My phone screen lit up and buzzed interrupting the tense atmosphere between myself and George.
'Come down' Jenn
I sighed at the message.
"I need to make sure some drunkards get home safely so I'll see you later if your still here" I made my way to the door hastily, slightly eager to escape the suffocating air.
"Do you really think I didn't kill him?" George pressed, clearly still insecure despite my earlier reassurances.
I paused just as my hand held the door handle.
"If I did, I wouldn't have hesitated to tell you."
A relieved sighed escaped the usually obnoxious boy.
I once again moved to turn the iron handle until I heard two surprising words exit the boys mouth.
"Thank you" the words were so unusually soft spoken that I had to swivel my head around and make sure that George was actually there and not a figment of my imagination.
He wasn't looking up and instead took to glaring at his hands, when moments passed and I still stared, he snapped his head upwards and barked like the typical George.
"The hell you waiting for Hamper!"
I flinched and swung the door open, closing it behind me quickly but still managing to hear a snort of amusement.
I rushed down the stairs and made my way towards the front door where I spied a familiar strawberry blonde. However, before I could get to the door an unknown liquid spilt all over me, coming from all direction. A pungent smell attacking my nostrils as I gasped for air pathetically.
Laughter erupted all around me as i stood drenched head to toe noticing the crowd around me holding buckets.
My cousin stood as their leader gasping for air, her face twisted with laughter.
So I guess nobody really needed a ride home and this was the real reason i had to stay. My fists clenched and my vision quickly blurred with anger as I willed myself to not send her flying.
Amidst my forceful self-calming i didn't notice the blonde who walked diligently behind Jennifer until something so awful smelling that it made me feel glad that I was drenched in booze spilt all over her.
Her eyes squinted and she quickly started screeching in pain.
"Ahhhh my eyes!!!" She started thrashing around and her friends started reaching for her, but eventually couldn't suppress their laughter.
More laughter followed while Jennifer painfully screamed and wobbled around the place trying to reach for someone to help her.
I quickly spotted Kevin who stood were Jennifer last was. He smirked at her state and I noticed the empty cup in his hands. I shivered, not from being drenched though.
He noticed my gaze and approached me, causing me to step back.
Another shiver ran down my spine as he stood in front of me. The crowd continued to laugh at Jennifer's expense, oblivious to her pain.
"You're too nice" he leaned in bringing the empty cup he held to my nose. "Apple cider vinegar" the scent hit my nose, causing it to crinkle. It wasn't even diluted, but pure and concentrated.
"No" I shook my head as disgust washed over me, "you're just evil" I pushed past him and reached for Jennifer, dragging her up to the bathroom with me.
"Who are you?!" She cried. Her voice was cracking with sobs.
"Come on" she relaxed slightly at my voice as I guided her carefully up the stairs. "Did you spill that shit on me?!" I scoffed at her.
"I was too busy wondering what was going on..." i finally got her to the bathroom where I helped her strip and put on the shower leaving her to wash herself.
I didn't realise Kevin followed me upstairs so when I caught sight of his figure as I exited the bathroom i jumped.
His gaze not the kind and uncannily welcoming one, but angry almost as if he had been humiliated. My hands trembled slightly as he stepped towards me closer somehow in the narrow hallway.
"What the fuck do you know?" He asked voice low and his height now intimidating as his face closed in on me from above.
"What?" I finally let out, getting over my shock.
"To look at me with disgust like that" he grabbed my arm, "call me evil like you know who I am! You don't know me Elliot!" He whispered harshly.
I stood stunned unable to reply to his unexpected anger.
A tear made its way down his eye. My eyes followed it.
"What are you busy looking at?" He impatiently demanded.
"Y-your crying" I reached towards the tear and brushed it off to show him the water.
Kevin's brows were furrowed as he stared at the salty water on my thumb as if the tear looked alien to him.
"I cried?" He muttered quietly.
I felt guilt poke at my heart strings. I knew that having black bracelets didn't exactly mean that the person that held them actually killed someone but I already saw one of Kevin's.
I wondered slightly if what he did to Jennifer had been on my behalf or just some sick fantasy that sat in his head for too long, either way he was right. I didn't know Kevin. I didn't know anything about Kevin besides what I can see on his arm.
He stepped back, his mind was so clearly a mess. In fact, this was probably the first time I've gauged his thoughts. Usually, I would be left sceptic at his every word.
"Kevin..." I whispered to the boy, not entirely sure if he would notice my voice. His head snapped towards me almost as if he forgot I stood there.
"What is it?" He frowned.
"We want to hear your full plan- me and George I mean!" I rambled slightly.
"That's right, pretty boy" I flinched at George's random appearance, but Kevin seemed unperturbed by him.
"Where did you-?" I questioned but halted when I noticed how he stood inside of Mr and Mrs Lemoz's bedroom doorway.
He was easily hidden there but since when had he been standing there exactly?
