"Clowns, get in."
The individuals clad in black tactical suits and face masks were puzzled after hearing this. They were on their last hope when suddenly the GMV opened the two side doors on their side.
Looking inside and seeing the GMV unoccupied, they didn't know what to think.
"What should we do Leader?" Asked one of the members.
"What do you mean by that." The Leader bore a stern look at his comrade.
"I know what you may think, it's unreasonable but we are in the open and..." He seemed shocked by what happened next making him shut his mouth in horror.
Debris and dust particles covered the right side of the face. They were casually laying out their options when suddenly a .50 cal bullet whizzed past them to the concrete wall behind.
Pu!
A fist-sized hole was seen in the wall behind one of the blacked-clothed individuals. It was an intense moment and everyone acted immediately raising their rifles to welcome their foes.
At the same moment came in the voice on their comms.
"GET IIN! FOULS! I CAN'T CONTROL IT FOR LONG AND THE ENEMY IS ½ A MILE AWAY FROM YOUR LOCATION. AND BE SURE YOU WILL FACE THE CONSEQUENCES WHEN YOU ARRIVE BACK AT THE BASE!"
They were looking at each other for confirmation. It was unbelievable as they knew this monster. It was an impenetrable ground moving fortress. From its outer armor to its inside features, it was so imposing.
A half a mile away from their location. Several Special Forces soldiers were seen at an easy run while shooting in a certain direction.
Ta, ta, ta, ta...
Da, da, da, da...
It was so fierce that made the people who were hiding inside their houses crouch even further deep in fear that a stray bullet would rob them of their last breath.
"They aren't taking the bait. Bravo 6, make it a little real and serious." Bravo 1 said as he listened to Command who had control over the GMV but still their prey wasn't aboard.
Bravo 6 replied with an okay and stopped to raise The Angel of Death in her arms. The whole team stopped in their tracks to cover the sniper.
Bang!
A bullet left the muzzle of the rifle and ricochet at an incredibly high speed to its target. It seemed like time froze as it cut through the air.
Pa!
The moment it hit its target, metallic sounds were heard and one member from the other party staggered a few steps back nearly falling down. Only shock was seen on his face as he turned pale in color.
...
"Hhmp!"
A frown appeared on Rue's face after seeing the two new individuals. Vega and Rue were still in conversation when she saw the two jump from a height of about two hundred feet from the ground.
It was mind-blowing if one had to think of it in another way. Anyone normal would be rendered paralyzed after such an amazing action but the two individuals in her line of sight were alright.
It only confirmed her darkest fears. They didn't use their abilities to descend from the helicopter. And that only meant that they were concealing this fact to the rest of the world or their abilities were limited. But the worst thing is that it confirmed their body constitution which was probably high.
'This is going to be a problem.'
As Vega saw the teenage facial expressions change in a few seconds, she decided to look back to what caught the teenager's attention.
They heard the helicopter approach their location and even the sound of something that came in contact with the ground. But they were skeptical as they were engrossed in their own conversation.
Kai seemed to sense the eyes of the other party before stopping and staring at Rue. A battle of eyes ensued between the two making Vega as the spectator tilt her head so that she could get the whole picture.
No one seemed to be giving up soon so Vega who has been ignored cleared her throat and started speaking.
"Mmh! Mmmh! Mh!"
"You seem to be trespassing." Her gaze turned cold and a distant fear displayed itself on her face when looking at Kai.
"Am I?" Kai answered indifferently while shifting her gaze to Vega.
"And you actually have the guts to show your face after all the death, misery and suffering you have caused in this once beautiful and calm City of Angels." Vega said her tone seemingly accusing the other party.
"Yes! But am not here for you." Kai seemed not at all inferior as she looked at Vega when she answered.
"Who are you here for?" Vega asked clearly knowing the answer to that question.
"Wait and see, you must be patient to achieve great things."
"..." Vega thought that Kai was rude enough to see her as nothing.
"What makes you think you'll achieve what you came for?" Vega asked after seeing Kai walking towards her.
"What can you do to stop me?" Kai asked not even stopping in her slow advance.
A few meters behind them, Thanos was seen inspecting the Hypersport. He had spent the last 3 minutes studying it without approaching but hadn't found anything. It was frustrating for him.
As he could not figure anything out sooner he decided to approach and try to open the door in hopes that maybe he will be awarded with the mystery that surrounds this car.
Ttzzz!
Tdzzz!
Ttzzz!
As soon as he touched the surface of the car. He felt it was so smooth for a car that transversed from one place to another in this busy city of Los Angeles.
As he was still admiring the car, Aya had already gathered all the information she needed from him. Then all of a sudden joules of electricity coursed through his hand and body making him feel like he was being tickled. At first, it was just enough to not scare him but as the seconds ticked by, he was caught off guard and shocked by what followed.
He couldn't retract his hand back. It was glued on the sport and for what the bonding agent was, only one person knew. He couldn't believe his eyes. It was impossible for a being like him and something like that to happen.
It was just simple, he was mighty but forgot where he came from. It was simple for someone to forgo all attachments associated with their past if they broke past their threshold. Aya just tricked him to come closer as she knew that someone with his thinking capacity and experience would think of all the tricky possibilities of what would happen to him if he engaged himself, and forget the smallest bits of information that are always there in the open displaying themselves ready to be taken into account.
Aaaarrgghhh!
Thanos let out a wail that attracted the nearby people. They all glanced back to see a trembling Thanos with visible strikes of electricity displaying their wrath on his body.
Kai looked at her comrade for a few seconds before looking the other way and continuing her walk forward.
...
'I am hungry.' That's what my mind made me think. I didn't understand anything that was going on. First was the sheer power that was coursing through my body. Then the part that I had lost absolute control over my body. Also, I was experiencing great hunger, I was sure that my stomach could hold on for a while before it began rumbling. But this was different. It was hunger and thirst for power.
And the last fact was the direction that I was headed. Everyone was running away from that place but I was knocking on straight, without fearing anything.
"Hey, son get out of here that thing is going to blow at any time now and you don't want to be caught up in the middle." An old-looking soldier who was helping the pilot of their helicopter stopped for a second and warned me. But seeing that I gave no response he reached out to hold my shoulder.
I didn't want to head in that direction at all but what could I do? I think that the gods have taken over my body and I was getting retribution.
I wanted to say something to the old soldier a few inches from me but everything I tried was in vain. My head turned and looked at the soldier. I could only see fear and sweat covering his face within a few seconds after our eyes met.
He withdrew his hand and hurried away at a shocking speed. I wondered what could make a man that fearful, was I that horrible looking on the outside? Or was it something else?
I knew that my veins and arteries had turned black in color before I pressed the trigger on that rifle not long ago. But seeing that reaction, I started thinking of other possibilities.
My head turned back to look forward and after a few sluggish steps, I was next to the fallen helicopter staring at the different types of ammunition in front of me. Before I could hold one of the biggest missiles in my hands, I heard a scream. It was fierce and shuttered the air as it rushed in my eardrums.
