27 Chapter 27: Albus-Dumb-as-a-door.

"I only did what I thought was for the greater good." The old wizard said with irrefutable righteousness.

"This, your Honour, is what we are here for. Albus Dumbledore is a person who is undoubtedly strong, but does that make it his right to decide on 'the greater good'? what right did he have to endanger a school filled with children to play his games with greater good?"

"As we can see you honor, the defendant is still adamant on his claims when he has no right to do so. Let us move to the next crime, he withheld infomation on a Dark Wizard and is still unwilling to say what he was hiding and from whom... I would request the Minister to make the defendant answer the questions here before the jury." Rufus struck again.

"Very well, the DMLE is the body responsible for safety and regulation on the law and the people, the defendant must confess to the questions asked by the plaintiff." Fudge announced.

"It is a secret that the people should not know, it is for their own safety that I choose to stay silent." Albus argued.

"Objection! When was Albus Dumbledore responsible for the charges that he put on himself and by what authority?" Rufus interrupted.

"Granted. Albus, you must answer the plaintiff and the court with a reasonable explanation unless you plead guilty for vigilantism." Fudge spoke with the chair's authority.

"Sigh, I will take the charges." Albus resigned.

"The defendant is yet to name the supposed artefact and the Dark wizard behind it." Rufus was on a roll.

'You leave me no choice, and now it has come to this, this is a game for two you started, and now I will play.' Albus mused and his eyes twinkled with determination.

"Very well then, but can the plaintiff name any place more secure than the Hogwarts castle?" Albus played a slick move as he thought he could still weasel his way around this.

"Sure, we have the Auror Head Quarters, the Department of Mysteries, Madame Bones' Office, the Ministrial Vault, the Minister's office and the latest addition and surely the best one, Aster's castle, any more questions Albus? There were many options you could have taken, each better than the last, so what you have done is not at all justified." Rufus gave another crispy slap on the old man's face.

"The prosecution is solid in it's words, how does the defendant plead for withholding crucial information in regard to public safety and child endangerment?" Fudge asked.

"Not guilty, the safety that was assured under my personal watch exceeds what options Rufus just gave the court. I can acquicise to vigilantism, but it was only done with the greater good in mind." Albus stated.

"The defendant is yet to answer the question asked. What was the artefact and who was the dark wizard that was looking for it?" Rufus.

"Let me answer the court, the artifact was the philosopher's stone that had been safe with the Flamels for more than six centuries, and the supposed dark wizard was a wraith that possessed the professor named Quirrinous Quirrel, who is missing since the last year." Aster interrupted.

Aster was getting bored with the mindgames and the hide and seek, he simply told the court what Albus had failed to answer.

"Are you sure of your words?" lady Longbottom asked.

"I am, just picked it up off his mind and if I were to say about the supposed identity of the wraith, the jury will question my sanity as I am questioning his," Aster answered plainly as he pointed at Dumbledore.

"How can you be sure of what you picked from Albus was not something fabricated by him, for we all know that he is a master in the mind arts, what makes you so sure?" Lucius asked.

"I am a spirit you dumbhead, I am older than your whole ancestry put together. I am on a whole different power scale and you don't have to worry, I won't lie as humans do, well, only you humans and those goblins are the only creatures that lie, I don't remember where you guys went so wrong." Aster chuckled, but no one was able to refute his words.

"Now, let move on to the voting part, as the dessert still awaits us." Aster smiled.

"Very well, Albus Dumbledore is guilty for the crimes of vigilantism, child endangerment, hiding crucial information regarding public safety and misuse of his seat of power as the Head Master of Hogwarts. All those in favor say 'aye'." Fudge said as he scribbled down on the papers on his table.

More than half of the hands were raised, thus the defendant was proven guilty in martial court.

"Now, let's come to the part where I take over. Ladies, gentry, and Lucius, may I present you THE Albus Dumb-as-a-door. This idiot of a man kept the school running with a damned Acromantula nest near the Hogwarts Castle, a nest that had at least a few hundred acromantulas. A number that can easily cause great harm to the forest itself."

"We only got to know of this when I made Kingsley look for creatures that should not be where they are, and trust me, this was on top of that list. As much as I wanted to shift them near the Malfoy manor, Amelia did not let me, and we had to get rid of them. The operation was successful and we managed to come out without a single scratch on our side."

"After that, I wanted to visit the castle to take a look round and took Amelia with me, oh and I also had a friend join us on the little excursion after I left Kingsley to wrap it up while Rufus and the boys went to the pub to grab a drink and take the day off. It was only then did we hear about the students getting petrified left and right and no actions were taken to prevent it, nor were we in the DMLE informed about it nor did the St. Mungo's get a visit, well that can be explained by the presence of the resident matron of Hogwarts."

"Yes, you all heard me right, there were students being petrified and this idiot stood there and waited, twiddling his thumbs. It was then we heard of the heir of Slytherin mess and quite simply it was a damn Horcrux that another idiot made that was causing trouble. A lot of things happened and we found a beautiful basilisk that was being controlled by a student that was in turn controlled by the Horcrux. Quite a mess right?"

"Yes, all that happened and I took care of the Horcrux and took the basilisk away. Sent a mail to get the petrified students and a cat some mature mandrakes, done and directed by Amelia of course. So, I am here to get this idiot stripped of a political position, just to let his old bones focus better on his headmaster duties." Aster finished his tale with a bow while the listeners were not sure what to feel anymore.

"You had a damn basilisk running around Hogwarts and we, the governors don't even know of the petrified students? How would you explain this Albus? And you Aster, you brought a friend on a ministerial raid and where is that accursed creature right now?" Lucius asked with a tick mark forming on his forehead.

"What, Madoka was just visiting, and don't disrespect your elders, both the basilisk and I are much older than you or your family. And for your information, her name is Ivy, don't objectify her you crude man and she is a beautiful basilisk, unlike your untasteful mug. She is probably playing with the snowmen or lazing under the sun with Madoka right now." Aster simply jabbed the blond man.

"You damn spirit, how dare you mock me?" Lucius growled.

"You dumb racist should be mocked," Aster smirked.

"I will have you sued." Lucius threatened.

"And I will have your estates raided, are you willing?" Aster countered.

"Stop squabbling like children, Aster you are older than all of us put together, stop throwing petty insults. And you Lucius, you should behave like a noble lord, not like a brat, stop arguing and let the proceedings continue." Fudge slammed his seal and silenced them both.

The two in question glared at each other and turned their heads with a huff, making the others doubt if the two were friends or enemies with the way they behaved.
