Chapter 1Leaving the Dreams Behind

Head of the Medical group, Allen Blackwood was respected even before he was appointed. It was the day he was going to be appointed as the head, everyone was super excited but he himself was not ready for it. Being a very kind hearted and helpful person he was respected and was the only worthy person for that position but as it is normal for a nice person to unintentionally turn some greedy people into their enemies so did he turn some of them. He was unaware of the people who were plotting against him just as he was unaware of the fact that why did he agreed to take the position he had been turning down for six months.

He actually wanted to get away from the world of rich people and open a cake shop. He wanted a simple and middle class life. He wanted to spread smiles with his cake and he argued a lot with his father to agree but he only had to bow his head in the end and take his father's position.

He was ready by six an hour before the beginning of the party. Standing before the mirror, he observed himself though he was a fine, handsome, tall and cheerful gentleman he felt like the most lifeless and sad robot. His face was long with chiseled jaw line, his hair fell on his forehead and he was the most attractive man one could ever find. With a smile on his face he could possibly attract any woman but right now he forced that smile on his face with all the energy he had as if this was the most difficult thing in the world. As he was lost in his dreams his phone's ringtone startled him kicking him back to reality, it was him manager, he told him to come out of the house as he was waiting for him. Allen cut the phone without saying anything and moved out slowly marching towards the car. He was a man of few words but whenever he spoke his words always had influence on others.

By 6:45 they were there, people were already waiting for him. Seeing him, his father stepped onstage and made his announcement "Good evening everyone, as you all know we have gathered here to celebrate the appointment of the new head of our Medical Group, Allen Blackwood. Today I, Charlie Blackwood give my position to my son who is known to be a very talented and hard working person; with this I invite my son onstage to say a few words on this occasion."

Allen faked a smile and stepped onstage, the hall echoed with the sound of applause, he bowed his head to wish them "I would like to thank everyone over here to consider me worthy of this position and a special thanks to my father for allowing me to handle this position." Then he stepped down and excusing his father he went to the terrace of the hotel, he sat there for a few minutes and then heard a lady's voice pitying him "Poor head of the Medical group who is being appreciated by everyone is so sad to have this position."

He turned around to have a look and asked in a confused tone "Sorry but do I know you because I do not remember meeting a person resembling you."

She laughed loudly before speaking again "Sarcasm! I like it and let me clear your doubt you know me but not as well as I know you."
