// THIS IS AN OLD CHAPTER. THE NEW CHAPTERS ARE IN VOLUME 2. YOU CAN READ THESE CHAPTERS IF YOU WANT SOME INSIGHT ON WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN LATER BUT SOME EVENTS CAN BE DIFFERENT BETWEEN THE OLD AND NEW CHAPTERS.
---------- POV Dumbledore ----------
I have a terrible headache this Saturday morning, Gilderoy is revealing himself to be an execrable teacher throughout this week of classes. He had found nothing better than to make the students do theater or give them quizzes about himself.
On top of that, an article appeared in the Daily Prophet and the ministry decided to take matters into their own hands. I received scathing messages from Minister Fudge and Director Bones calling for an immediate return to normal.
Some parents also gave each other the word and I received a substantial number of letters, including a particularly vehement one from Augusta Longbottom. I didn't think such a colorful vocabulary could belong to an old lady.
Everything is going as planned and if the situation continues in this direction the arrest of Gilderoy is only a matter of days. I was particularly lucky when Amélia Bones' nephew knocked on my door.
Here I am reunited with Minerva, Severus, Pomona and Filius for an emergency meeting, I had originally planned this one for the next weekend but in view of the situation, I had to move it forward.
"Thanks everyone for coming, I don't think I need to explain the agenda. You've all been reading the papers these past few days. The question is, what are we going to do with Professor Lockhart? "
"It's simple, he showed himself to be of rare incompetence. Send him back on the spot and appoint a replacement as soon as possible. While we are looking for a substitute, the students will have to learn by themselves and we will give additional hours of permanence in the case they have questions. " Severus looks determined to make Gilderoy leave.
"I pretty much agree Albus, we can't let this masquerade go on any longer." If even Minerva is of this opinion
"In that case let me explain why, I hired Gilderoy Lockhart ..."
I tell all in detail, how the man had stolen the work of others and had use memory charm on the real people who had lived these adventures. How I had discovered the truth because of two of my friends whose I found memories erased and whose letters content ended up in Lockhart's books. "
"Albus, we need to warn the Aurors immediately! How could you, even for a moment, let such an individual approach our students ?!" Minerva is right again; I was foolish to let my personal revenge jeopardize the well-being of my students.
"I admit that I acted stupidly out of sadness. I wanted to destroy this man's reputation and I let my judgment be rated. But my students did not disappoint me and gave me the opportunity to unravel the truth and send Gilderoy Lockhart to his true place in Azkaban. "
---------- POV Sean ----------
Despite my best efforts, no sanction from Dumbledore on Lockhart took place. As I had bet with Harry, we did some Defense Against the Dark Arts drama this week.
I tried to get my aunt on the right track by explaining my theory to her about Lockhart's exploits which are truly impossible given his overly busy schedule. Her only answer was that she was going to open an investigation.
Tonight's meal is not to be enjoyed; everyone is very tired of the absolutely ridiculous demands of the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. When suddenly the doors to the great hall opened to my aunt and four Aurors heading straight for the teaching staff table.
"Gilderoy Lockhart, you are under arrest for identity theft, illegal use of the memory charm and you are also suspected of murdering several missing persons. Any attempt to use magic will be considered an act of rebellion and will allow us the use of lethal force. Get him on board, gentlemen. "
"What, no, how dare you! Let go of me, I'm the great Gilderoy Lockhart." Lockhart is dragged by two aurors out of the room.
All the students are silent and then suddenly someone in the room starts to applaud and it takes no less for the cheers to resonate. For the first time in almost two weeks, we don't feel like shooting ourselves at the end of the day after reading those shitty assemblages Gilderoy called books.
As soon as the meal was over, we engaged in an autodafe. All of Gilderoy Lockhart's books found themselves stacked in the center of the courtyard as everyone from new freshmen to ASPIC students had fun throwing incendio at them. However, some students practiced another form of homage to Lockhart's work by replaying more daring scenes from his books.
Ha if only I wasn't so young in this world I would be playing the explorer sorcerer and the savage and sensual vampiress.
