I am a Skeleton?!

' I was floating in the darkness while thinking of my life that I lived. I remembered that I had a stern but supporting father, a loving mother, and a little sister. I and my little sister used to argue a lot but we also used made up very fast. I remember the day I was recruited in the Army, my father was proud but my mother and sister cried seeing me go away. Later due to my talent, I was secretly transferred to the spy division. I was only able to see my family once or twice every two years, depending upon my assignments. In my latest assignment, I was deployed as a spy to monitor the ISIS terrorist organization and keep track of their projects and report to the management secretly.

But there was a traitor among the officials and he secretly leaked most of the spies data. And I was among them, they caught me started torturing me. I was tortured extremely for a week and a half, I didn't spill any beans because of my training but I also held hope that the government would save me.

And the Army came, there was commotion everywhere between the terrorists. I was still in my dark cell tied to a chair with barbed wires, my one eye was gouged out, all my nails were brutally pulled out, there were maggots crawling in my wounds. I was dying slowly, but suddenly came a ray of light in my cell, " He is ..re! B..t op.. the ga.e, we ..ed to e...act him .ast! " (He is here! Bust open the gate, we need to extract him fast). The sounds that came were quite hushed, due to one of my eardrums being ruptured. Then the gate was busted open, but due to my eye not being able to adapt to lights, which came after a very long time, I just saw shadows. I heard some voices again, " O. .od! Wh.. di. t.is ..y w.nt t....gh? .nd he is still alive aft.. all ..is!" " Tho.. mother...kers! I want to kill th.. more and mo..!" (Oh God! What did this guy went through? And he is still alive after all this!" " Those motherfcukers! I want to kill them more and more!"). Then I had the feeling of my wires being cut, then I was lifted in a stretcher. I was then fed water in my mouth, I was slowly able to regain my senses. But suddenly I saw terrorists hiding on the side of the tunnel we were passing through, he was able to hide temporarily due to poor lighting conditions. The soldiers also saw him, but just as they were about to shoot him, he screamed and started running towards us with two grenades in his hands. He was almost near us and even if they shot him many of us were going to either die or get seriously injured.

" GET OUT of he... " I yelled and my voice crocked while running towards the terrorist. With my last remaining strength, I caught his hands which were holding the grenade and head-butted him to his nose, which made him dizzy and lose strength, and with my momentum, we were flung back into the tunnel. The soldiers froze for a sec, but they saluted me and started running towards the exit.

After some seconds, the grenade blasted and then..., then there was this blackness I was floating in. Hah! I wasn't even able to say goodbye to my family. Perhaps! they are able to live their life in comfort. Now, is this it. No going to heaven or hell. Or is this what happens after death. Then that means all those books were lying.

" No child! Not all of them are a lie. There is in fact Heaven and Hell, but you are a special case. You were in this void that only a few are able to come just after their death. It means You have a very tenacious will to live. So, I will give you a chance."

I was quite startled by the voice as it had an imposing presence. Still, I asked it, " Huh! who are you? And what chance are you talking about?"

" I am a Random Omnipotent Being or a ROB or a GOD. I will let you be reborn in another world with the memories of your previous life, and then if you are able to you can become a god. So do you agree? If not then, I will reincarnate you to your previous world but without any of your memories."

I was gobsmacked but then I became happy because I will be able to become a god and who doesn't want to become one. Having overwhelming power at the beck of your call, being able to do anything you want. Ok but first, " Will you be so kind as to tell me which world I will be reborn into? or do I know anything about that world? and what if someone kills me just as I am reborn?"

" You don't have to worry about those things. The world you will be reborn in, you will know about it and you will not be reborn as a child. And before going to that world you will be in a dungeon for a month to become strong. And even after going to the world, you will be able to enter the dungeon after every three days for a day. The dungeon's time will be in 24:1 ratio, which means if you spend 24 hours in the dungeon it will be an hour outside."

It was quite good and I will be able to become strong enough to survive the new world, but " I am ready but before that, can you tell me if my family is ok... after my departure?"

" Yes, they are ok. Your body pieces were recovered after the camp was destroyed and you were given the highest honor. Here see for yourself..."

Just as he said that the black of the void started to dim and a projection started playing in front of my eyes... I saw that my coffin was wrapped in my National flag and my Mother and sister were crying on my father's shoulders. Many people of high standing even the Prime Minister himself came, he consoled my mother and sister then thanked my parents for having such a great son. Then the scene changed and it showed the scene where I was given the award. The scene changed once again, I saw my sister getting married to a good-hearted businessman. He helped my father and mother a lot, and they were happy. Now I saw a child playing in the hands of my sister while my mother was also sitting there. I guessed that the child was my nephew. Subconsciously I started crying with happiness internally.

The child was now an adult and was in the military, he gained a very high rank due to his contributions. My father and mother died at the age of 94 and 96 respectively. At least they were happy while they lived. I had now no regrets left. I said, " Thanks for showing me this. Now I am ready."

" Off you go, child! Become strong, I will be watching you do not disappoint me..."

Then I blacked out after I opened my eyes..." Huh! why do I not have the feeling of opening my eyes. Am I still in the void or my surroundings are darkened? " Then I saw a source of light on my far left. I tried to stand up, but I had no feeling in my palms. It was like I just knew that I touched the ground there was no sensation of doing so. Still, I got up with my wobbly legs and started walking towards the source of light. After walking for half an hour, I finally reached the light source. Just as the light rays started to shine, I instinctively covered my eyes with my right arm. But after a few seconds, I saw that my forearms were not able to completely block the light rays. I lowered my arms and, " What is this? Why are my arms only bones? What am I? I need to get to a water source or anything reflective. I want to see how I look?!"

I surveyed my surroundings and saw that there was quite the greenery here, and the trees were quite big. There were different types of plants, that I have never ever seen in my life. But there were also many caves, same as the one I got out from but with bigger entrances. I started walking forward, then after walking for 5 minutes, I saw a small puddle of water. I hurriedly reached towards it knelt down near it. I saw a skull with blue fires in its eyes. I understood that it was me, " Why am I a skeleton? Will I have to level up by killing monsters or something. If that is true, then I should have a system..."

Suddenly, there was a blue screen with words written on it in front of my eyes and a voice started sounding in my head.

" Hello user, this is the System provided to you as a medium to help you in your journey. From now on you are its user and can use the system. This System will help you on your journey."

A normal human's average stat is 10 in every aspect except Luck which is 1. Strength and Agility affect your hit power. Endurance affects the Hp and defense. Intelligence affects your Mp. Wisdom is your ability to think and make good decisions. Dexterity affects how better you can control your body. Charisma affects you being liked by sentient beings. Luck affects your Luck as in ability to get better Loot from a dead Body you killed or You being Lucky. ]

" Ok, due to me being a skeleton my Strength and Endurance are higher than an average person while my Agility, Dexterity and Charisma are lower. Ok, tell me about other functions. And my Luck is exceptional."

" Turn on all the options. And how and where do I hunt monsters? Do I get a beginner pack or something." I was quite excited after knowing that I have a system. I wanted to go and hunt monsters.

" Yes, you have a beginner pack in your [Inventory]. And for hunting monsters you can enter dungeons, they are like caves from outside. But you have to first enter the beginner dungeon then you will be able to enter higher ones. You can enter a dungeon more than one time to increase your level more. You can exit the dungeon after completing each floor or keep going."

Oh! so those caves I saw are dungeons. Well, Let's see what I got in the beginner pack? I opened the [Inventory] and I saw a chest glowing in golden color on the screen. I tapped on the chest and a golden chest popped up on the ground near my bony feet. I kneeled and opened it. There was a blinding golden color and 4 cards popped up in my view. They were, Uncommon Sword, Uncommon Shield, Weapon Apprentice, Save Crystal. The first two were glowing in white while the last two were blue, gold colors respectively.

" System, Can you tell me the rank of these items according to their colors? And is everyone able to see the chest or the golden color it emits? "

" Hmm! That means the Save Crystal is a Heroic Item while the skill is a Rare skill and the items are Uncommon ones. Well overall its pretty good for my beginner pack. And if no one is able to see my loot then that will be quite good otherwise I would have to open them while hiding somewhere."

I tapped on each one of the cards and they got instantly teleported in my inventory. I used the "Weapon Apprentice" card and it gave me 5% progress in every weapon. Then, I equipped the sword and shield and started running towards the dungeon taking advantage of my N/A stamina due to me being a skeleton. After reaching the caves, I entered the beginner dungeon which was indicated by the Minimap function...
