Class Festival 1

Ellias was shocked at John's revelation. A pledge like that wasn't made lightly.

"Are you sure John? I might not always be here and I'm thinking about traveling. It'll be a couple years, but want you to know that."

Both John and Dillion were surprised to hear Ellias might be moving, but quickly accepted it. His family was gone and he was about to become an adventurer. What better time to travel and grow then without any strings.

"I am sure about this. You might not do the best job compared to the crafting guilds, but you put people before the money. And I want to support any and every crafter like that." Ellias felt a sense of pride. He took after his parents when it came to a business sense.

"Well I would love to help the Dark Claw guild as much as possible!" Ellias said before extending his hand for the two to shake. It wasn't a deal worthy enough to make a contract or anything. Simply two adventurers making a pact to one another.

Once their pact was made John and Dillion paid the 5 gold, thanked Ellias for his service and left. Over the next two days Ellias's life started to change. First was Eva's birthday. Both Okrie and Ellias joined her at the adventurers mine guild hall. They were one of many faces in the crow watching as one's friends and family would touch the Class Stone and channel their energy into it. After a few moments the one touching the stone and the adventure guild staff would know their class. The staff member had a skill to observe all details about a person. Although it would only work on lower level adventurers.

In the first 4 hours over 40 people would gain their class. Since this was an all day event part of the Class Festival it would have to move at faster pace. By noon Eva was able to touch the stone and get her class. Thankfully she got the Mage class! Many cheered and even more looked to try and recruit her. Over 200 people received their classes and only 10 of them were Mages.

Eva learned she was an Ice mage. She also had the unique skill [Hisho's Blessing]. Which allowed her to learn spells 10% faster, have 10% larger mana pool and 5% faster mana regen! This was a huge deal. Not my people are blessed by gods let alone a major one. Thankfully unique skills are not known to the public only to the person themselves and the Adventure guild. And the guild itself keeps every unique skill under lock and key.

That night Eva, her friends, family and family of her friends celebrated! Eva was filled with joy to be a Mage! She wanted to be like her parents, granted they were Earth and Water Mages respectively. Ellias and Okrie were jealous Eva got her class first, but they knew Okrie would get his the next day and Ellias following. Eva would show off her spells by conjuring simple block of ice or creating small gusts of icy wind. Everyone was impressed that Eva was able to cast spells day one!

Even if the spells were only beginner spells her parents were very proud of her. They knew they witnessed a genius when they saw how talented she was. Granted her talent was not unwarranted. She spent many nights over the years staying up and learning spells and watching her parents cast these spells. She wasn't a genius in the traditional sense, but one of unrivaled dedication to her craft.

The next day was Okrie's turn. He unfortunately stayed up to late celebrating for Eva that he slept in longer then he wanted. He ended up arriving at the guild hall by 1 in the afternoon. He was stuck in a much longer line then the previous day. After a grueling 5 hours of waiting Okrie finally made his way to the Class Stone. He placed his hand on it as the Guild Staff stood near him and watched. Energy started flow out of Okrie and into the stone. Moments later his eyes widened with a huge grin appeared on face.

"I"M A WARRIOR" he cheered! Though many ignored him, his friends and family laughed. They all knew a muscle brain like him would become a Warrior. His unique skill was [Giants Strength] an uncommon skill, but one many has. This allows the user to wield weapons much larger then them with great efficiency, doubles their strength gain per level up and allows the user to triple their strength for 1 minute once per day.

Even though Okrie got an uncommon unique skill he was happy with himself. He wasn't a spell caster or a thinker like Eva. He also wasn't a planner or tactician like Ellias. He had his strength and knew he could rely on his own strength to defeat anything in his way. Since he got his class later in the day his party was much short compared to Eva's party.

His party might have been shorter, but it was much more chaotic! His family hosted strength competitions with their neighbors and their kids. Who can crack the Rock Fruit was a great challenge for everyone. Despite their name Rock Fruits were has hard as iron! It took a tremendous amount of force to crack one open, but the fruit inside was amazing. A citrusy sweet flavor that tasted like a mix of a lime and strawberry. It was an odd flavor combination, but one that was many favorites.

That wasn't the only game that was played that night. Mud Wrestling was the biggest event with an actual 10 gold prize! With the help of Eva's parents they created a large area outside the walls of the town to have a free for all! Anyone wishing to enter would have to fend for themselves. Out of 30 entries only a handful made secret teams to take down the strongest of people, mainly Okrie's parents Yuvin and Kera.

The match went on for over 4 hours! This was mainly because the rules stated the only way to be disqualified was to be knocked unconscious, willingly give up and leave the area or pass out from exhaustion. Many only gave up when they were chocked out or thrown out of the arena. Yuvin, Kera and Okrie all worked together to fend off the other 27 combatants! They had years of working together and training Okrie that now that he had his class and his Unique skill he could keep up with his parents. To a degree that is.

Towards the end of the 4 hours Okrie was on the brink of passing out. He used all of his Spirit to keep his strength up at peak performance as long as possible. His parents on the other hand were tired, but could keep fighting. They had dealt with the other seasoned adventurers while they left Okrie to handle the new adventurers like himself. It was a good test for their child and an easy way to get practical experience without the risk of death.

At the end of the mud wrestling Kera managed to beat the tired Yuvin. Even though Okrie's father, Yuvin, was much stronger and faster then Kera. She was much more craftier. She had tricked everyone into thinking she was weaker then she was by yelling out to Yuvin to bail her out. In actuality she was saving her stamina to beat her husband! She ended up overpowering Yuvin as he was exhausting himself for the hour long match the two had. This allowed Kera to not only win the match, but also win the 10 gold!

That night everyone had the best night of sleep in their life! Their exhausted bodies crashed to the ground when the winner was chosen. Many people ended up sleeping outside that night. Although a handful of guards and adventurers checked in on them to make sure no monster attacked. Thankfully it was a peaceful night.

The next morning Ellias was the first to wake. He didn't partake in the mud wrestling, but had asked an adventurer that was in the audience to help him sleep. He was so anxious about getting his Warrior class that he couldn't sleep! Thankfully that adventurer had a simple sleeping dust that put him right to sleep. Seeing as he was the first to wake up he quickly woke Okrie and Eva. He told them he would quickly get in line first.

It was just before day light that Ellias managed to get to the Guild Hall before anyone else! It was highly unusual to have no one up before dawn, but since the day before was the largest gathering of new adventurers, he assumed it was no one, or hardly anyone, shared a birthday with him. He wanted Eva and Okrie to be there, but they were both so tired from the other parties he told them to sleep and he'll come back with his class.

Ellias was feeling surreal while standing  in front of the  large wooden doors to the Guild Hall. Even being in the town square many placed were closed and no a single person walked around. The cool wind blew across the land and sent a slight chill up his spine. He waited a dozen minutes before knocking on the door. Moments later the door creaked open. A mature women with dark red hair tied in a bun yawned as she opened the door. She wore the stylish grey suit with a pencil skirt symbolizing she was an Adventure Guild Staff member.

"Listen kid" she spoke in a tired voice as she rubbed her eyes "we don't start the Class Stone ceremony till dawn breaks. You'll have to come back later." Ellias was embarrassed that he forgot that and began to slowly turn away.  Just as he turned away and before the woman could close the door. The Suns light broke over the horizon of buildings around and shined its vibrant light into both of their eyes.

Ellias quickly turned back around and saw the annoyance on the woman's face. She wasn't ready for the suns light to shine. Ellias also guess she was a little hung over from the night before.

"Alright" she said reluctantly. "Come on inside. I'm sure there will be other kids who are as bright eyed and bushy tailed as you. Lets get this over with. Follow me."

Ellias did what he was told and closed the door behind him as he followed the lady. No matter how many times he came to the Guild Hall he was always amazed. The entire building was made form a magical wood that was resistant to fire and wouldn't even catch fire from a Mages Fire spell. The main room was the only room to the building, besides a handful of sleeping quarters for the staff and the Guild Master of this building. On his left side was the quest board and receptionist. On the right was the bar and a larger seating area. In the back of the room in the middle was a large 10ft grey stone with bright blue runes carved on it.

"Ahem" the women spoke drawing Ellias's attention back to her. "I am Secretary Yulanda. I work directly with the Guild Master. I am his eyes and ears while he is not around. I am the acting Guild Master Warrior." Ellias was impressed. She had such a delicate and refined figure he wouldn't have guessed she was a power Warrior or Mage. "Now we will see what class you are granted."

She spoke as she lead him to the Class stone that towered over him. He swallowed his nerves and followed Yulanda closer to the stone.

"Now all you have to do is touch the stone and channel your energy into it. It will feel like you are growing tired, but your energy will be given back to you in the form of Mana or Spirit. Please step forward and touch the stone. While you do that I will activate my skill to view your stats. Do note that this skill only works when you first touch the stone. You do not need to worry about others learning your Class and Unique skill unless you inform them."

Ellias swallowed his nerves again and slowly placed his hand on the stone. He could feel a single bead of sweat travel from his forehead past his eye and into his mouth. The saltiness of his sweat entering his mouth made him slightly more nervous. Even though he had no one watching he was nervous of being alone. Having no one around. As though reacting to his emotions the stone started to suck the energy out of his body. He could feel his legs shacking and about to buckle under him. He could feel his body getting colder and colder for a few moments.

SWING

The stone made a high pitched sound that only animals, and certain people could hear. Ellias couldn't hear the sound, but Yulanda could. Even with her hangover she perked right up upon hearing that sound. The stone only made that sound when someone was truly blessed!

While Yulanda and a handful of others reacted to the sound Ellias was experience something completely different. He went from feeling cold inside to very hot! He could feel his energy being poured back into him and a much greater speed. It was like a hot air traveling through his body from his hand. Inside his mind he could see his class and stats.
