Chapter 14 - A Psychopath

Luan gave the beast a cocky smile in an attempt to provoke him. The beast looked at him and was not happy at all. He lunged towards him and luan prepared to attack him with the scythe. He used Qi to increase his physical capabilities.

"GAAA!!"

He could see the movements of the beast as clear as day. Luan jumped up and the beast came under him. Just then luan thought of something.

He stored his scythe in the dimensional storage while in the air and landed on the beast's back.

"GRAAAA!!!"

The beast tried to shake him with all his might. He threw himself in every direction, trees and stones to hopefully make Luan leave him.

"Persistent aren't you?!"

Luan clinched to the beast and did not loosen his grip for even a second. He tightened his grip so much his fingers were inside the beast's back. He then used all of his force to tear apart his skin from his body.

The beast's skin in his back was hanging outside his body. He was in an unimaginable amount of pain. His bones could be seen by anyone. His intestines, his stomach and his heart were all also visible. Too much amount of blood was coming out of its body.

Slash!

Luan took his scythe out of the dimensional storage while the beast was running wild and with a vertical strike penetrated the skull in half. The scythe went through his skull into the ground. The beast died instantly.

Luan looked at the beast on the ground.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahaha...." He laughed like a psychopath for a few seconds and but stopped abruptly. He looked at the beast closely.

"I'm stronger now. But why am I not feeling anything? Not even a single spark of emotion. Hatred, Disgust, Anger, Happiness, Nothing. " He looked at the sky.

"It's like...I'm empty"

"Aren't these creatures my stepping stone to revenge?...Oh wait, why am I getting revenge again?"

Angela reached to where the centaur was. It was a huge creature that reached the height of 8 meters. An axe was in his hands that he was using to cut the beast in small pieces in front of him. It was a disgusting sight and Angela almost puked.

She holded herself together and took out her sword from the side and charged straight at centaur.

He noticed her coming and got ready for the fight.

Clash!

Angela's sword and the centaur's axe collided. Angela was pushed back by the strength of his swing.

The centaur was in Qi gathering 2 same as her but he's strength was far greater than that. Centaurs are know for their strength for reasons.

She stabilized herself and quickly started thinking about different plans.

She could use her surrounding to the her advantage. She used the technique luan taught her which increases the physical abilities.

She started dodging the strike of the centaur just before they hit her. Seeing this, the centaur became anger.

"WHY DON'T YOU JUST DIE!!" the centaur said with rage as his vessels were popping out of his body.

"Don't wanna"

Her answer made him even more angery and he started mindlessly swinging the axe everywhere he could.

'Now!' Angela thought as she dodged the next attack and slashed the centaur's arms.

"ARGH!!!"

The centaur cried in pain but she did not stop and slashed his legs as well.

"AHHHH!!!"

The centaur fell on the ground and saliva dripped out of his mouth. He was taking his last breathes.

Angela didn't look at him and started going in the opposite direction. Head down.

But before she got away too far, the centaur spoke.

"Y... you monster. Leaving me to... die like this"

She looked at him with wide eyes.

"Mons... Ter?"

"I guess hu....humans are monsters after all." He was almost dead. his eyes closed and he went into eternal slumber.

"No... no, no" Angela placed both of her hands on her head and looked down.

"I... I'm a monster?"

"Angela!" Luan's voice brought her back to life.

Angela could see him in the distance behind the trees.

"H-Here!" She went towards him.

"Did you finish the mission?"

"Y-Yes"

Luan looked behind her and saw the centaur dead and looked at her again.

"You did great" Although he said this with a smile, it was a hollow one.

"Thank you...." She didn't look him in the eyes the entire time. Seeing this, luan decided to store the corpse in the storage.

"Let's go" He and Angela started going towards the sect to sell the corpse. Angela followed him silently.

'She is always like this whenever she's alone. Even when I'm sleeping, she keeps thinking of something'

'Even if I ask her what it is about she doesn't say anything. Maybe leaving her alone was a bad idea.'

The journey to the sect was a silent one. Luan had experienced complete emptiness when he won the beast fight and Angela was also traumatized by the centaur's words.

Their total journey from traveling and killing the beasts took a little over 3 hours.

When they reached the sect, they went straight to the exchange hall. It was located besides the mission board.

It was a big building with a single Hall and many receptionists on the right while rows of books straight from the door. Luan went to one of receptionist and took out the beast's corpses from his 'ring'.

It was a cheap ring he had brought before. Luan used it to decieve the people that the items comes from this ring. Which was definitely a lie.

The person saw the corpses and after a while of thinking said, "That would be 250 gold for both."

The price of a Qi realm beast in the 2nd minor realm was 100. As for beast in the 3rd realm, it was 150 gold. Price increased by 50 with every realm.

Luan took the money. He had something planned that would take quite a lot of money.

They went to the side where the books were arranged in rows. Every row contained different books. Books for alchemy, runes and weapon crafting. There were books for everything. But they did not went there instead to the row where only a few people were present.

"This is the row where I can get books for elements."
