New World New Experience

Shouts roared as the ground began shaking, interrupting Venator's observation.

In the distance, two large armies were charging at each other, horses, soldiers, flags bearing symbols ran in the fields in front of Venator. A flag of red depicting yellow swords in a circle while the other bore a flag of blue with a red bird on it.

In minutes, the peaceful field soon became a battleground, horses charged at one another while soldiers began pushing each other back, slowly it expanded further into the field with more soldiers clashing against one another, taking the form of a massive cloud of fighting soldiers.

Venator continued to watch from afar, shocked to witness a battle of this scale in front of him. Hearing the shouts and metal smashing against metal while he continued watching.

"Perhaps it was a bad time to go to this world." He said. He looked around, trying to find signs of a village or town nearby he may arrive in.

He still carried the hilt and sheathe of his broken sword, clenching onto it like a prized memoir. Pocketing it shortly after.

Below his empty sheathe was the new sword strapped onto him, the bottle hung on his waist belt, full as it dangled around.

He took out his book, as he heard the ambience of battle in front of him, he skimmed through it. Checking the spells he had, learning more on it while he read.

"I need to read this book more instead of just discovering things in battle." He complained to himself.

Bodies fell as swords continued smashing against each other in a frenzied fight in front of Venator, continuing to escalate while he simply watched it. The earth beneath them became soaked in the blood and broken steel of armor as their users fell.

"Now where do they worship their god, or gods?"

After staring for a few more seconds, Venator left. Walking away while the battle raged on.

He continued walking on the grassy ground, feeling the warm embrace of the sun while he donned his hood.

He read from the book as the walk went on, seeming infinite.

Venator soon arrived on a road, closing his book as he stared at where it could go.

"A town better be nearby." His route changed, from walking aimlessly on fields of grass to following the path of the road.

In a second, he started walking along the road. Far from the battle earlier, only hearing the nearly silent ambience of the bright day.

He read through the spells on his book, learning more and more as he continued reading.

The walk continued on for a long time, seeing hills and fields of grass pass by.

The sound of hooves hitting dirt ground interrupted the peaceful walk, causing Venator to close his book. Behind him, three soldiers clad in steel and leather rode on horseback trotting towards him, swords at the ready in their hands.

"Halt!" One of them yelled.

Venator, desiring no violence against them stopped. Obeying the command.

The three encircled him, dismounting their horses to approach Venator.

"We've been ordered by the crown to hunt down any stray magic bearers. And you seem to fit such an appearance." One of them explained.

Venator kept his hand away from his blade, keeping them up.

"I can assure you, that i bear no magic. I'm merely a worker trying to head home."

A soldier grabbed Venator's book, beginning to read from it.

"Certainly a common laborer doesn't simply bear a book, especially not one that contains this." The soldier showed him the spells of the book. Proceeding to show the others.

Venator looked down, clearing his throat to prepare to speak.

"If i may ask," He began talking. "Who are you?"

The man kept his sword ready, staring at Venator.

"Sir Ophrias of the king's crown, ordered to hunt pests like you." The soldiers approached nearer to Venator.

"Soldiers of a kingdom, best to not kill them then." He looked down at the empty sheath resting on his waist

Venator immediately grabbed it, gripping it tightly he struck the soldier in front of him, knocking him to the ground. The others prepared to strike, but were stopped as Venator began striking at the helmets, knocking them off to reveal their faces.

On the ground, Venator struck them a few more times, quickly ending the altercation as they grabbed their heads and faces in pain.

He pointed the sheath's tip at the soldier who took his book. Taking it back while he glared at the man, grabbing his head from the strikes.

"I don't kill soldiers nor ones of honor. There's a battle ensuing over the field. Best to focus on that rather than me." He placed the sheath back on his waist, finished.

Without another word, Venator mounted one of the horses, in a second he began leaving the scene while the soldiers still gripped in aching pain.

The ride felt shorter and quicker as the horse trotted down the road. Venator saw forests and rivers in the distance surrounding him.

"Wonder if i can bring a horse through the portal." He thought to himself, creating talk to pass the time.

He pet the horse's mane while they went down the road.

As he got closer, he heard a faint whistle from behind. In just a second, the horse threw Venator off, quickly running away as he got up.

"The soldiers got up already?"

Venator began running towards the village. Without a horse and now on the run from the 3 soldiers, he ran towards the grass, leaving the marked road.

The three soldiers rode on horses as they sped onto the road, stopping to look around for Venator.

As the grass became taller the deeper he went, Venator leaped into the tall grass, slamming into it as he scurried through trying to hide while peering his head through the openings.

He could see the 3 soldiers as they stared at the fields. Searching for him.

With minutes of hiding, they finally moved back. Leaving Venator in the grass.

He stood up, looking at the way they went.

"Perhaps a horse would be good to have for transportation." He contemplated.

Walking out, he went back on the road, keeping more caution for any sounds of hooves and the area behind him.
