7 Chapter 6 | Ra yellow and Enters Chezz

Meeting up with Jaden and Syrus at the entrance, I greeted them.

''Hey Jaden, hey Syrus.'' I greeted them and they greeted back.

''So what dorm are you in, Sy and I are in Slifer Red.'' Jaden asked as he pointed at syrus, but suddenly I noticed something.

''Wait you already have a pet name for Sy? Huh. cute.'' I said and Syrus freaked out, Jaden just laughed along, not even bothered.

''Well anyways, I'm in Ra Yellow.'' I answered and Jaden looked a little bummed.

''uhh... then it'll be harder to duel you...'' He said somewhat bummed and I just deadpanned at him.

Soon Bastion walked by witha yellow vest and Jaden greeted him.

''Hey Bastion, you in Slifer too?'' Jaden asked, but Bastion turned over to meet eyes with me befor turning back to Jaden. God stop acting like I'm your eternal rivel or something...

''Well now, let's see yellow sleeves, yellow button. I don't think so.'' Bastion answered and Jaden looked surprised.

''Oh, I get it. So that's why Sy and I are in red.'' He said as he looked down at his red jacket and my eyebrow twitched a little bit at their stupidity.

''Please don't tell me you've just figured that out now.'' Bastion said, visually surprised at Jaden's stupidity.

''So what ever think I'm color blind?'' Jaden argued back.

''Are you color blind?'' Bastion asked, then Jaden laughed.

''No, but I could've been.'' Jaden said and Bastion was about to walk away after giving me a nod.

''Wait, then why is Illumi's uniform different?'' At Jaden's words Bastion snapped his head back towards my uniform. 

The uniform I was wearing was the inverse version of the Ra yellow uniform. This was actually the favor I asked Crowler for, I didn't like the normal yellow jacket since it was too... yellow. Some reason, Crowler nodded as if he understood and got me an inverse jacket with my normal one that I could wear.

Looking at myself I would say the inverse Ra Yellow uniform suits me. The yellow matches my gold eyes and the white matches with my lighter toned skin and wheat colored hair. It suited me.

''I didn't like the other one.'' I simply stated yet everyone looked at me weirdly.

''You can do that?'' Jaden asked with widened eyes, I just shrugged and walked off to my dorm.

Reaching my dorm I found my room and collapsed on the bed, looking around I had a nice room, although it wasn't the castle obelisk blue was, it's much better then the outhouse claiming to be Slifer Red's dorm.

My room had a queen sized bed, large closet, full body mirror, study table, and a few side tables. The room was slightly big, had 2 windows and was all for myself.

Locking my door, I went over my deck. I removed my Sparks and added Dragon Mirror, if I got another dragon card, it would add to my deck but for now I'll use Dragon Mirror to summon House Dragonmaid and Dragonmaid Sheou.

Inserting my deck into my duel disk I decided to check out the campus. Taking out my PDA, the device given to us by the academy, like a school issued phone, I messaged Jaden and found out they where about to check out the campus.

Since today we had no classes, I decided to go as well remembering they'd soon meet Chazz and Alexis.

Reaching the campus I saw Jaden and Syrus also arriving. Soon we greeted each other and happened on our way, when suddenly Jaden stopped and turned to a direction and started running.

Syrus noticing him half way through a rant about being on fire or something, I wasn't paying attention, ran after him.

''Wait I'm not a dip! Wait up~'' Syrus shouted as he ran after him.

''There's some kind of duel action going on in there.'' Jaden said and scrunching my brow I turned my focus towards the building. Concentrating my sense towards that direction I also felt something vague, but I couldn't describe it.

'I wonder if it's due to having some sort of affinity with duel spirits?' I pondered.

Opening my eyes, I chased after them quickly reaching and matching Jaden's pace. One good thing about my new body was that it seemed to be incredibly athletic and strong. It was like I was a peak human, I guess that's what happens when your body is made by some god. I hadn't mentioned it much but I was really handsome too, especially with my golden colored eyes and wheat like hair, even my skin was something women would be jealous of.

But I digress, for now let's focus on following Jaden to Chazz Princeton.

Following Jaden, I walked into the obelisk dueling arena casually and calmly. There, Chazz's two lackeys stopped us and pointed out that it was the obelisk blue arena. But when he looked at Jaden and I, they brought in their boss.

''Chazz that applicant who used those maid dragon cards and the applicant who beat Doctor Crowler is here, check it out.'' The spike haired one said.

''Ugh.'' The dark and brooding wannabe, Chazz, replied with a grunt.

Jaden, being Jaden greeted him with his ever positive attitude and some how managed to piss him off even without trying.

''Hey what's up, I'm Jaden... and his name was Chezz... was it?'' Jaden asked. As the situation started to slowly escalate, I reached into my pocket and took out a small packet of a m&m like candy called Toon Bites, I had found during my first week, apparently it was made by industrial illusions.

Looking around I saw a girl walking over, she had dark blond hair and hazel eyes, paired with the her blue uniform I assumed she was Alexis Rhodes. Meeting eyes with her, I popped an Toon Bites in my mouth and waved, she seemed surprised and stopped not knowing how to react to my casualness.

I went back to Chazz trying to talk Jaden into a duel, looking over to Syrus he seemed slightly panicked. Turning over to one of Chazz's lackey, I elbowed him lightly. When he turned to me, I raised the candy pack in my hand towards him, offering him some.

Confused he looked back and forth between the Toon Bites and my face, ultimately taking one awkwardly while looking at me as if I was strange.

Shrugging my shoulders, I watched the show. Luckily Jaden had already pulled aggro and I was just watching from the sidelines. I was not interested in getting into a duel with some moody teen with edgy hair.

Soon Alexis made her entrance and Chazz started simping.

''This sure is a motley crew.'' Alexis's said with her arms crossed. But I was a little confused, what does motley mean? Should I feel offended? I pondered, deciding to ask Bastion what 'motley' means, later.

''Hey Alexis, have you come to watch me mop the floor with my new little friend Jaden here? It'll be a short duel but an entertaining one for sure.'' He said turning his head to the side trying to act cool.

'huh, simp.' I thought to my self.

''I'm here to remind you of the obelisk welcome dinner, your late.'' Alexis said with moxy.

''Oh yah. Come on guys.'' Chazz said as he walked off and Alexis, done addressing talking to Chazz turned to us. 

''Sorry if Chazz rubbed you the wrong way. All of us Obelisks aren't like that, he's just a jerk... especially with Slifers.'' Alexis said sounding slightly annoyed.

''Tch, it was just getting good.'' I said while munching on Toon Bites. Everyone who heard me deadpanned at me and stared flabbergasted at me while I ate. Finally Jaden laughed and broke the awkward atmosphere.

''That' no big deal, those types don't bother me anyways. Besides I'd beat him in 1 turn.'' Jaden said.

''Yah, I agree with Jaden. It's just good nothing bad happened, right?'' I said agreeing with Jaden, while doing an exaggerated nod.

Everyone once again, deadpanned at me probably unsure of how to respond. This time however, Alexis broke the silence, laughing at my antics. Soon Jaden also laughed nodding.

''Besides I could beat him in one turn.'' Jaden said.

''We're gonna have to work on that overconfidence.'' Syrus pitched in.

''Yah, what Sy said! It would at least take 5 turns.'' I added my little food-for-thought.

''What!? No way! Max 3 turns!'' Jaden countered invigorated, I smirked and decided not to let him daydream.

''Please! 4 turns at least!'' I exclaimed and Jaden started walking towards me denying it.

''No way, I could end it quick!'' Jaden said and I just stretched my hand to his forehead and he couldn't move walk any further, didn't stop him from trying, though. Somehow it ended up looking like a cartoony scene of Jaden trying to move forward but he couldn't push me or my hand back, making me end up with Jaden running in place with my palm meeting his forehead, like the loony tunes. At that thought I smiled teasingly, which only made Jaden try harder.

Alexis, watching the entire scene couldn't stop herself from laughing. I started to snicker and Syrus taking the social que, started laughing too... he's learning, soon he won't be as awkward... I'm so proud of him.

''Slifer welcome dinner's about to start too.'' Alexis said after laughing and Jaden's love for food overpowered his urge to argue.

''Right, we better go Sy!'' Jaden said and started running off, Syrus following right behind, but I quickly grabbed their jacket collars and lifted them up slightly. Turning back to me with confused looks, Jaden and Syrus tilted their heads.

''What's up?'' Jaden asked.

''Shouldn't you ask someone's name, after talking to someone.'' I questioned with an admonishing expression and Jaden's eyes widened in realization.

''Oh right!'' He said and turned over to Alexis who was looking as confused as Syrus.

''Hey what was your name again?'' He asked and Alexis hearing his questions looked back between Jaden and Syrus in my hands and me.

''Alexis Rhodes. and you?'' She stated after snickering a little.

''The names Jaden!'' Jaden answered and I let him go, after that he started running off. But I turned to Syrus in my other hand and urged him on.

''Oh! I'm Syrus, n-nice to m-meet you!'' He answered, embarrassedly and I let him go. He quickly sprinted after Jaden.

''Jaden, wait up!'' He shouted.

After he turned a hallway I sighed and shook my head.

''I swear that guy...'' I sighed and Alexis beside me gently laughed.

''Your like an older brother.'' She said and I turned to her with a horrified face.

''Don't say that, I'm not that old!'' I exclaimed and she desperately contained her laughter, turning serious I once again sighed.

''Well, Jaden might need to work on his manners, but I'm really worried about Syrus.'' I said staring at where they had left.

''Huh?'' Alexis let out a dumb noise slightly taken aback. Seeing her questioning expression I sighed.

''He's way to self conscious and socially awkward. It's to the point it affects his dueling in front of crowds, he nearly lost in the duel exam because of it... I'm not sure what caused it, but he has to face his fears eventually, so might as well give him a push, you know.'' I explained and I actually meant it, although sometimes Syrus was pathetic, it was mostly caused by Zane being a pretty shitty brother and ruining all his self-confidence.

''you really are like an older brother...'' Alexis said once more, but this time with much different emotion in her words.

Turning towards her I was surprised by the sight. Her eyes were somewhat dilated and she was staring at the ground. Then I realized a small fact... her brother's still missing. My conscious taking a hit, I felt like shit for having reminded her about something so painful.

Stumbling a little, I tried to change the topic, my hands moving slightly sporadic.

''U-um.. -So is the Obelisk girls dorm dinner starting soon?'' I asked rather rushedly and she took a breath to collect herself and replied. Her face turning into a slight smile when she saw my strained and panicked look.

''Yes, the girls dorm has a custom of starting an hour or two after the boys dorm, because we sneak in better food.'' She replied and it took me a second to process her words.

''...wait what?'' I ask dumbly and Alexis smiles not further explaining.

''Aren't you attending to the Obelisk dinner party too?'' She asked but I shook my head.

''No, I'm in Ra Yellow.'' I replied, pulling on the collar of my jacket. Alexis's eyes widened as she looked back and forth between my jacket and me, seeing her reactions I explained.

''I got first in both the written and practical exam, but I didn't attend prep-school nor did I have enough of a dueling track record to qualify.'' I answered and she belatedly nodded in understanding.

''Oh I see, but doesn't the Ra Yellow dinner start soon anyways?'' Alexis asked.

''...doesn't it start at 7?'' I asked and Alexis nodded.

''It's 6:45.'' She stated, pulling out her PDA with the time.

''Oh shit!'' I unconsciously exclaimed and Alexis reproached me.

''Language!'' Alexis interjected and I unconsciously switched to a different language, something I used to do whenever someone said that on earth.

''Merde.'' I replied with a French accent, but Alexis seemed confused, of course unlike me who had memorized many curse words in different languages for fun, Alexis was 'normal'.

''...what?'' Alexis asked, but I didn't answer.

'Oh right, I forgot this was a kids show.' I belatedly realized and shook my head, right now I need to go before I miss the food.

''Alright I'll be on my way Alexis, see ya around.'' I exclaimed as I sprinted away only to stop on my first few steps and turn around.

''I'm Illumi, by the way!'' I shouted as I turned around and sprinted to the Ra Yellow dorm, leaving Alexis alone.

''Illumi...'' Alexis echoed, but I was already long gone, curtesy of my peak human body.
