-- Time Skip No Jutsu, Little Over A Month Later, Duel Academy Teacher Meeting Room, General POV --

The entire teaching staff of the academy were having a meeting in the conference room about the upcoming Friendship Duel.

"But Why?!" Crowler said as he slammed the table "For the friendship with North Duel Academy, the representative as before, must be Signor Zane Truesdale!" he said as he pointed at the Kaiser of the Central Duel Academy.

"As I was about to say, Zane here is scheduled to attend a meeting with a potential sponsor before his upcoming entry to Japan Pro Duel League," Chancellor Shephard barely held a sigh as he explained the situation,

"What No Ne?!" Crowler looked shocked as he stared at the Kaiser who just nods his head,

"And that is not all," Chancellor cut the man dressed in blue "This year there was a suggestion of three vs three, tournament style duel,"

"What do you mean by that, Chancellor?" Professor Satyr, the professor with the french mustache asked,

"In order to make duels more lively, it has been decided that each academy selects three representatives, two males, and one female student."

"What do you think, Zane?" Chancellor asked to the 'Best Duelist In The Academy'

"I don't mind," Zane said as he did not really care, last year's opponent was lackluster, and he had finished the duel in a single turn. This might liven up the duels,

"Now the question is, who do we choose for our new representatives?" Chancellor asked to the room,

"I recommend Konami Kujo," Crowler spoke, "Excluding Signore Truesdale, he is the top duelist in my Blues, and the academy,"

"That is a fine choice," Chancellor nodded his head, "His record is… impressive to say the least," Despite being a freshman, and joining as a Slifer initially, the young man had a Dueling Record of 104 wins, 0 draws, and 0 loss. "Who should be our second male representative then?"

There was a short silence before Kaiser spoke

"Jaden Yuki,"

"This looks like it could get ugly, eh, Pharaoh?" Banner said and then everyone in the room started chatting,

"Jaden Yuki, Is he serious?" someone whispered, Zane ignored them before looking at Chancellor

"I believe he would give us an entertaining duel," he said

"Yes, and in terms of skills, he leaves no room for complaint," Chancellor said,

Crowler was shaking in anger 'I do not like this, for that Slacker to be our representative… There must be someone else… Who could be a candidate to oppose him…' he was thinking to himself, before Satyr spoke up

"How about Bastion Misawa? He is the best duelist in my dorm, and top of the class in terms of academics," he said and Crowler jumped up in agreement,

"That's Right! I also endorse Bastion Misawa!" Crowler said, Chancellor looked to be thoughtful, so Crowler jumped on top of the table and crawled into Chancellor's personal space "Why do we not have them fight, and he who wins will be the representative?" he suggested

"Hm… What do you think, Zane?" Chancellor asks to Kaiser who nods his head,

"I believe that is a good idea," Zane said and then Crowler went back to his seat and Chancellor turned to only female in the room,

"Then Miss Fontaine, who would you recommend for our female representative," Chancellor asks and Fontaine places a finger on her chin,

"Well, there are several girls in my dorm that could totally represent us, but the two that stands out the most are Wisteria Senrigan and Alexis Rhodes," she said, "Both of them are excellent duelists with different styles, and I cannot exactly choose between them, so why don't we make them duel it out as well,"

"Hmph, yes that seems like the best course of action, all those who agree say aye," Chancellor said and then everyone in the room said

"AYE!"

(AN: As some of you may remember, Konami had one draw against Jaden and Syrus in the Tag Duel, but that was not recorded as he used Jaden's old Duel Disk)

-- Professor Banner's Class --

The classroom was filled with students, everyone looked quite excited today, there was a rumor going around about the Duel Academy representative being selected.

"Hello class-"

"Professor Banner!" One of the more excitable Obelisk Blue's raised his hand and spoke without waiting for Banner "Is it true you have selected the representative for the upcoming inter-school duel!"

"Yes we did, and I was about to tell you all. Now this year there is a change in the event, instead of only one duel, there will be three," he said and one man in the back had his eyes widened

'Is it like a real Match, that never happened in the anime, nor in Pros,' Konami couldn't help but think, but Banner's next sentence made him scratch that

"There will be three duels, and therefore three representatives," Everyone started murmuring "The first representative will be Konami," Banner said and he got a few pats in the back, "The other two representatives, however, need to earn their spots. Tomorrow we will have two duels. One between Alexis and Wisteria, and one between Jaden and Bastian. The winners of both duels will be representatives," he said and then Pharaoh said "Nyan"

"Hey, why doesn't Konami has to duel someone," a cyan haired boy asked, while people were muttering

"Shut up Slifer Slacker, Konami deservedly obtained his spot, it is already dumb that Professors didn't choose another Obelisk to represent us, and picked a Ra Loser, or worse, a Slifer Slacker," a student wearing Blue said and Syrus shrunk down, Jaden was about to say something but Konami spoke up first

"Quite down, I am sure Bastian or Jaden will do well as the representative," Konami said before looking at Alexis,

'Alexis is definitely amongst the top female duelists in the Yugioh (which doesn't say much, except Akiza and Sherry they are all damsels in distress), but she currently doesn't have Cyber Angel cards, so I think Wisteria is far more likely to win, especially considering her brand new cards she brought with her after Winter Break, and I did help her to make it a little more competitive, but she can still improve,' Konami thought to himself as he felt a pinch, "Ouch" he muttered as he looked away from Alexis and turned towards Wisteria, who muttered

"You should not be daydreaming during class,"

-- After Classes, A Semi-Empty Classroom, Konami's POV --

"So Konami," Wis said with a serious look on her face, "What do you think about my chances of winning this duel?" she asks

"Alexis is good, I would say she is good enough to go Pro (which is not that tough), but you were on equal grounds when we first dueled, and since then, you got a far more powerful and efficient deck, and learned how to use it. I would say your odds of winning are 9 to 1, unless she improved her deck greatly, which I doubt it." I said honestly, but she shakes her head

"That's not good enough, I want to make sure there is no chance of me losing," she says and I look at her with a surprised expression on my face,

"Why do you HAVE to win?" I ask her and she takes a deep breath before facing me,

"Alexis and I have been rivals ever since we first entered Duel Prep School, we have been the two best female duelists there. We dueled 14 times, I won 6, lost 6, and drew 2."

"Why do you care? Isn't that just an empty title?" I ask her and she shooks her head,

"To some, it may be an empty title, but it allows one to attend conventions as the representative of the Central Duel Academy, and build connections in the Duel World. The main reason I attend this school is so Senrigan Group can gain a solid foot in that world, and enter the ever growing Duel Monster Business World." She said "And whoever wins the duel between us, will most likely be crowned that title as this will be the first official duel between us since entering the Academy."

"I know-" I tried to say but she cut me off,

"No, you don't know anything. This duel is very important to me, I- I just can't lose." she said as she looked away, she looked both tired and nervous

"Yeah you are right, I don't know what you are going through as heiress of a multinational corporation," I said, "But I am here if you wanna talk about it, or just rant," I said and she leaned in and we shared a minute long kiss, and afterwards she spend the next hour or so telling me about her family,

After that, I walked her to the girl's dorm before going to my dorm.

Tomorrow was going to be entertaining.

-- The Next Day, Duel Arena, General POV --

There was a relatively large crowd of students, majority of them were Slifer Reds, and Ra Yellows. They had come to support their dorm mates, and in Slifer's case, hope one of them could finally represent them in the inner school duel.

They were waiting for the past 15 minutes for duel to start,

"Signores and Signoras, I am terribly sorry for the long wait!" Crowler finally announced as she entered the middle of the Arena, "We shall now begin the duel to determine the school representative!" He then points to his right "From Ra Yellow, Bastion Misawa, and from Slifer Red, some kid," he said

In the stands, a purple haired girl approached a dark haired boy, "We talked a lot about my duel last not but not theirs, she said

"No we did not," he replied as he take a sip from the orange juice in his hands, "Who do you think will win?" he then asks

"Well, Yuki kid has pulled off narrow wins against the likes of Paradox Brothers, and Princeton, but Misawa has proven himself to be the most calculating duelist in the academy. So I think he will likely win,"

The boy couldn't help but laugh a little, "Then I say buckle up for a one hell of a duel, because Jaden is too dumb for anyone to calculate his moves. One second you would think he is losing for sure, the next he would turn everything around."

"Then how about a bet?" After the bet was made the two teens watched the tough duel, but just like Konami 'predicted', Jaden Yuki from Slifer Red had managed to trample over Bastian's Anti-Fusion strategy.

"Well Wis, it seems like I won,"
