Chapter 17 - The Handshake Of Friendship And Threat

Luan and Angela followed left the mountain after discussing about benefits.

Just after they left it, a small group of people came towards them with not so happy face.

"What did you do to our leader?!" One of the guys asked.

"Yeah! He wouldn't be trashed by someone like you!"

Following them, others also shouted at the two.

"You guys shut up!!" Alden said eyes pressed closed.

His single shout was enough to calm the crowd of people down instantly.

"B-but boss why are you following these people?" One of the people asked.

"...These two saved me, that's only natural"

Everyone gasped and looked at Angela and luan.

"We're sorry! please forgive our foolishness!" They all bowed down to the two.

"Alright, now go away and don't show me your face" Luan said nonchalantly.

There were about 30 people here and many of them reached the same realm as luan.

But if he wanted, he could defeat everyone of them so they weren't a threat.

Hearing his words the people turned to Alden and said their goodbye.

'This is impressive. He has became a leader of people stronger than him with that cultivation base.' Luan thought.

The people just followed them from a few hundred meters away.

Luan wasn't too interested in those 500 golds of Alden but his ability of a leader. The first time he saw Alden, luan was quite interested in that. Getting 500 gold was no big deal for the team.

The three of them moved forward until Alden stopped in his tracks.

"My house is just up ahead. I'll get the money for you so please wait here." He told the team.

Luan looked at him and thought for a second before saying ok.

"...Suspicious" Angela spoke.

"Yeah" Luan replied.

'He clearly doesn't want to show us his house. Of course this could be because he doesn't trust us but still. I think he's hiding something...'

A few minutes later a person came to the two. He was the same guy who luan had beaten to a pulp. He had bandages on his head and looked in a miserable state.

"I'm sorry I lost my temper yesterday" he said to luan.

Luan looked at him from head to toe surprised.

'...I didn't mean to make him this terrible.' He thought.

"No, I... I should be the one to say sorry to you." Luan bowed slightly.

"What n-" Before he could say anything else, Alden returned. He had a few sacks on him.

He looked at the three people and hurried fast.

The person saw Alden and ran fast to the other people who were the 'followers of Alden'.

"Here is your money." He placed the sacks in front of luan.

Luan used his 'ring' to store the stuff. Seeing that, Alden widen his eyes including the other people who followed them but he quickly composed himself

Luan moved his right hand towards Alden in a handshake.

"Good trading with you. I hope to do it again" He said.

'Trade...?' Alden thought.

"What's wrong? Don't want another deal?"

"Ah no no that's not the case." Alden shook his head and quickly shook luan's hand.

"By the way..." Alden said and luan waiting for him to say something.

"That guy from before... don't mind him, he just has a low temper. He can't think properly when he's angry." Alden said in an apologetic tone.

"Oh, don't worry about that. I only kill people who annoy me. I don't kill innocents." Luan said with relaxed closed eyes and a smile.

Luan hasn't killed a single human before so this was intended to be a joke. He wanted to have friendly relation with Alden, so he tried to lighten the mood up.

'He is so scary' Alden thought while a drop of sweat dropped from his forehead.

After the matter with Alden was over, luan and Angela went to the exchange Hall.

"We should probably have 2500 gold by now."

Luan and Angela had been killing monsters for the last week. they didn't spend any money on books and other stuff except for food. As they wanted to get everything in one go.

Luan took every element's book tier 2 book and some healing pills and went to one of the receptionist. It took his 1000 gold for everything.

After buying the books, he used the system to memories everything on them.

'This isn't much different from the tier 1 books. The information is only explained in a little more detail and in short words with a few more things.' Luan thought to himself.

Luan and Angela started going towards their house when they saw someone.

A boy no older than 14 with a cold aura on him. He was being accompanied by several Qi realm 5 cultivators. It looked as if they were going somewhere.

People noticed them and kneeled down.

Whoa, that is the second prince! He's coming here!"

"Shut up do you want to die? Don't shout like that!"

"We welcome you second prince"

'The second prince of the Divine Empire of Vazujdus' Luan thought with narrowed eyes. He didn't kneel as the other people.

The second prince noticed this. His and Luan's eyes mate and he stopped.

Luan and Angela also stopped and looked at him. The second prince came forward towards luan. The other people accompanied him and came along.

"Greetings. My name is Lionel. May I know yours?" He said with a dignified gratefulness. He did not rush things and acted calm with a warm smile as he looked at luan.

Lionel brought his hand towards luan elegantly.

'I don't like this guy.' Luan thought without changing his expression on the face.

The second prince "Lionel" was an expert of Qi realm 6.

Despite luan not liking Lionel, he moved his hand forward.

But as soon as he touched it, he felt a massive amount of killing intent was directing at him. No one else but luan and Angela could feel it.

Lionel "concentrated" his killing intent at them so no one else could see it. Luan felt hopeless at his situation.

'I want to kill him!' Luan gritted his teeth. His blood blood boiled and evaporated as he thought that. Angela moved a few steps back with a horrified face.

Lionel's killing intent was as strong as luan's. If he hadn't concentrated it, it would probably have killed most of the disciples in the area close to the prince.

It even affected luan to a certain degree and he felt his heart beat getting faster and faster. But he quickly composed himself and looked at the prince with just as beautiful smile as him.

"My name is Luan, Prince. Nice to meet you."

Luan concentrated every bit of his killing on the prince and used his anger to fuel his killing intent.

Gaining killing intent was not too hard, but making it stronger was. If one wanted to make their killing intent stronger, they would have to either increase their cultivation base, or fight with enemies as powerful as them and stronger or increase their mentality.

The Prince felt absolute terror as he felt the killing intent from luan. Luan had a cool smile on his face but the killing intent he emmited was completely opposite to that.

Lionel quickly composed himself like luan and took his hand back gracefully.

He then whispered in luan's ears.

"You're an interesting person, I will kill you in the outer sect tournament."

Saying that, Lionel continued to where he was going.

When they were far away, Luan's smile turned to frustration and insane anger. His vessels seemed to pop out of his skin his heart started beating with all the emotions.

But he calmed his anger down and looked at Angela.

She fell on the ground when Lionel used his killing intent. Luan noticed this at the time but he didn't go to help her, as an irrational decision could have ended both of their lives.

As strong as luan was, there was so much he could have done to those people. There were multiple people in Qi realm 5th and the prince was in 6th.

'I don't know if I can handle a single person in Qi realm 5, let alone someone from 6.' He thought this and helped Angela up.

She was trembling with fear and as soon as she got up she hugged luan.

"I'm sorry Angela. I am too weak" He hugged her back in regret. He hugged her back and now he could feel how badly that traumatized her. Her eyes we're wide open and she was taking long breaths.

Luan wanted to comfort her but at the same time he felt like he was taking advantage of the situation.

'...Kill' He thought. His cold eyes became reptile-like, threatening to murder anyone who dares look at them.

'I must never become like this again. This is the second time I felt so weak.' He glanced at Angela who was calming down.

'I have to protect her.'
