Bloody War

"Certainly," Lilith immediately disappeared from my sight.

"Colonel," I turned my attention to the Colonel who was startled because of the sudden ambush. "Those arrows will penetrate the tents. Tell everyone to use any metal, including shields to cover their heads. Go, now!" My voice roared throughout the area, causing everyone who was frozen in horror to move in a hurry.

They grabbed their shields. They huddle up together, creating a huge circle with shields on top of them.

The Emperor and my father personally instructed me to use my power efficiently. Using my power so early during the war was not a wise idea. I growled angrily and run down the hill to join with my group.

Callisto and Io appeared as I grabbed a shield.

"Barbarians, huh?" Io's sarcastic comment was completely ignored by me. I looked at Callisto with serious eyes.

"Help out in group A," I said.

"Hm," Callisto nodded, then disappeared. The other group who was ambushed probably overwhelmed right now. I could've called my demon army and let them finish the enemy off.

But like what the others told me, I must use my power efficiently. Use it when the time is right.

The mages are powerful. We have our own mages, but we can't measure the enemy's power. I'll call all of my demons when it's getting extreme.

"Io, tell me the exact number of our current enemy,"

"Understood," Io, at a high speed, flew toward the enemy's direction.

The arrows are coming closer. I make sure everyone covers themselves fully. In this position, the enemy knew we won't be able to move. With those many arrows aiming at our way, all we can do is to protect ourselves. Then they can execute melee attacks.

Annoying bastards.

The arrows finally fell, piercing the ground and the shields. I heard someone groaning in pain. The shield wasn't that big, so someone must've got hit. I can only growl in annoyance, hoping the arrows will stop so we can move.

Once the arrows stopped, the colonel yelled out an order to attack. Archers grabbed their bows and arrows, swordsmen grabbed their shields and swords, then the mages grabbed their staffs and their enchantment books.

Io returned and told me the number of the enemy.

There's a lot. Twice as much as our army. But it's alright.

My men shouldn't be worried because I joined the war. And those scums should be scared because they will fight a Coordinator.

My men start to move. I summoned my low-leveled demons, and let them help with other groups as well. Apparently, Ibiraven's and Adreah's army has a lot of soldiers. Much more than ours. Their mages are skilled, their assassins too. It'll be a troublesome war. Using my low-leveled demons will suffice the number gap.

Two hours have passed.

The blue sky was enveloped with the color of grey. The air smelled like blood. Cries of agony, and metal being clashed together. The war still going on, I participated in the war using the sword Arden gave me.

Someone else's blood was on my armor, and my silver sword turned crimson.

I could hear the roaring of my demons from another realm. They wanted to join in. They impatiently waiting for me to give them orders.

But not yet. This isn't the time.

"Young master," I heard Lilith's voice from behind me. I turned around and see her slashed an enemy's neck with her long nails. "Report,"

"What is it?"

"Second wave on Ibiraven's army. They're going to use mages. Lavender's informants said they feel strange waves of magic coming from the enemy's side. There's a fifty percent chance that they have magic suppressant,"

Laizar.

That's why my brothers and my demons couldn't locate Laizar's whereabouts. He's a high-skilled mage from a faraway kingdom.

I furrowed my eyebrows. What's worse is that I don't know how many mages Laizar has under his dirty arms.

RECAP :

Laizar was the antagonist, and has tried to take Ezra's power. He ordered his subordinates to kidnap Ezra, then kidnap Arden. And in this episode, Laizar's identity is revealed. He is a mage from another kingdom; Ibiraven.
