Chapter 14

"I-is this for real?"

"Yes HIHIHI."

"Thank you, Sky," I say, lightly pinching his cheeks.

"I was supposed to give you the mother of that, but your mother wouldn't let me."

They give me a puppy golden retriever.

"Why?"

"Your father has a dog allergy."

"I'll advise Steve to keep this adorable puppy with him."

"He likes dogs as well."

"Thank you, Da," I said, hugging him for the joy I'm experiencing right now.

"What time are you guys leaving?" he inquired of Dean, and I ignored him, preferring to play with the puppy and Sky instead.

"Sky, what do you want to call him?"

"Boba," he replied and I grin. In any case, the name he suggested is perfect for the puppy.

"His name is Boba."

Sky is overjoyed to be able to play with him. And Boba makes me feel at ease.

I don't recall saying anything to Mom about it. I'm not sure what her reaction will be. On the other hand, even though I am in this situation, I deserve to know the truth.

"Sky, do you want me to be your sister?" I inquired, despite the fact that he was unaware of such matters.

"Yap," He replied and then hugged me. I hugged her back.

A woman about my mother's age walks in.

"Shiloa? Is that you?" I was taken aback; how did she know me?

"Honey, she doesn't know you so far."

"How did that happen?"

"She got amnesia."

"I'm sorry, my ghad. I didn't know."

"It's all right, Ma'am." Dad introduced her as his wife.

"Hello, Ma'am," I said as I reached for his hands in the air, expecting shakehands.

"I'm glad you came to see us."

"Ma'am, it's a pleasure to meet you."

"Come on, Shiloa, get rid of the formalities and refer to me as your Mom."

"How come you aren't angry with me?"

"Why would I?"

"Because I'm your husband's daughter by another woman."

"That's fine with me, and you didn't do anything wrong either."

"I appreciate it."

Sky was too preoccupied with Boba to notice his mother.

"Sky?" she asks, catching Sky's attention.

"Mom!" he exclaimed as he ran up to her and kissed him.

"You're happy with Shiloa?" She wondered aloud as I awaited his response, which was a broad smile.

"I apologize, M-mom; I don't remember anything; thank you for your kindness."

"Always welcome, dear; feel free to come here." I hugged her back.

"We've got to get going, Mom," I look to Dean.

"What?"

"How come he didn't tell you about his relationship with you?" Mom.

"He didn't, which surprised me because he's my half brother."

"My children are Sky and Elijah."

"Elijah? You haven't told me your name since the day I returned to school."

"I'm just afraid you're going to get a headache."

"Your Boo is so bad, Sky," I joked.

What Sky did gobsmacked us.

"Ouch." He slapped him.

"Oops! Boo Bad. Hihi." He covers his mouth to stop laughing.

"Mom and Da, we have to go."

"Take care." Both of them replied.

We were about to get into his car when we heard a yell...

"Boo! Wannnttt." Sky is running toward us.

"Be careful," Elijah warns him.

"Sky wants to go," he says, and he's adorable. He appears to be asking permission from me.

"You're coming with us, captain!"

Because I'm holding Boba at my right arm, I grab his hand with my left hand. Elijah was kind enough to open the door for us. Sky is in the back seat with Boba; don't worry, the seat belt is fastened. Elijah driven away from their home.

"Elijah, I actually remember something."

"What exactly is it?"

"You said you don't know if they still live there a while ago."

"I'm sorry about that; I'm just afraid you'll be in pain."

"You know what, right now I want to grab your neck."

"HAHAHA, you can't blame me," rolling my eyes at him, and he laughed.

"Would you like some food, Sky?"

"Jabi!" he exclaims, his enthusiasm contagious.

We exchange glances. Elijah and I are looking into each other's eyes. We have something in common. Jollibee is my all-time favorite.

We returned home and witnessed my brother's anxiety. Papers are strewn across his living room table.

"We're here!" I exclaimed, grabbing his attention and allowing Boba to explore the condo. Sky, on the other hand, ran towards my brother, and by that I mean his brother.

"Teve! Sky is here!" he shouted, his voice so sweet for a three-year-old.

"You've came."

My brother's stress washed away with Sky's hug. Well, with that kid's face and jolliness, you'll be able to forget about whatever problem you're having.

"Da already give it to you?" He asked and was referring to the puppy.

"You know where he'll be staying."

"Of course, he's welcome here."

"Why didn't you tell me Elijah is our half brother, Steve?"

"For the same reason that Elijah told you."

"You guys work together, huh?"

"It's just that we're scared."

"I see what you're saying."

We then sat down to eat our dinner. Are you curious about our ages? Steve, who is twenty-three years old, is a young man. Elijah is twenty-two years old, while I am sixteen.

I'll tell you about Elijah and me when we were young. Sky's mother told me about it after I questioned it at their house. When they went abroad, Elijah's mother was pregnant with him. His grandmother and grandfather are opposed to his parents' relationship, so they forced Mom to separate from Da. Six years have passed since my mother and father reconciled, and I was born. My Mom and Da's relationship didn't work out, so they split up once more. That is all there is to it.

Sky was obstinate about not returning home. He simply wants to stay with me and sleep with me, so we have no choice but to let him stay. Elijah will return to pick him up in the morning.

"Loa?"

"Hmm?"

"Would you mind telling me a story?"

"Sure."

He fell asleep after I read him a story. I sleep with my back to the bed as well.

Sky greeted me with kisses when I awoke.

"Wake up Loa! Class class class!" I almost forgot it was Monday.

"Hello, sweetheart!"

"Ouch!" I pinch his cheeks, which explains his reaction.

"Go into the living room and I'll take a bath."

Mom called while I was preparing.

"Why didn't you tell me, Shiloa?"

"What I did not tell you?"

"You went to see your father."

"Mom, all I want to do is figure things out."

"I understand, but what if he hurts you?"

"Why would he hurt me? They aren't like that, Mom."

"Just don't tell your father," she said, referring to my current father.

"Yeah, I've got to get going."

"Take care. I love you." I hung up the phone and walked into the living room.

We ate breakfast, and Boba has been very active this morning. He wants to play, but I have my class.

"Steve, go ahead and play with him; I'll get my stuff first."

I noticed something on my bed as I was about to get my bag.

"STEVE!"

"Yes?"

"What is this?"
