The food was a sufficient distraction but only for the rest of the night. Ava was right back to worrying first thing in the morning. About Kael, about Ian's son, about being left alone again, about figuring out what to do with the money.
She needed to sell Ian's house but wasn't sure she would be able to do that in such a fragile state of mind. She also needed to look into what it took to start an animal rescue. It would probably be an awful lot of paperwork. She would need to hire people too, which was crazy to think about.
But one thing at a time. The most pressing issues were Kael's recovery and the baby's birth. Anything else could be dealt with later.
Since there wasn't much she could do but wait at this point, she decided the best distraction would be entertaining Ginzi. He was rather curious about everything in her world and had one-sided conversations with Zeldris asking what things were all the time.
