Chapter 3: Stone Age (3)

Chapter 3 New Hunting ground

After getting a taste of the elephant, the giant serpent started to crave more. No more deers will satisfy him, he wanted something more, like the elephant.

And he will hunt them even if he had to kill every single one of their kind if it meant his growth. For weeks the giant serpent hunted the herd where his first hunt belongs.

Each hunt gained him around 2 meters in size, and by the end of the week he had grown from 14 meters long to 32 meters long.

Each elephant that he eats, he gains around 2 meters in size and with him hunting around 9 more elephants he gains around 18 meters added to his original 14, resulting in 32 meters. 

A huge improvement. A baffling improvement in fact.

However his voracious rampage have not gone unpunished. Due to his new size stealth was completely out of the window. Unless he finds a way to change his scales to camouflage, stealth won't be an option.

But he can managed. After all the only reason why he decided to hunt in stealth was because he didn't want to waste energy but now that he can't resort to that he will go through this the brutish way.

But that doesn't mean he will abandon stealth completely. He is sure there will be situation he will need stealth, maybe not now but in the future.

After killing and devouring an entire herd in just one week his appetite is still not satisfied. Thus, he decided to look for another herd.

The savanna was rich in prey, elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, rhinoceros, gazelle, deers, and hippos.

Just recently, the serpent's diet only consisted of deers and now it decided to not restrain itself anymore on just one type of prey.

He was just playing safe just recently but now he is more than enough. He is strong enough and confident enough to devour everything to his liking.

And so his killing spree started. He ate everything that he could get his hands on. 

Gone was his cautious self. Now that he is proven to be the apex predator of the savanna, he will no longer restrain his appetite.

He ate and ate. He killed and devoured. Every animal in the savanna was not spared. He tasted the sweet nectar and he wanted more. 

He continued to hunt without care for anything. By the end of the second year of his existence he had gone from 32 meters in size to 130 meters tall. Roughly the same size as godzilla.

As he grew in size, his consciousness and thoughts also became more pronounced. However it was not enough to rationalize his mind into stopping his overkill.

However due to his overhunting almost all life in the savanna was gone. He had driven them into annihilation. 

There was no more prey to eat in the savanna except for the humans because he didn't find them appetizing at all. He tried eating one of them but it was not up to his taste. Maybe he could eat them if he had totally nothing but right now there are more options besides them.

The human seemed to have misunderstood his intention as they thought that the serpent not eating them was an act of benevolence not amuzement. The human tribes of all the savanna that witnessed him decided to band together and create one giant clan with him as their god.

And so the human started worshiping him. Which he find amusing to say the least.

But even if he had an entire people of follower that would amuse him, the savanna was no longer sufficient. He had eaten thousand of animals, there are only numbered animals and he knew if he ate them their entire species will cease to exist.

Although he thought earlier that he will eat everyone of them, his ever growing intelligence warned him it would not be wise.

He knew that anymore hunt would lead to total and complete annihilation. And so he decided to take his hunt elsewhere. To the vast ocean where sea creatures are infinite.

He knew that from the beginning, it was just that he was not ready yet to venture to a new field. But now he is ready.

And so he left the savanna and travelled to the shore. His giant body shaking the ground creating bizzare phenomenon. 

The wide grassy field was left with a huge mark, as if a train bulldozed through it. The ground was also not spared as it was marked woth a huge scar.

He have gotten big to the point that his mere movement caused geological changes. 

Tuk…tuk…tuk…tuk…tuk…

He created sounds, sounds that would provoke primal fear, it was slow but loud clicking beats creating a thunderous noise. Each of those clicks sending a wave of frequency to map out his surrounding. 

He headed towards his new destination, his new hunting grounds. The sea.

He moved and slithered and it take long for him to reach the sea. 

He raised his head, towering over the palm trees around him by five times. The salty air of the sea washed over him as the smooth waves splashed on his scaly body.

Slowly he brought down his head submerging it into the water. The water splashed at his weight, then he slithered over, his body spllitting the waves into two as his movement caused giant waves to form.

Each sway of his body sending ripples enough to form gigantic waves. 

Tuk…tuk…tuk…tuk…tuk…

He once again send out echoes through the vast water. Immediately catching the location of his new prey.

His lips arose, eerily similar to a smirk.
