49 Chapter 49: Bullet of Bullets. [2]
"So, let me get this straight, you two are devs in the game and Kirito is here to check the Death Gun rumor veracity, and you guys are also friends IRL, did I miss something?" asked the still confused Sinon.
"Mostly, but these guys own the game, they tell the devs what to do. But don't worry they are way too proud to do something petty like abusing that in the game." Kirito smiled but the next second was smack on the head by Reaper.
"You idiot, why don't you give out our names as well?" Reaper groaned.
They reached the Government-General Building and got themselves registered. They were registered in different blocks only Kirito and Sinon were in the same bracket if they manage to reach the semi-finals.
The prelims started, Kirito used his lightsaber to cut through the opponent's bullets and charged straight at them to rip them into pieces. She sported a cute and crazy berserker playstyle, while Sinon and Reaper used the sniper playstyle while Frost went with the stealth assassin playstyle. He sneaked on the opponents and silently neutralized them in a ruthless manner.
His ruthless playstyle was a really new scene in the GGO, the broadcast that the players saw made them realize that there was someone out there who was crazy enough to sneak up and slaughter them with a ninja blade, while the noobs were lost in wonder at the sight of the ninja blade.
Sinon was sitting with Kirito who had his little episode with Sterben/Death Gun talking to him, pushing him to the breaking point. Sinon who saw him like this was stunned as well, she was shocked to see someone so strong as him was rattled like that, his face and eyes, that look that was desperately asking for help somehow mirrored hers.
"Hey, are you alright?" she asked.
"Kirito could not reply but managed to hold her hand before he was teleported in for his quarter-final match.
Sinon stood there and watched his match, he stood there under the opponent's spray of bullets and started running at him as he dodged and slashed all the bullets coming at him with staggering accuracy and slashed his opponent into two pieces.
She went into her match and won it with two shots, where she sniped the opponent from at least 1500 meters away, who was driving around in an army jeep. The next match was announced, Kirito vs Sinon.
Kirito was still being the idiot he was and walked up to Sinon, who was a sniper and was perfectly capable to shoot his head off from a 1000 meters away, but she did not do that, her trauma disturbed her calm state of mind and the two had a talk about taking this seriously and they decided on a shootout.
Kirito tossed the bullet and the match began, Sinon shot with her sniper, but the bullet was sliced into two pieces cleanly by Kirito, who had won the match by Sinon's resignation.
The two came out and separated, but neither of the two knew that they were looking at the same scene, on the screen was another duel. Two players were fighting against each other with two butterfly knives and nothing else. The two were slashing and dodging with speed that was very hard to follow even for the veteran players.
The fight increased pace once they started using martial styles like grappling and krav maga as they fought, Reaper fought with style and Frost on the fly, with sheer instincts. One fought like a killer and the other fought like a beast, one was subtle while the other was ferocious. The fight dragged on for half an hour before it was declared a tie, and both were qualified for the Finals.
"These guys are really something else, there are knife skills in other games but with how they fought that was the raw experience for Reaper and wild instincts for Frost, they really do live up to their names!" spoke the mob one.
"I am definitely betting all my money on those two!" shouts the other.
"Hey! Kirito chan and Sinonchhi also qualified for the finals." someone shouted after checking the chart out.
"Sigh, if not for these two monsters, they actually might have a shot at the championship..."
"Hah, you heretics, stay loyal to your idols, I am betting all my credits on Sinon and Kirito, who is with me?"
"OOOUUUUU!" roared a lot of others and the other players. The scene was rowdy as hell while the excitement soared to the top.
The finale started and the players were teleported to random locations on the map. The players started taking out one another, while Frost was the one with the highest amount of kills with kill stealing and all other sneaky and underhanded things.
The game moved on and the players alive were reduced to a handful of seven. Pale Rider was sneak attacked by Sterben and the latter started doing his theatrics before shooting pale rider with the rumored, 'death gun'.
Kirito managed to convince to Sinon shoot the bastard before he managed to shoot the pale rider. But under the stress of seeing the gun that gave her PTSD, unnerved her and made her miss the shot... But the next second Sterbern who was absolutely confident in himself by then fell to the ground with two bullets exploding his head like a watermelon.
After hunting around for a bit, Reaper and Frost came to the bridge to join the drama. They knew that Sinon would miss the shot and thus, decided to take the shot themselves just to make sure the bastard was definitely dead.
The next thing Reaper did was sneak up on Kirito and Sinon and dropped a plasma bomb on them before they manage to regain their composure and thus, eliminating the two while Frost sniped the minigun wielding player from a cliff around 1800 meters away.
The only two players left on the map were Frost and Reaper, they walked up to meet and the audience was eagerly awaiting another blood-pumping duel. But the players had a different plan altogether.
They walked up to each other and did a fist bump and triggered a plasma grenade to end it with a bang. They were declared as joint winners of the Bullet of Bullets 3.

They logged out of the game and smiled as they heard the familiar notification sound of the Chat Group.
