In a few minutes, we saw the traffic clearing at a slow pace. It didn't take long before the tunnel was cleared with nothing but the lights from above and the distant reflection of the flashing lights through the walls.
We sat still as the first two heavy SUVs passed by at a slow speed. They knew that in one way or the other that we were cornered and had no way out. From the projection on the dashboard, it showed that there was a tight security roadblock at the end of each opening.
So all they had to do now was find us still in the tunnel before they apprehended us.
But that wasn't what greeted them as they paced forth and back for two rounds and not being able to spot us.
I was also shocked. I could see them passing us just a few feet away, but something wasn't right.
"Why can't they see us?" I asked as the curiosity reached another level.
