Ellie

Silvian's eyes were glittering as he watched her walk along the unmarked landscape without a trace of uncertainty. Silvian thought that this place must have been Paradise. As he looked up at the sky he was stunned. It is astonishing that there are actually planets within view in the sky here. He could see the oceans and land masses on one of them and the other one was just a blur of blue and white.

After a while something snapped him out of his astounded gaze. Suddenly it was really cold, like it was the dead of winter all of the sudden even though there weren't any signs of snow anywhere. Silvian could see that although she was trying to hide it, Ellie's face was growing more and more concerned the colder it got. It was only now that he realized how much she was bundled up.

"Don't worry we're almost to the town and we can get you some dry clothes." Ellie said with a nervous smile.

The cold was starting to sting everywhere the clothes touched and seemed to seep down to his bones.

To his horror his clothes were actually starting to freeze and bits of ice were becoming more visible.

Not long later some buildings came into view in the distance. Silvian was rather surprised at how fast he was walking he knew his body was struggling to move with his clothes stuck to his body. She was dragging him along with conviction in her eyes.

'She knew the cold was coming...' He thought

'Was this normal? It was warm until now though.'

As Ellie made it to the town they heard a loud voice call out towards them. She visibly finched at the voice calling her. The voice grew closer at an alarming rate.

"Ellie!!! where are my clothes I sent you off with?? Did you leave them somewhere randomly again? I won't pay you if they are frozen solid again. You knew this cold was coming but you kept putting it...." The woman with bright orange hair and sky blue eyes trailed off seeing Silvian. "Who is this?"

" I found him in the river, I don't know where he came from... but please help him?" Ellie pleaded

*Sigh* "Bring him along to Melvyn." The woman glared back at them, causing them both to flinch this time. "and you. We are going to have a talk about those clothes you left behind. This doesn't mean I'm letting it go that you skipped out on your work "

Ellie looked downcast after that which made Silvian suddenly apologize without a second thought. He even offered to go find whatever she left behind. Ellie and the woman glanced at one another, then the woman laughed heartily.

"See Ellie? Even this kid is more reliable than you."

The woman was still giggling when she suddenly stopped and took a deep breath. Before yelling...

"Melvyn!!!! Come out! I am not walking into that filthy place!! You have a guest!!!"

A loud voice rang back angrily from within this big building made of stone. It seemed like it only made Silvian flinch. 'Was this also normal?'

"Ring the bell like a normal person Melva!!! I'm not deaf! Though I might be if you keep yelling like that every. darn. day!!!!! " The voice was coming closer and closer, and was incredibly loud when the door opened. "What do you WANT M. E. L. V. A."

Melva grinned and pushed Silvian towards him with so much strength he couldn't stop himself from falling forward into this orange haired man named Melvyn. He looked just like Melva.

"You have a guest thanks to your daughter. You get to handle it from here. Ellie. Come now, you need to make up for the work you missed." said Melva

Melvyn looked at the man in front of himself. After seeing the ice all over him he sighed. Why was his daughter such a nosy kid? She didn't take after him at all, that's for sure."Come on in kid. Get into some dry clothes already."

Silvian looked at the clothes that were dropped into his arms. This was the first time in so long he had such new looking clothes and they were softer than anything he ever owned himself. As much as he wanted to accept them, he knew nothing was ever free.

"I can't take these... I can't pay for them... I'm sorry for the trouble.. thank you for the offer " Even after saying that he didn't really want to let go of those clothes.

Unaware of the very obvious longing showing on his face.

Melvyn was stunned at this kid, he was frozen solid and was worried about paying for clothes? What was wrong with this kid, did he have a death wish? He even looked like someone scolded him harshly with that sad face.

*Sigh* "Look kid, those are my old clothes. I don't care if you wear them, but if you really want to pay for them I can put you to work and that'll be a perfectly fine form payment. You can do some work around here and I'll give you a place to stay for a few days. Especially seeing as the cold won't stop for a while. You do realize you won't survive in those clothes that you're wearing right now right? Just take my offer kid." Melvyn couldn't just leave it be and let him die. Maybe he did know where his daughter got that trait from after all.

Silvian smiled at Melvyn's words and thought

'As long as it was something that he could do he would do it'. There were even more sparkles in his eyes now as he excitedly looked around for a place to change out of his clothes and into these new ones. The fabric was so soft, There was this light blue long sleeve shirt along with some long black pants. They even gave him a white jacket with fur lining the collar. Though what he was most excited about, was the socks and underwear. He did technically have some but they had so many holes that they could barely even be considered clothes anymore.

After trying on the clothes he ran his fingers through his hair and was trying to look a little bit more presentable before he decided to walk out of this empty room he was shown to use. With his old tattered, patched, ripped, and vaguely blood stained clothes in hand. Silvian walked around hoping to find Melvyn and ask him what exactly he needed help with.

Melvyn saw Silvian and was awestruck while thinking 'This kid....' . He looked like a totally different person and was even beaming with joy at just some old clothes. 'What happened to make him so thankful like this?'

"Hey kid, you should get some rest, you must be exhausted... no? Then sit and chat with me and my wife Hazel". He motioned to a woman that was the spitting image of Ellie, just a tad bit older.

Hazel brought over some drinks and one was offered to Silvian but before he could speak " Go ahead and take it dear.. Warm up a little bit okay?"

Nobody has ever been this kind to him before today... Tears fell involuntarily as he held this cup of warm tea. He gripped the cup tightly with one hand and wiped his tears with the other.

The couple was shocked at this reaction. But after looking at one another they then were sure of one thing about this man. He has been treated incredibly badly in the past. But neither of them would ever know just how right they were, and just how bad it truly was for him before they met him.

"Thank you.. I'm Silvian... "
