Hidden Mission

We spent the next half hour making out and by the time I pulled back, Mai was utterly breathless and melted like a puddle on my chest.

I just caressed her hair while she caught her breath while resting on my chest.

After a while, she looks at my face. Focusing on my eyes.

I look back into her eyes and say, "I want you to go out with me," in a steady voice.

"I want to hang out with you, travel the world with you, show you that there's so much more for us to do. I want to be with you."

She just keeps looking at me, searching for deception or any lie that I might be telling her. "I'll give you a chance. I don't just want to just accept your confession in the heat of the moment." She gives me one of the sweetest smiles I've ever seen. I might get diabetes even with the damn gamer body.

"I'll hold you to that. Are you free anytime this week? If not, we can do the weekend. I want to take you out on a date." I say to her with a broad smile that radiates happiness.

"Yeah, I'd like that"

"You want to continue the karaoke night?" I ask.

"Of course I do. Did you think that I would go home without singing even once?"

"No, I did not little bunny. No, I did not" I say to her with a smile on my face.

"You have an amazing voice. I haven't ever heard that song but hearing you sing it made me fall in love with it."

"Thank you for the praise. Coming from you it's actually a big deal." 'Of course, I'm good, my singing skill is at level 16.' I think feeling narcissistic.

"What was the name of that song? It doesn't seem mainstream, I would've heard it otherwise."

"It's Last Time by Midnight Kids. I think they're an underrated band. I love their songs."

"Let's sing a duet. I want us to sing together."

"Sure, that sounds like an amazing idea."

With that, we continued our night. Halfway through the duet, we got into such a good mood that we started lightly dancing again. Nothing too fast like the first song, but it was fun nonetheless. I kept stealing a few kisses from her to which she just pouted a little since I kept disturbing her rhythm.

Did I mention that Mai pouting is just like the cutest thing ever? Seriously, every time she shows me a new expression, I feel fulfilled.

After that was done, there was a knock on the door.

"I'll be back in a minute," I said and left Mai sitting on the couch.

I open the door and see that it is the delivery guy with the snacks I ordered. I give him a big tip since I'm in such a good mood right now. He left with a smile on his face.

I picked up some utensils with the bag of food and went back to the room. I see Mai half-lying on the couch scrolling through her phone. Her skirt is a little pulled up and I can see those perfect thighs in all their glory.

After admiring her for a bit, I walked to her and put everything on the table in front.

"Done ogling at me?"

"Never, I will never be done ogling at you."

"You really are a pervert aren't you."

"I prefer hopeless romantic," I say with a smirk.

I poured out the snacks on the plates and started eating while continuing our karaoke night.

I started singing the next song that I was planning to sing. Half a minute into the song Mai walks up to me. Seemingly intent on taking some revenge on me for disturbing her during our duet. I welcomed her with open arms. With light dancing, a few kisses here and there along with me coercing Mai to feed me, the song was over.

I didn't realize but it was pretty late by the time we were done having fun. After the nth song and playing with each other for way longer than planned, I decided to make some dinner for us.

"I'll make some dinner for us. Do you mind waiting in the living room?"

When I told her that I'll be cooking she just gave me a look of disbelief saying, "You can cook?"

"Of course, I can. I've been living alone for two years."

Then I walk to the kitchen without letting her ask more about this.

After a minute I call out to her from the kitchen, "Can you help me out with the chopping? We'll be done faster."

"Sure."

She joins me in the kitchen and starts helping me out.

After I'm done I serve the food on two plates and bring them out to the table where Mai is just sitting and put one plate in front of her and the other on the side.

The first bite she took had her moaning about how good the food was.

"This is amazing, you have to teach me how to make food like this."

"Sure, Mai. I would love to spend more time with you too." I said with a smile.

She gets a little embarrassed and focuses on her food. I decide to tease her a little and say, "Hey Mai open up."

She looks at me confused and realizes that I want to feed her. She lets me put the food in her mouth and eats it while looking at me.

She gets lost in thought for a few seconds and decides something.

She picks up a bite of the food in the chopsticks in her hand and brings it toward my mouth. I gladly accept her feeding me.

After a lovely meal filled with enough sugar to give someone diabetes, Mai tells me that it's time for her to leave. "I should go It's getting late."

"Yeah. I don't want you to though." I reluctantly accept.

"Don't worry we'll meet again in school tomorrow."

"Where do you live, at least let me walk you to your place."

"Sure," she accepts.

Walking down the apartment, I breach the topic that she probably dreads the most.

"You know what the best solution for your problem is, right?"

"Don't."

"You need to go back to showbiz."

"Stop."

"I saw that look on your face when you were looking at that poster we saw inside the train. That longing look told me enough..."

"Stop it. I don't want to talk about this. End of story." She says to me while getting agitated and walking faster.

I just follow her in silence.

We go down and she stops in front of the opposite mine. Before she has a chance to say anything I say happily, "Holy shit, you live right in front of my house."

My childish reaction brings a little smile to her face too. "Yeah."

"Make time in the morning, you're going to be walking to school with me." She tells me with a smile that seems to brighten up the night.

"Yeah, I'd love that. Give me your number though, if I need to call you." I say to her handing my phone to her.

She typed in her phone number and I sent her a text so that she has my phone number too.

"Good night."

With that, she walks off.

I keep looking at her while she enters the apartment building. Just before entering though she looks at me and gives me a little smile while waving goodbye. I smile back at her and wave goodbye too.

Back at my apartment, I think, 'Okay I'm a little behind on schedule of my daily routine so I guess I can't sleep much. Then again it's more of an obligation at this point. I have an eternal and everlasting body that never gets tired. I don't need sleep.'

I decided to check my stats and see that there's a little exclamation in my quest tab. I will it open and see that I've unlocked a hidden quest. I think I got the notification while making out with Mai. Guess I didn't notice it then.

This seems useful for the future. I'm very happy with this. I was going to do all of those things anyway.

I decided to skip sleep and finish my daily quests for today.

I was done by the time it was morning and got ready for school. I texted Mai asking if I should make breakfast for her. To which she promptly agreed. I guess food is the way to a girl's heart too.

I also called Sakuta on his home line to ask about his health. He told me that he won't be coming to school for the week. To which I told him to take care of himself and not hesitate to call me if he needed anything.

While I was making breakfast I was interrupted by the doorbell ringing. I went to check and saw that it was Mai in her uniform and ready for school.

I opened the door and greeted her with a tight hug and a, "How are you, Mai?"

"I'm good, I thought about helping you with breakfast."

"Cool, I'm actually almost done with both our breakfast and lunch."

"You're making lunch for me too?" She asks with a smile.

"Of course, I am, my bunny."

When I was done with the three boxes of lunch and breakfast for us we ate together after which I put the boxes in our bags.

Seeing me packing two for myself, she asks, "What's with the two boxes."

"The other one is for Rio Futaba. She's the other friend that I have."

"That girl who's the only member of the science club?"

"Yeah her. That clubroom is usually empty so I just hang around there in my free time. Futaba loves my cooking. So, she just lets me chill in her club room in exchange for me making lunch for her."

"I see."

"I'll take you to meet her during the break. We'll also eat our lunch there. It's a much better place than the noisy cafeteria."

With we are out the door and start walking to school in comfortable silence. I make sure that she's on the inner side of the footpath away from the road while holding on to her hand in the process. When I see that she's not uncomfortable, I just keep her hand in mine.
