3 Chapter 3

"Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! Why did the train have to be late today, of all days!" I screamed as I ran through Domino Central Park as fast as I could.

I knew from the show Jaden was late to the entrance exam but I thought he had overslept or something, why didn't the show tell us about this, "FUCK!" I shouted as I continued running at top speed,

I did not want to be late for many reasons, the main one being antagonizing Crowler. I had no problem with taking on his shit tier Ancient Gear deck, I had Monarchs on my side after all, so it's no trouble, but that lady man had a serious case of being a sore loser, and I did not want to deal with trouble,

After Jaden beat his ugly ass, Crowler started to try to get Jaden either humiliated, or even go as far as expelled because he can't get over a small loss to someone he thinks of as a slacker. He even goes as far as to hire a professional hitman to take Jaden out, like who does that?

I know that he eventually gets over it and removes the giant stick from his ass, and becomes a bit likeable in later seasons but come on man, hiring a God damn shadow duelist (however fake he may be) to take on a 15 year old is insane.

I ran through a few trees to cut down on time, and could finally see the Kaiba Dome, I ran through a dozen people, nearly got a man to drop his sandwich

"Sorry! I'm late for an Exam!" I shouted as I continued running, I finally exited the park and made it to the Duel Academy Exam Registration Desk,

"Hee Haa Hee Haa Hee Haa" I breathed deeply as I approached the desk "Examinee Number 69: Konami Kujo is here. Please tell me I'm not late. Hee Haa Hee Haa" I managed to say out loud between breaths as I walked towards the counter,

There were two women taking the applications, and one man standing there like a bodyguard.

"You barely made it you still have 4 minutes,"

"Phew, thank God," I muttered "Train was late so I had to run 4 stations here," I explained, "Others might show up late as well,"

"Well… That's too bad for them," he said with a small sorry in his voice, "The Duel Academy has a strict no late rule," he explained,

Wow… That's kinda cold, most schools would have pushed the examination to a later time, or made an exception, but I suppose Kaiba doesn't want anyone in his school that is late for any reason.

After I finished signing up, I saw the bodyguard turn to the two women and say "Mark all the no shows, no shows."

'Hold up a second there… Where is Jaden?' I thought to myself as a man crawled through the fence

"Wait up! I'm no no show! Examinee Number 110: Jaden Yuki is here! I'm safe, right? Ha Ha!" he said with a smile and made a peace sign.

"Well… You just made it kid," the bodyguard say as Jaden went on to sign up as well,

After he signed up he approached me, "Hi I'm Jaden," he said, putting up his hand

"Hi, my name is Konami Kujo," I told him and shook his hand.

-- Kaiba Duel Dome, A Few Minutes Later --

"Wow look at this place," Jaden said as we entered the Kaiba Duel Dome, I had a similar reaction, it was a very large area, and so I quickly scanned the stands with my eyes, and found Chazz sitting with two random Obelisks, and then found the two Obelisks I was actually looking for, Zane Trusdale and Alexis Rhodes.

Zane was arguably the best duelist in the series, including Jaden. And Alexis… she has great personali-tities.

I stared at her for a moment,

Was it wrong for a 20 year old trapped in his 15 year old self's body to want to see if he could bounce a quarter off of another 15 year old's ass? Maybe? I don't know? She has the body most adult women would kill to have.

"Yo bro, come on we are missing all the cool duels," Jaden said as he dragged me along. "They are at it, they are at it," Jaden said with smile

Duel seems to be about to finish. Bastion has 3200 LP, Vorse Raider (1900/1200) in Attack Position and one Set card, probably Ring of Destruction. The Proctor has 1900 LP and controls Big Shield Gardna (100/2600) and Gear Golem the Moving Fortress (800/2200), both in Defense Position.

Proctor smirks, "No matter how well-capable you may be, in the face of my Super Defense Deck, you can no longer reduce my Life Points." he said with conviction. I thought he said something different about throwing in the towel in canon but I'll just blame it on 4kids.

Bastion just maintains his cool, and activates his trap, just like in the canon it is Ring of Destruction. He attached it to his Vorse Raider (1900/1200), and won the duel.

Okay that part is the same at least, phew.

"Wow that last guy really thore it down," Jaden commented

"That's Bastion Misawa." Syrus replies. What the heck, I didn't see him down there, he is like 1.37 meters (4'6). Also what's with neon blue hair? "They say he got the highest score in the written exam in all us applicants"

"Really?" I fake my surprise. "That's impressive. I did slightly below average."

"I barely passed," Jaden said

"Yeah me too. Oh? I'm Syrus by the way, nice to meet " Syrus turns and looks back down over the arena. "I kind of have a thing where I get test anxiety. I don't know how I won my match."

"So your in congrats," Jaden said with a pat in the back, "We'll be in once we win as well," he said with a smile

"Wait, you two haven't duel yet?" Syrus asks

"No," I said

"Then you might have a problem, because this was supposed to be the last duel," he said as Jaden did double over, I on the other hand just looked at Crowler's direction.

"Well… hopefully he'll just duel Jaden." I muttered. "I don't need his ire,"

"Huh? Did you say something Konami?" he asked me.

"I said don't worry Jaden. I'm sure someone will duel us." I lied smoothly.

"Yeah man, and I bet it will be totally sweet." Said the cute hyperactive protagonist that people want to choke in his sleep.

At this moment Bastion walked to the seat in front of us and sat down,

"Tight duel Bastion," Jaden said with a gusto in his voice

"Thank you," he replies politely

"It seems like you might just be the second best duelist here," Jaden said, but an announcement made him stop

"Examinee Number 69: Konami Kujo, please report to exam field 1.

Examinee Number 110: Jaden Yuki, please report to exam field 4."

"It seems like they are calling us," I said with a smile, knowing that Crowler is probably gonna duel Jaden,

"Hey wait, if I'm the second best, who is first?" Bastion asks

"Yours truly, dueling is what's I'm best at," he said with a smile

"Well… That could have been true if I wasn't here," I muttered as I left for exam field 1.

I heard Syrus say "I wish I had their confidence…"

-- Duel Arena 1, A Few Minutes Later --

As soon as I walked to the ring I saw one of the Proctors, complete with his blue jacket and sunglasses, although his hair was quite normal. Something else 4kids got wrong.

"Konami Kujo I presume?" he asks

"Yes," I said with a grin on my face, I was just happy I wouldn't have to deal with Crowler.

"My name is Professor Dean, you will be dueling against me." Proctor said "This will be a normal one versus one duel, we will both start with 4000 life points, and since you are the challenger you get to start if you wish to, any questions,"

"Nope, let's dance," I say as I hold up my duel disk, and the proctor does the same,

Both of us drew five cards, and then I drew my sixth card.

"My turn, Draw,"

Turn 1 (Konami)

MC Hand: Mother Grizzly, Spirit Reaper, Brain Control, Sakuretsu Armor, Defense Draw, Mobius the Frost Monarch

I looked at my hand and was happy with what I had gotten. It wasn't the best hand, but it was good enough.

"Alright then, first, I will summon Mother Grizzly in attack mode, then I will set two cards," I say, keeping my poker face on through the entire ordeal. Mother Grizzly appears on my side of the field. It was beyond exhilarating to see a Duel Monster come out like this, it was a dream of any true Yu-Gi-Oh fan.

Mother Grizzly - Level 4/Water/Beast-Warrior - 1400/1000

"And this will be all for now," I manage to say, keeping my voice even

Konami: 4000 x3

Turn 2 (Proctor)

"A bit lacking Examinee, let me show you how we do things in the Academy," the Proctor said with a grin on his face as he drew his sixth card and subsequently activating it, "I will activate Mystical Space Typhoon, and will be destroying one of your set cards, and I pick the one on my right," proctor said as a small typhoon destroyed my set card, revealing it to be Sakuretsu Armor, making me wince slightly, on purpose.

"Too bad for you, cause you could have definitely used that with what I have planned," the proctor claimed as he activated a spell card "I activate my spell, Double Summon, which allows me to make 2 normal summons this turn instead of one," he exclaimed

"Shit," I fake said, he was definitely gonna summon a powerful monster, and I can probably use it.

"Language, but yes" the proctor said before using his first normal summon "I summon Double Coston, but he won't be staying here for long, because I will tribute him to summon the strongest monster in my deck, say hello to Tri-Horned Dragon," a giant blue dragon appeared on the field and it roared, shaking the area and drawing everyone's attention.

Tri-Horned Dragon - Level 8/Dark/Dragon - 2850/2350

-- In the Stands, General POV --

On the stands a blonde girl was watching it alongside Kaiser of the Duel academy. "Wow, that dragon looks powerful,"

"Attack points are not everything Alexis, but yes, that monster is a tad bit too powerful for test decks with its 2850 Attack points, I believe it is the most powerful monster amongst them,"

"Really? Then that boy is in trouble," she commented as the proctor commanded his dragon to attack Mother Grizzly,

A purple haired girl, on the other hand, looked completely unimpressed.

-- Back With The Duel --

I stood there as my monster got destroyed, but it was as I planned, I activated my trap card just as he was destroyed.

"Hey kid, you may wanna check your duel disk, your life points aren't going down." he said with confusion written all over his face.

"That's because I activated my trap card, Defense Draw, this card negates the battle damage I would have taken and allows me to draw a new card," I say as I drew a card, and I couldn't be happier with the result, I now definitely won the duel, "You see, after my Mother Grizzly is destroyed I can special summon one water type monster directly from my deck, that is if they have 1500 or less attack points," I say as I special summon my cutest monster, "Say hello to my little friend"

Treeborn Frog - Level 1/Aqua/Water - 100/100 appeared on my field with a smile on his face, "Ribbit Ribbit!"

"Oh… That was a good move, but unfortunately for you, your little Frog is lacking compare to my dragon," he commented

"We'll see about that teach," I said while maintaining my poker face

"I suppose we will. I am setting one card, and ending my turn,"

Proctor: 4000 x1

Turn 3 (Konami)

"Final Turn! Draw!" I say as I drew a card, I looked at it and smirked, I probably didn't need a second copy of Brain Control but it made it so much easier.

"I activate Heavy Storm, this card destroys every Spell and Trap Card on the field," I said as a giant storm appeared on the field and destroy Proctors set card, "And I am just getting started," I said

"Now I am sacrificing Treeborn Frog to summon one of my ace monsters, so buddy, goodbye," I say as I send him to the graveyard, "And here comes Mobius the Frost Monarch."

Mobius the Frost Monarch - Level 6/Water/Aqua - 2400/1000

"Now, I activate Brain Control, and by paying 800 life points I gain control of one of your monsters for this turn, and can you guess which one I pick?" I ask as my life points drops down

Konami LP: 4000 => 3200

His Tri-Horned Dragon walks towards my side of the field and turns around before roaring at the Proctor and making him flinch,

"Now my monsters, attack him directly and finish this duel," I commanded and my monsters attacks him directly

Proctor LP: 4000 => 1600 => 0000

"The examination duel is over. Welcome to the Duel Academy," he said in a monotone voice

"Hn," I said before making my way to the registration,
