CHAPTER 5 : NEW P.O.V

He sat on the cold tiled floor , eyes closed as he screamed in pain , tears streaming down his face as he pulled his hair . He was in pain and he couldn't stop it . Looking around , he broke down even more , memories of his brothers being murdered clouded his brain , his vision now unclear . He could feel his body shifting against his will as more tears rolled down his cheeks , the pain was unbearable .

His body was heating up , he was changing even though he didn't want to . Closing his eyes he let out a scream, almost resembling a howl . Dragging himself from the room he was in , he screamed more . Time was running out , he needed to get himself to another room , an empty room where he could let his wolf take over for the night without destroying everything in sight .

Reaching the empty room he was looking forward to , he closed the gigantic doors , trying to put on the lock , before he transformed completely . He fumbled with the lock as his claws started coming out . He could feel his canines forming . Closing

the door , he immediately hid the key in a drawer that was on the door .

Falling down, he let out a howl , changing at a rapid pace , his wolf taking over him as he boiled with rage .

Looking up at the painting of the bloody moon in the ceiling , he howled .

Everyone sat silently in the conference room , it was almost ten and the meeting was almost at its end .

Anika watched the night skyline that was seen through the window . Even though everyone was silent , the fact that each one of them in the room was filled to the brim with questions , doubts and even a bit of fear was obvious .

She sat there zoning out . The meeting was almost over . The Delta Force perimeter was going to have a tighter security and the system security was increased as well .

She had called her parents to move towards one of the houses provided by the force . Anika felt it was best for them to stay there .

Prevention was better than cure .

It was for the first time in her entire career that she had felt so threatened . If the opposing group was so powerful enough to hack into the system , they were indeed a group who was needed to be taken care of , a weed that needed to be plucked .

Looking back at the owners sitting in the front , she thought if any of them were scared , afterall one of their friends did get murdered .

All of them seemed pretty calm , but for all she know , it could be just a mask they were wearing to cover up .

" We will wrap this up for today . We will continue the rest tomorrow , at the same time . Thank you " One of them spoke as he and the rest stood up . Following them , the rest of us stood up as well .

[ Anika's P.O.V ]

Walking out of the room , I looked at Ava who had joined me , her work papers in her hands .

" I am leaving next week , " she spoke looking disheartened at the thought of leaving again.

" You do have the chance to say no , and wait for another case. " I spoke , running my hand through my hair , my fingers working on the knots that had formed .

" Yeah , and they do have the power to not give me this month's salary and kick me out of the team , " she spoke side eyeing the men that were walking in front .

Driving through the city , Ava spoke up " You know , we should go out later when we are free . I heard the new restaurant at the end of the street is pretty good. Just us both . "

" Just us both ." I repeated her words .

Leaning towards the window , I looked at the numerous people who were walking through the sidewalk , a couple among them , reminding her of how single she was .

Of course she has Ava , but still the last time she had a boyfriend was almost six years ago and that was for maybe hardly two months . He dumped her and had left to somewhere , she had no idea of.

Ava was supportive during the time though . She was ready to fight anybody who walked towards me only to speak anything about my well , past boyfriend. My parents did not really like him from the start , so when he dumped me , even though they were sad , they were mostly happy that I was back to single again and whenever the word boy came in the sentence , the thing they would do was look at me and then talk about it for the rest of the day and then intentionally add it to something they would say just to get me irritated .

" Want to watch a movie tonight ? " I asked as I looked at Ava , whose eyes were focused at the roads. " Sure ," she spoke " But I get the Mickey pillow , " she completed , a wicked grin on her face .

Squinting my eyes at her , I replied , " Just for today ". Loving the fact that she won , she put on a song and started nodding along to it , and this time I joined her , with my grumpy face , which soon turned into a smile as I realised that I will get the pillow for more than a whole week when she leaves.

Getting comfy at the floor , I put my blanket over my head , while Ava strolled towards me , the Mickey pillow in her hand and her blanket over her head . Turning on the T.V we sat there excitedly as the movie was starting .

The clock had struck at twelve almost half an hour ago .The girls sat on the floor enjoying the movie , holding hands as they kept on filling themselves with snacks as the night went on and on .
