Ch2 : A Glimpse of Abyss

The world we know, the universe consists of 3 dimensions. It exists along some point in the 4th dimension, Time. The universe, when include the 4th dimension, become a collection of parallel universes, called multiverse. Then what is beyond the 4th dimension? What is the fifth dimension? What kind of world are they? What differentiate the two world? The physical laws? The matters they are make up of? Or just simply Recognition? We just simply name this as Dimensions.

There are theories considering about the Dimensions. One of the popular ones is ' The Projection Theory ' The theory hypothesis that things beyond the Dimensions are projected into games, movies, novels, and comics. But when the Abyss comes and the barrier between the Dimensions is broken, these becomes a Pandora's box, where both despair and hope lies.

After looking through everything, Ivy pick up the the box containing the halberd and wear it on her back. She pick up the other box and go up the exit. The entrance to the research station is located in the chemistry laboratory where students are off limits. 'Pretty good choice to have a gate to hell' she guessed.

"Hey, Isn't that the transfer student that gone missing after attending here for 3 months!"

"Yeah! Her roommates said she is dead and even the police confirmed it. I heard the principal even hold a ceremony for her at her class."

"What is she carrying behind her back? I-It couldn't be her c-coffin, is it..."

"W-What are you a-afraid of g-ghost shouldn't come out at noon, you know!"

'It seems after missing for nearly 2 years everyone thought I was dead. But, seriously, what is with the coffin. The box shouldn't even that big' Ivy retorted in her mind while quickening her pace towards her former dormitory.

When she arrive at the dormitory, her room is locked and looks like abandoned. 'The door looks like it haven't been touched for ages. Did everyone really thought I'm dead. Also where is my roommates? Did they just changed room because they didn't dare to sleep at the room?' thought Ivy. 'I should have gone meet the principal first.'

After meeting with principal and talking for a few minutes Ivy knows why everyone looks like they saw ghost. 'The officials are really f*ucked up! Why would they spread the false new that I was dead, and even make up the false evidence? Did they really think I would not survive the experiment?' she thought.

"Ivy, where have you been all these years? You know the police even got the evidence that you are dead. Why did you gone missing?" said the principal.

"I'm sorry Mr. James. I've got some circumstances so I was abroad. As for the evidence, some of my things got stolen before I go abroad. I think the police mistaken the thief as me and they thought I was dead." said Ivy. "Mr. James, Can I get my room key back?"

"Ivy, if you still wants to attend here you need to inform the authorities first. After all you are marked as dead by them. And your files at the school have to fix too. You can only catch up next year." said the Principal James.

"No, Mr. James, you are mistaken I just want to stay here about a week or two before I find somewhere to moves out." said Ivy. "After all Doomsday is just around the corner." she whisper.

"Well then please yourself. You can ask for your belongings from the dormitory manager. No one come and claim them after you gone missing." said Mr. James.

"Then, please excuse me Mr. James." said Ivy.

At the dormitory, inside her room...

'I only have some money apart from clothing and books. Seems like I am an introvert before. This money should last me for a while. But it is really inconvenience living in a normal world. I miss 'Colosseum', as expected. Although the school got many psychopath, it is convenience to get food and did not need to hide your abilities here.' Ivy thought. 'I should buy food with all this money and I should always wear the clothes they prepared for me, from now on. The Abyss should not be too far off, so other things does not matter at this time. I should get myself a Smart Brain and detailed map. Even if the ground somewhat transforms, it should not be that different from the map, for the general area.'

3 days has passed since Ivy woke up from the underground research station. Ivy has been staying inside her room and looking at the news around the world. The world looks calm and peaceful on the surface. Everyone did not discover the less and less appearance of the leader nor the increase in the garrisoned police and military. Only the explorers, people who have known the Abyss a long time ago are becoming more nervous as time went by.

On the morning of the 4th day, when everyone is at work or school, the sky suddenly as if it went through a hole. And as if time is static, everyone couldn't move, including Ivy and other 100 survivors. Everybody heard a voice, which sounds like it comes from their head, after that.

"Testing... 1... 2... 3... Hello~ Is everyone heard me~ I am the goddess who found this world~ I goes by many different but you can just simply call me goddess of death~ I am here to inform you that this world has been claimed as my properties~ And as per the treaty of prominent races of the Abyss I have to inform you that this world will be invaded by them now~ I don't think I have to remind you what will become if you fail to defend~ As for how can you won this game, the ones who have the capability will eventually know of this~ So~ Try to survive the Death Match OK~"

"Oh, one more thing. To not waste the talented human resources the invasion will come in the next day~ If you are dumb enough to driving or riding the aircraft by then, you can assume that you are not include in the talented ones, so feel free to come to my hall of dead sooner~"

After the voice finished speaking everyone got their ability to move back. Though it is not a good thing as many people got panic attack and the whole world is in riot. As Ivy has been pondering over the information the goddess said, she heard another voice inside her head.
