Sharks and Arrival

A light brown lizard wades through the peaceful ocean towards an island filled with lush greenery and a stable Eco system, the oceans fauna thriving as small sardines swam on the surface in schools, lizzy was eyeing some since they were coming her way, she needed some sustenance to refill her energy that was at 47, she could feel that her stamina consumption has decreased after the strengthening, she was already 385 meters away from the island which was quite a distance as opposed to her earlier travel from the lab to the shore which was just 100 meters.

"System how much genodes would I get if I eat those sardines?"

"Host will gain 10 genodes per sardine"

"Small but i need some food right now, I may not catch em all! but I will enjoy the taste of sardines! hopefully catch some when I'm on the island and make my own food, hmm wonder how humans would taste cooked with spices... Remove that idea from your mind Lizzy!"

Lizzy shook her head and focused on the school of sardines coming to her, she aimed to atleast get two of them, she submerged her body and only let the top of her head show, her current tactic was reminiscent of an alligators.

Her eyes like a hawks looking at her prey as they come closer and closer, 30ft... 20... 15... 10... 5... 1, once the sardines got into the 1ft radius she shot out two shots of fantasy digestion acid, she didn't expect that it would spread like a net after a bit of aerial suspension and it hit not just two but 8 sardine fishes on the head.

"What the... I thought it was a single target thing"

"Host never bothered to ask for ability specifics after gaining so system will explain, the fantasy acid is very liquid in motion and upon exposure to air it will spread out like a net or a clumsy spit"

Lizzy listened to the systems explanations and nodded in response as if she was a student being taught, her eyes returned to look at the sardines and 6 of the 8 were no longer moving but there were two still twitching.

Lizzy left the two alone for a bit and began to gobble up the rest, she bit and swallowed and repeated the process all over, after swallowing an entire sardine the system notified her.

"Ding! Host has received 10 genodes"

"Hey system why do you change your messages on notifications and items?"

"Response to host, it is in order to adapt the system usually seen and read by the host"

"Seems legit I guess"

The last two sardines stop twitching and Lizzy went and continued her mini buffet , in her mind and on her vision the notifications kept on ringing.

A few minutes passed and she finished her meal, her stamina was slowly replenishing using the meal she just had, she took this opportunity to swim closer to the island, she wanted to go slow but then she saw a sharp curved fin at a distance from her about 15 meter away east of her location.

Lizzy's lizard heart jumped and began to beat rapidly, she started to swim faster even if it meant her stamina would drop whilst keeping an eye on the shark, the sardine blood was scattered just a few feet behind her and she hoped they won't attract the sharks, her speed picked up and her stamina burned.

She then saw an event that made her heart skip a beat, the sharks got closer to the spot where the sardines blood was concentrated, she kept on swimming fast and once she was 20 meters away from the spot she stopped and looked back to see the sharks not following her.

"Why aren't they following me?"

"Host has triggered lowest tier stealth skill"

"Oooh told you I was lucky"

"The host has been noticed by many dangerous and horrifying marine predators ever since host has left the island but was left along due to the fact that the host won't be able to fill their stomachs, that is why the host has triggered the stealth skill"

Lizzy's proud moment was washed away by the systems words and she came back to reality, she resumed swimming to the island in her own pace.

"Haa I knew I wasn't that lucky"

Lizzy's swim after the "shark attack" was uneventful and she arrived on the island shore, she opened up her status to see her left over stamina.
