Chapter 54: Plans

Having someone drive the car to the back of the apartment complex wasn't hard. The hard part was getting all the parts he needed moved to the apartment as they weren't small in either size or number.

He had to get Matsuda to allow him use one of the vans that had been lying around to move them right after convincing him to let him take them in the first place.

There was a lot of enchantment magic used in that conversation but he managed.

He didn't care much about the car or Matsuda. What he really needed was Matsuda's business license. He needed him to apply for a business license with him as a referral and Sora as the actual owner of the license.

By the time he gets it, Matsuda would simply be one of the many business under him. You can't start a business without having some minio- workers under you.

"When I talked to Dinah about getting a patent attorney, I didn't expect this." Sora said as his eyes twitched a bit.

"Well at least now you know she isn't slacking off." Zatanna said from the couch with a laugh.

'She's taking her role as godmother too seriously.' Sora thought with a wry smile as he held a folder in his hands.

During the past week, he had briefly talked to Dinah about getting a patent attorney for an idea that he had and wanted to use.

As loathed as he was to asking for her help on such things, he figured that she would have some connections seeing as how she knew a lot of people. There's also the fact that she's in the league and has an amount of leeway in some things.

What he didn't expect was a folder containing not only a signed contract with an attorney contract that only needed his signature to close the deal if he was happy with the terms but also a business license with his name on it to be delivered to his doorstep.

'This has Batman written all over it. I don't know what game you're playing but it's not going to work. Dinah may not be aware of what you're trying to do but I know how you think.' Sora thought as he held the license in his hand.

Each time Dinah had visited, he had a [Zone of Truth] prepared and activated to verify each of her words and so far she had been nothing but sincere with her intentions.

Batman on the other hand…he didn't even feel comfortable letting the man in the house.

'That brings up the question. What am I going to do with Matsuda? I don't exactly need his help for a license anymore but I'll still keep a hold on him for now.' He thought as he stored the file in his inventory.

He wasn't on a deadline to make a car that made use of the 'arc reactor' so he had time to focus on other things in the mean time.

'I really need to think of another name for it. It's not really an arc reactor if it can only power a car for a few days.' He thought as he moved to his room to continue working on Rune Magic which was currently on level 20.

It took a lot of knowledge potions for him to learn so much in such short time. The time it took to prepare and inscribe runes varied with each one and took steady hands to do it.

One small mistake and he could end up bringing the apartment down, a disaster that he wanted to avoid at all cost.

What he wanted to achieve with the runes was simple yet very complicated. He wanted to create the ultimate weapon, a weapon that embodied his quest for knowledge and understanding all there is.

His mind had gone to two different items from different realities. First of all was skill hunter, the nen ability of the leader of the phantom troupe, Chrollo Lucilfer.

It allowed Chrollo to use the abilities of those he had copied. The second was the darkhold from the marvel universe otherwise known as the book of the damned.

Those two gave him a rough template of what he wanted to achieve. As such, he was putting so much time and effort into Rune Magic and Magic Theory.

Magic Theory was the bedrock of all magic; how it worked, why it worked and the mechanics behind it.

Should he master it, he would even be able to create his own spells with the knowledge.

All of these were long term goals but he'd speed up the process if he needed to. He was a bit impatient and unable to contain himself when it came to this particular matter.

He threw his shirt unto the bed as he gulped down a potion of knowledge. With a swift motion, ten shadow clones appeared in the now crowded room.

"You know what to do." He said as five of them left the room, moving the other room to give each group some space to work.

The main Sora simply sat on the bed with a few books about magic around him as he continued from where he left off, not forgetting to activate his sharingan.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He bought a building.
It would have been the most impulsive thing he had done except for the fact that it wasn't. After getting a license without Matsuda's help, he had more or less shoved that plan into the trash and went about his next step.
He had more ideas that didn't include the man one bit. One of which a building was needed.
'I guess it can't be called a business without a headquarters.' He thought as he toured the empty halls of the 25 story building.
Where did he get the money for it?
The last month was spent between his research and studies and rooting out a few gangs in Tokyo.
Despite what you'd expect, he didn't kill them. He simply got them under his control with a bit of mind magic. He wouldn't stop them from their usual activities except a few inhumane ones like human trafficking, everything else was game.
If you control the head, the legs will follow.
With him in control of a decent number of large gangs, he had access to their 'hard earned money'. Add that to what he got from Kenji and a bit of his own money, he was able to afford it.
Gangs in Tokyo were surprisingly rich despite the poor looking state of some of their members.
It was certainly even more surprising to be approached by a twelve year old wanting to buy a large building like this but once again, magic proved to be useful.
He used most of the remaining money to order equipment and have them delivered and installed.
He already had a few plans to jumpstart his business and regain that spent money. The first one being the scroll device from the show RWBY.
It took him a while but he was able to build a main server to connect and allow it to function. It wouldn't work outside of Japan until he built such servers in other cities but that was for another time and when he wished to expand.
The ground floor was comprised of the reception area and then the store area where his inventions would be sold.
He already had a fully functional scroll ready for use, all that remained was to make more…many more.
'I've got my work cut out for me.' He thought as he exited the building. He stared at the name written in bold at the top of the building.
Blume Corporation.
That sign was unnecessarily expensive. He cringed as he remembered paying for it to be done.
'This thing better sell or It's back to square one.' He thought he sent a text through his newly developed scroll before dropping it in his pocket.
A few seconds later, blue sparks appeared, spinning in front of him before it formed a portal with said sparks still around the edges.
Looking into the portal, he saw the inside of his apartment before he finally walked through it.
"It looks like you finally got it down." Sora said to Zatanna who had an accomplished look on her face as the portal closed behind Sora.
"Yep and it only took a few trips to the North Pole to do it." She quipped with a dry but still happy smile.
Imagine his surprise when he found Zatanna learning the spell used by the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj.
Aldous had a wide range of spells he recreated and they were all transcribed in the grimoire for her to learn.
Sometimes he thought about how unfair that was until he reminded himself that he had Aldous' entire library in his inventory to use at his leisure.
"There's some food in the microwave if you're hungry." She said, laying a light kiss on his cheek before sitting back down on the couch.
She had been getting bolder as the day passed, not that Sora was opposed to it either way.
"So, when are you going to officially open business?" She asked as Sora made his way to the kitchen.
"If nothing goes wrong, I'd say about a month. I'll probably get someone from the sanctuary to run the reception area and the shop."
"I also have to spread the word about it and start advertising. I was able to get the patent though, so at least part of the work is done." He explained with a sigh as he brought out a plate of food from the microwave.
After more than three weeks, his patent was finally addressed. They considered it to be a step in technological advancement so they pushed it forward.
He would admit that he got lucky. It would normally have taken weeks if not months to even get your application looked at, not to talk of approved but he managed it.
He could only expect something bad to happen to counter this good luck.
"So much work to do and I have to figure out most of it myself." He sighed tiredly.
'Whoever said starting a company was easy should burn in hell.' He thought as Zatanna chuckled.
"You'll work things out. Besides I'll help out where I can so you're technically not alone." She said.
"And I appreciate that." He commented as he took a bit of soup into his mouth.
'If only magic was as easy as technology.' He thought wistfully as he continued with his food.
