Chapter 2: The Completely ordinary life of Alex Chaser Pt.1

[****]

Alex POV

Location: Aldera High, Musutafu, Japan

Date: March 9, 2214

Time: 8:15 A.M.

"U.A. Academy!? And the hero course at that? Are you serious, Chaser? You've never shown any interest in becoming a pro-hero before; what changed?" Tanaka said with a raised eyebrow.

"Nothing, just a change of heart, that's all." With a shrug, I leaned back in the chair. "So, can you switch it up for me?"

With a sigh, Tanaka closed his eyes and rubbed his temples with his fingers. "Fine, I'll do it; just hurry up and get to class so you're not late."

"Got it." Standing up, I walked over to the door and opened it. "Thanks Tanaka." I said as I walked out of the room.

"It's Mr. Tanaka, Chaser!" Tanaka yelled out as I closed the door behind me. With a smile, I made my way to my classroom.

After walking through the silent, empty halls of the school for a couple of minutes, I arrived at my classroom.

Welp into the fire, I guess. Reaching forward, I grabbed the door handle and opened the door.

The classroom was bustling with kids talking with each other while a woman with long black hair and hazel eyes wearing a white button-up shirt, a black pencil skirt, and a red scarf around her neck was standing behind the podium.

"Morning, Ms. Arisu." As I walked past her, I flashed a smile before I headed toward my seat.

"Good morning to you too, Chaser." Arisu said with a smile.

As soon as I sat down, I ignored the others around me as I pulled out my phone and looked up Takoba Municipal Beach Park. Immediately, the results came in, and I was greeted by the trash-ridden beach.

It's only a five-minute jog from my house. I'll head there after school to scope out what I can salvage and use.

With my immediate future plans settled, I began thinking about the long term. With my entry into UA guaranteed, so long as I got enough rescue points as well as villain points, I would pass.

With access to UA I could get close to several of the characters in the show, get access to the plentiful resources the school seemingly has, and directly manipulate events in my favor.

I should also be able to steal One For All relatively easily, so long as I follow up on the news and get some of All Might's blood.

It would be rather easy with all that blood All Might is spitting out on a daily basis. I could feel my cheeks rising at the thought of getting One For All for myself.

The rest of the day was rather boring, to be honest, due to my talents. I had knowledge on every subject on earth due to these talents, not to mention my ultimate analyst talent, which made thinking even easier. So I mostly just sat and did my work until the school day was over.

"Hey Chaser, are you okay? You were pretty distracted today." Arisu stopped me before I could head out, concern written all over her face.

"I'm fine, Ms. Arisu; I was just distracted today."

Arisu then placed her hand on my shoulder, giving me a comfortable squeeze. "Do you want to talk about it? You know I'm here for you."

"I'm fine, Ms. Arisu." Reaching up, I peeled her hand off my shoulder. "Don't worry about me; I'll be fine." I said before I walked out of the classroom.

As I walked through the bustling halls of Aldera, I came across a scene that my counterpart had passed by many times.

"Deku, when are you going to learn that a quirkless nobody like you will never become a hero?" A loud and obnoxious voice rang out. Turning to look into the classroom, I saw Bakugo and his two lackeys standing beside him while Midoriya cowered under their gazes and Bakugo's words.

This is a good chance to get some brownie points with Midoriya. With a sigh, I walked into the classroom and walked up to Bakugo, using my ultimate assassin talent to completely erase my presence until I was right behind him.

As Bakugo reached out toward Midoriya with a crackling palm, I kicked the side off his shin and then hooked my foot on his ankle and pulled back, causing him to fall. As he fell, I reached forward, grabbed his left arm, and pulled it back. Not enough to break it, but enough to make it hurt. I then grabbed his shoulder and pressed him hard onto the desk, making sure to hold his palms away from me so he couldn't use his explosions on me.

"Wha!?" Bakugo grunted in confusion under me, and while I couldn't see his face, I could see Midoriya's face, and considering how he was palling rapidly, I could imagine he was getting angrier by the second. "Who the hell–!" He yelled, his palms beginning to produce more sparks, but before he could threaten me further, I jerked the arm I was holding back slightly.

"Move, and I'll dislocate your shoulder, Bakugo." I said before letting go and taking a step back. Not a second later, I leaned back and dodged Bakugo's swipe at my face.

"You want to go Bakugo? I don't mind going against someone weak like you who can only feel superior by bullying some quirkless kid." I said with a smirk, and immediately I knew I had pressed all his buttons in a couple of words as he turned to me and gave me a murderous glare.

He took a step forward toward me, but one of his lackies tapped him on the shoulder and pointed at the teacher. His expression calmed, and he stood up straight before grabbing what I assume is his bag and heading to the door, but not before trying to bump shoulders with me, which I moved out of the way with ease, pissing him off slightly.

Turning away from the door, I faced Midoriya, who was still sitting in his seat with a dumbfounded expression on his face.

"Yo you good, Um... Midoriya right?" I said while waving my hand in front of his face, snapping him out of his shock.

"Yeah, t-thanks for standing up for me, Chaser." Midoriya said with a grateful expression as he bowed toward me.

"No problem." Slinging my bag back on my shoulder, I made my way out of the classroom. "See you around Midoriya."

"S-Sure!! I-I'll see you around..." He stuttered out behind me.

He does know that's not what it means, right?

Alex POV

Location: Takoba Municipal Beach Park, Musutafu, Japan

Date: March 9, 2214

Time: 3:35 P.M.

This place is a serious dump. But there's so much stuff I can use. I thought as I stared at the trash covered beach.

Given that Midoriya took ten months of training for UA and the entrance exam is on February 26th, that means that if everything follows canon he should start his training on April 27 and that means I have 54 days before Midoriya starts training here.

Walking forward, I began looking around for anything that would be useful.

Good thing I went home and cleared my bag out. Pulling off my backpack, I unzipped it and placed some scrap metal inside before I continued looking around, placing scrap metal, wiring, and other electronic parts into my bag until it was completely full.

I then made my way back home to my apartment, where I promptly placed my bag on the ground, pulled out my phone, and began looking at the news.

Despite the new memories, the original Alex didn't know everything, so I wanted to cross-reference all the information I had.

Immediately, I looked up one of the pivotal characters in the war arc, Kaina Tsutsumi, aka Lady Nagant.

I got results in an instant, and what I saw caused me to widen my eyes in shock. The first thing to show up was a recent photo posted a day ago of her posing after taking down a villain.

Even though she was smiling, even though she concealed it well, I could see the utter despair in her eyes and the false smile she wore.

Quickly, I looked up the current President of the HPSC, and instead of the blonde woman from the manga, there was a man with black hair and eyes named Okawa Kenta.

But why is the current president still alive? Nagant clearly hates what she does, so what's stopping her from killing him? Dirt? No, she can take them down with her. Fear. Not likely, considering most of them are quirkless and Nagant has been trained thoroughly as an assassin. So what is keeping her working with them?

Putting Lady Nagant in the back of my mind for now, I began searching up Sekoto Peak and saw that it was burned down several years ago, just like canon, which means Dabi should be somewhere out there. Looking up the Himiko family, I saw that Toga had already killed that classmate of hers, and she was on the run.

I also looked up the top heroes from around the world and saw some pretty concerning stuff. In Asia, their number one hero, Draco, was a beast of a man, and as his name suggests, he has a dragon quirk. It's similar to Ryukyu's quirk, but instead of turning into a western dragon, he turns himself into a Chinese dragon. It also came with a bigger skill set than Ryukyu, who could only use her massive dragon body to attack people, while he could breathe fire and lightning, though he might be able to perform more elemental breath attacks.

Then there was the number one of South America, Tango, and his quirk rhythm, which was concerning as he showed he was pretty competent in using it and since almost everything in existence had a rhythm.

From Africa, their number one is Nefertiti, and her quirk is golden touch. Pretty self-explanatory, so there's no need to go into too much detail.

And finally, from Europe, the number one hero was Valkyrie, and despite her saying she only had a strength enhancer quirk, it didn't make sense with all the feats she's accomplished. I'll have to look into her background and see if she's hiding anything.

Turning my phone off, I released a groan as I could already feel the massive headache from all this bullshit.

Hopping off my bed, I reached under it, moved a loose floorboard out of the way, and pulled out a box that I opened and was greeted by stacks of yen.

Quickly, I counted it up, and with the yen in my wallet, I had 123,843 yen to my name.

Thank God I had saved money here. I already have a ton of tools since the original Alex didn't want to pay someone to come fix something that broke in his house, so he watched some videos, bought the tools, and started to fix stuff himself. But I still need some more stuff if I am going to fulfill my plan.

This body might be perfect by Danganronpa standards, but as the ultimate geneticist, I knew I could take this body even further.

It can be stronger, faster, and more durable. All that and more, and I could see it just beyond the horizon; all I had to do was take a step.

Buuuuut for that, I'll need a lab and a bunch of equipment that is way out of my price range at the moment.

So with a heavy heart at not being able to start my plans, I closed my eyes and fell asleep since I had to work in a couple hours.
