The Crisis
Theodore, who's sober from crying, rests his back to the window while looking outside, securing his master's loved ones from danger. He's making sure that there are no Asphyxians who will try to attack.
"It's ok, you don't need to protect us from now on" Castiel said slightly tapping his daughter's small legs.
"No, it is still my duty"
"You don't need to beat yourself up, Theodore" Castiel said, showing a small smile to Theodore.
Theodore looks at Castiel returning the smile that shocked Castiel. "Now I know" Theodore said, slightly nodding his head, eyes were closed as he reminisces a smile from a certain someone. "Now I know why Morpheus loves you..." he said now showing a sad smile.
"You know she always talks about you. She said that someday, she will repay you and felt sorry for giving up the responsibility to you... s-she said t-that... she's thankful to have you in her life... a-and me too... I'm thankful. You are such a good person, Theodore" Castiel said wiping some tears from his eyes. "It's so painful to see's gone... I-I can't cry from my fullest... I need to be strong for my baby... I need to raise her well, like what Morpheus wanted to be"
"I know you can do it" Theodore said. "I know you are going to be a good parent for her...the last full-blooded Hart"
"What do you mean? will you take her away from me?!" Castiel asked nervously.
"You are a mortal and our DNA is more dominant than your kind so Morpheus's DNA is on that kid. I mean, you might be her father but she's Morpheus's daughter, you'll understand once she grows up" Theodore said. "about taking her away... I will try my best to avoid that situation... but when Liberum needs her, I'll come for her and sit her to the throne no matter what"
"Are we going to see you again?" Castiel asked.
"When Liberum needs her---" Theodore look at the baby found her eyes staring at him and as their gaze met, for the first time he saw a vision, not that clear but he saw something that confused him yet he didn't tell it to Castiel. "---I'll come back" and he blinked.
"Then I wish that I won't see you ever again"
"It seems like it is unavoidable" he mumbled.
After several days that Theodore stayed on the mortal world called Earth, he came back to Liberum and saw how miserable it become. There's a lot of structural damage and corpses laying on the ground. His legs felt so weak as he stumbles and cried on his knees. He felt that all of the misfortunes is his fault as he continuously punches the ground until it bleeds. Nathan who just having his round on securing the place saw his brother, quietly walk his way to him, and gently pats his brother's back while keep telling him its ok. He can sense how miserable his brother is right now but he can't bring himself to ask.
"What am I going to do now?" Theodore sobbed. Nathan who has a high IQ doesn't know what to say. Even her intellectual ability can't solve nor answer his brother's problem... he too feels miserable to run his brain with answers as he was tired and starving for 2 days.
Days, months, and years had passed since the tragedy happens. The Asphyxians are winning the war at that time yet they didn't obtain the Liberum as they fought for their land and when the Liberum was going to meet their end, Asphyxians retreated and leave Liberum with massive damage. So many Liberians died, their fine land for crops dried and their homes turn into ruins making the child at the age of 10 do labors to help their family to feed themselves with a small amount of rice and potatoes from a neighboring country. The Liberians lose their hopes to live so some of them commit suicide to finish their suffering. Robbery and murders occur making it hard for them to get back to the peace that once they have. The supply of foods is not efficient causing a shortage to the people, some animals also dying due to the lack of supply. The crops are growing but progressing very slow as the soil is not healthy. Theodore, as the current ruler of Liberians, got a lot of criticism but it doesn't phase him as he still does his works.
"Arcadia's willing to help us, they are willing to fund us." Nathan said sighing with relief as he reads the letter from them.
"Cody is sure reliable" Theodore said.
"He is, a good friend also," Nathan said grinning.
Arcadia helped them by giving some supply of foods, animals, and crops. In the beginning, it was hard because some Liberians stole the supplies but as time goes on, the soil gets healthier, the crops starting to grow so fast, the Liberians started to fix their homes with the help of some Arcadians that Cody deployed.
After 17 years, Liberum moved on and they peacefully live for the rest of their time and Asphyxians turn to be quiet for that long. Theodore dispatched some soldiers or knights to investigate it yet no one came back and assumed that they are dead and after a week a mysterious man came in front of Theodore. Theodore unsheathed his sword and point it at the man.
"I know you," Theodore said.
"It's our second meeting, I guess. Belial Kagesuke at your service!" Belial said enthusiastically showing his teeth for grinning too much.
"What an Asphyxian doing here, you sure are brave don't you?"
"My master delivered a message for you. She said that she will kill that kid"
"She? Who the f*ck is your master?!"
"Oops, did I just revealed my master's identity?" he said.
"Why are you telling me this?" Theodore said getting suspicious.
"To change the history, I guess?" Belial said being playful.
But no, he's not playing... they are not playing.
"What do you mean?"
"Take that child if you don't want her to get killed. She's the last hope of Liberum right?" Belial said now gaze turning dark but later on, he smirked and get engulfed with a shadow once again.
"What are you planning ruler of Asphyxians? what are you trying to do?"
