Chapter 8

**3 rd person**

Starting high school at a less-known school had been something he had to beg his father for. To leave the group of elite "friends" he had.

It was a calculated move.

Whenever he was around them, he felt a familiar itch bother him constantly. The urge to shut their mouths by "unethical" means. The constant annoyance was unbearable beneath his facade of perfection which was, to his surprise never seen through, even by his self-proclaimed "knowing" father. It bore him as much as it excited him. To show them that he wasn't who they seem to think he was in the most gruesome way imaginable but, he couldn't. It wasn't a conscience that held him back, but rather their importance.

If any of these children of elite people went missing, it would spark a never ending investigation. One that would most definitely lead to his exposure. And he cared for that. Dearly.

So he stood, proudly, in front of the school filled with nobodies that came from lower and rarely middle class.

He felt a smile on his face. He was excited. Finally, he could relax and play around. Do what he had been waiting to do. Wanting to do.

Girls stared at him interest along with boys. Nobody saw who he was. What he was.

That was until he bumped into a meek brunette. He hadn't seen her hunched figure that hugged her bag. Nothing special. He smiled at her, until he saw her expression.

Fear and shock, evident on her face as she stared at him wide eyed. He figured she might be surprised.

"I'm so sorry. My names Kevin, I'm new here" he held out his hand and smiled warmly as he had practiced, but the reaction he received wasn't the usual.

She jumped back the moment his hand reached for hers. Clenching her bag even tighter as she backed away from him without breaking eye contact and then sprinting away after she was at least 10 feet away.

He frowned but felt a rare emotion emerge from him.

Interest.

Why was this girl so scared of him. Mental problems? Anxiety? Maybe she was blind? Or maybe... she knew.

Whatever it was, Kevin kept his eye on her.

Elliot Hamper, her choice of just about everything from clothes to food suggested she came from a poor household. She was nobody special meaning he could play with her ... but... he frowned. It wouldn't be fun. There'd be no surprise.

She wasn't ill or blind. She rarely interacted with people but when she did, she was calm. That meant she knew something about him.

He thought about the rumours that plagued her. They were unpleasant, twisted and far from the truth, but that made her more interesting. She was an enigma.

He gave papers out to the class, helping out teachers to help out himself. He passed it to her and then pretending to lose his grip, dropped the paper, forcing her to pick it up. The moment she knelt he dropped down, "accidentally" brushing his hand against her.

He felt her tense up. Her fingers started shaking. She quickly grabbed the paper and put it on her desk, ignoring him.

"I'm so sorry Elliot. Let me get you a smoother paper" he proposed to her. She was shaking and gave him no response.

He reached for the now creased paper on her desk only for it to be pulled away from him.

"That's okay." She raised head to look at him, pupils trembling with fear causing a smile to spread on his face.

She knew something.

Killing her would be boring. But, a smile was prominent on his face. He had other plans for her.
