A week had gone by and Kai was almost back to his old self. Being able to go up and down the stairs and do things for himself came a hell of a lot easier with the staples taken out, although Jinn and Saya were still making sure he didn't overdo it.

Sitting on the couch in the living room, Jinn sat normally while Kai leaned up against his boyfriend's chest with his feet on the sofa. Looking down at his phone, Jinn let out a barely audible sigh as he put his vibrating phone on silent. Richard had been texting him over and over asking if they could meet to talk for the last few days, but Jinn hadn't responded, he didn't feel that staying in contact or dragging this out would help the situation.

"I'm kinda hungry.", Kai whined as his stomach began to growl.

"Well, you've most certainly got your appetite back, what do you want to eat? I'll go pick it up, I need some air.", said Jinn.

Tilting his head up, Kai looked up at Jinn, his handsome face quite stern, he was definitely annoyed. Feeling a little uneasy, Kai sat up slowly to place himself against the chair, and although Jinn was lost in thought, he quickly placed his hands-on Kai's shoulder to help guide him. After he placed his back against the chair, Kai took a quick glance at Jinn, his face unchanging and Kai let out a soft sigh as he glanced down at his lap fiddling with his fingers. Jinn had been acting a bit strange lately, getting lost in his thoughts and was unusually quiet. Perhaps Jinn was starting to feel boxed in, after all he had stayed at Saya's house with Kai for almost three weeks straight, going back to work after his vacation had ended and coming right back over.

As Kai pulled himself deeper into his thoughts, Jinn suddenly placed his large hand over top of Kai's, stopping him from fiddling with his fingers. "Why are you anxious? What's wrong?", Jinn asked.

"I'm not anxious.", Kai responded.

Letting out a chuckle, Jinn squeezed Kai's smaller hands in his own, "you really think that I can't tell when something's bothering you babe?"

Quickly turning his head toward Jinn, Kai took a deep breath before puffing out his cheeks, letting it out slowly. "I could ask you the same question Jinn.", he finally spoke.

Raising a brow, Jinn turned toward Kai, "What do you mean?"

"You've been acting strange and I haven't said anything, but I've noticed. If you need space, I understand. I'll be fine until Saya gets home.", said Kai staring back down at his lap.

"Wait…what? Babe, no that's not…", said Jinn, allowing his words to trail off as he turned his body all the way toward Kai. "Look, that evening I showed up when you first got out of the hospital, I told you that you weren't a bother and I meant it. I just have some shit on my mind is all. Family business, work etc.."

"Are you sure?", said Kai glancing back up at Jinn to see that same dimple revealing smile on his handsome face and Kai couldn't help but to smile back.

"Yes, I'm sure now tell me what you want to eat so I can go and get back, my stomach's starting to collapse on me.", Jinn joked as he was beginning to feel hungry as well.

"Hmm.", Kai hummed before he got an idea. "I honestly just want chicken fingers."

"That's it?", said Jinn narrowing his eyes at Kai.

"Mn.", Kai nodded.

"And you're sure? You're not gonna call me as soon as I'm on my way back asking for anything else?" said Jinn, his tone obviously disagreeing.

Letting out a giggle, Kai tried his best to straighten his smiling face, although he was failing miserably. "I am sure, I will not call you for anything else." said Kai raising a stiff hand to his forehead, giving Jinn a salute.

"Okay then.", said Jinn with a smirk, getting up and leaning over Kai. Lowering his head so that it was positioned in front of Kai, Jinn leaned closer, not having to say anything as Kai was already lifting his head, placing a peck on Jinn's lips. Still with a smirk, Jinn stood up, rolling his shoulders back, "I'll be right back okay?", he said as he grabbed his phone, placing it in his back pocket along with his wallet.

"Kay babe.", said Kai as he resumed watching the show that neither one of them had been paying attention to.

After Jinn had left out and closed the door, he let out a heavy exhale pulling his phone out of his back pocket, unlocking it and looking at the many messages from Richard. Letting out a sigh, he finally decided to respond, his message saying, "Hey, I have some time, meet me at Freddy's Fried Chicken place, it's right down the street from your apartment." As Jinn made his way down the stairs, his phone buzzed rather quickly, almost right after he had pressed send, Richard saying "I'll be there."

When Jinn had arrived at Freddy's Fried Chicken place, he parked and went in looking at the menu. As he read through it, Jinn's phone buzzed. Thinking it was Richard saying that he was there, Jinn unlocked it quickly, only to see that it was from Kai.

"Hey babe, so I kinda want cheese fries too, but you can't get mad because I only promised I wouldn't call you.", the message read.

"Touché.", Jinn said aloud, letting out a chuckle before walking up to the counter. After Jinn ordered, he paid, and sat down, anxiously waiting for Richard to walk through the door. After a twenty minute wait, the lady finally brought a bag over to the counter.

"Sir your food is ready.", said the woman at the counter and Jinn got up to grab it. Glancing at the door one last time, he sighed, walking over to get his food. "Thanks", he said with a smile, turning around and walking back over to sit back down.

For another fifteen minutes Jinn waited, glancing at his phone to see the time. He then unlocked it, sending Richard a text. "Hey, are you almost here? I can't stay for much longer."

After another fifteen minutes, Jinn decided to get up and leave, it wasn't fair to leave Kai waiting especially when the man had no idea what he was up to. Stepping outside of the door, Jinn looked to his right and his left, both sides of the sidewalk, there still being no sign of Richard.

"Whatever.", he said under his breath as he made his way to his car.

"Sir, you do realize that the time is running right? We should move or you will have paid me quite a bit for nothing.", the cab driver spoke as he was getting tired of sitting still.

"Hold on a little longer please.", said Richard politely with a smile to the cab driver and as he did, he saw Jinn coming out of Freddy's Fried Chicken place. Putting the food in the passenger's seat, Jinn got into his car, put on his seatbelt, and started his ignition. "Hey, do you see that white Tesla with the black rims pulling out of the chicken place?", said Richard.

"Yeah.", the cab driver responded.

"Can you follow it?", Richard asked, his expression nervous as he anxiously awaited the cab driver's response.

Glancing behind him for only a second, with a brow raised the cab driver simply nodded, putting his car in drive, and pulling out.

After driving behind Jinn for almost fifteen minutes, Richard glanced around the neighborhood that they were in. It was a nice area, and the houses weren't that big, but it was strange, he had never been in this part of town before.

With a few turns left, Jinn's Tesla finally turned down Haines street, a block heavily shaded by trees, and small, but nice houses. As Jinn pulled over and parked, the cab driver stopped a few feet away, putting the car in park and looking at Richard in his rearview mirror. "Okay, what now?", he asked.

Watching closely as he waited for Jinn to get out of the car, Richard let out a sigh, "so this is where you've been hiding.", he thought to himself. "Could you just wait a moment? I want to see what house he goes into.", Richard responded, not really caring anymore as his pride had gone out the window of this cab the moment, he had stooped low enough to have this driver follow his ex-boyfriend. Although it made him feel a bit crazy, Richard wanted to know, no, he needed to know why Jinn was so obsessed with that selfish brat of a man. That man that had abandoned him, that man that had, had Jinn drunkenly rambling and spilling his guts, that man who had confused Jinn into thinking that they were soulmates, what was so damn good about Kai?!

As Jinn grabbed the food and got out of the car, he closed his door, pressing his key to lock it and made his way up the stairs.

"Can you pull up a bit?", said Richard.

"Sure thing.", said the cab driver, taking his car out of park and pulling up closer so that Richard could get a better view.

Seeing that the house had a red awning and a black screen door, as Jinn went into the house, Richard let out a sigh. "Alright, I'll put in a new address, you can go now.", said Richard, his voice soft, but sad.

"Okay.", said the cab driver as he once again took the car out of park and drove off. Inhaling deeply, Richard let out a loud exhale, that had been to easy and he was starting to feel bad about what he had done, at least now he would have the chance to come back when Jinn was at work.
