CAMERON'S POV

We were all in shock, well, all of us without counting my wife who still had a big smile on her face. I don't have the slightest idea how to feel, because something has always told me the reason they had given me was not the truth, but now having proof that they wanted to hide something told me that it wasn't true at all.

"Honey, are you ok?" Lara asked, now in front of me and with a worried face. I shook my head to clear everything piling up and nodded, because I am, just surprised at what I had heard. "Not a single millimeter is worn?" I asked to make sure, and my wife nodded. "Not even half a millimeter," Lara informed with her hand on my chest. "But it's a bit normal" my best friend pointed out and both Bianca and my wife denied. "For all the time Cameron drove, it's not normal. And there would be more wear and tear" my sister-in-law informed his wife. "And if we take into account that the car was low that day, it will have to be more worn out"

"Have they ever asked you what happened in the accident?" Lara asked, her attention focused only on me "The team asked the questions and said they would then send it to the FIA" I responded trying to understand what Lara was getting at "Never the FIA?" She insisted and I denied, "Never," I assured, "Bi, can you look to see if among those papers is the transcript of the questions to Cam?" My wife asked and Bianca didn't take long to listen to her sister, "No, no. You are both going to leave this, and we're all going to go to sleep." Eli said seriously and the sisters turned in her direction. "But…" they both began to protest, but Eli gave them a threatening look. "But nothing, we're going to go to sleep, and you'll continue in the morning. You haven't slept at all since yesterday, Lara, and you must rest," my best friend pointed out and the sisters pouted.

"Okay" they both responded, and I couldn't help but laugh, which makes both my sister-in-law and my wife raise an eyebrow looking at me "I think he went crazy" Bianca murmured, and I denied "Let him be" my wife said, and we all left towards the car but not before closing the garage.

Shortly after starting the car, Lara fell asleep on my shoulder and, although I would like her to fall asleep, at some point, we'll have to wake her up to take her home. "Cam, tell me you can carry your wife in your arms, because I don't want to have to wake up my sister," Bianca said, and I looked away from my wife to focus on Bianca. "I don't know, and honestly I don't want to risk I might drop her, and something might happen to our child" I responded, and Bianca sighed, not liking having to wake up her sister, probably because when Lara was woken up, she usually woke up in a very bad mood.

"I have the solution for that, but you can't protest Cam" Eli said next to her wife. "What solution?" I asked curiously "Sam can help us carry Lara home. I swear there's nothing between them" my best friend assured and I nodded, after Sam spoke to me, I'm calmer in that sense "Perfect, I'll call him... oh no, wait, it won't be necessary anymore" she said looking out the windshield, letting us see Sam leaning on the car that I assume is his in our driveway.

As soon as Eli gets out of the car, she goes to him and hugs him while both Bianca and I stare at them. "Where's Lara?" He asked, looking for my wife, "That's what we were going to call you for right now. Cam doesn't want to risk Lara falling and hurting their child, so we need you to pick her up and take her to bed," Eli reported with a big smile on her face. "Has something happened to her?" He asked, worried, "Nah, she just fell asleep in the car and my wife doesn't want to pick her up for fear she'll wake up."

Sam laughed and didn't take long to approach the door I'd left open. Once he took my wife in his arms, Bianca opened the door of the house for him, and I accompanied him to our room so he could put her on the bed. I covered her well so she wouldn't get cold, and I sat next to her, running my hand through her hair so she would fall asleep soundly again since she had woken up a little while going up the stairs.

"She was at Silverstone, wasn't she?" The man asked and I nodded, "I told Serena not to tell her anything about the fact she could see the car at that moment. I knew it was going to be more difficult than normal for her to fall asleep," he said, denying. "Don't blame her, even if she told her she couldn't see the car until the morning, she wasn't going to sleep anyway," I assured, because if there is one thing I knew, it's that this would happen anyway. "Probably… You don't know how long she's been wanting to get her hands on that car."

"Did you talk about it?" I asked curiously "If we talk?" I can assure you that after you and your child, that car was the most important thing to her," Sam assured. "Did she tell you why?" I questioned and a small smile appeared on his face. "It seems you got a little obsessed with that specific race and told Eli something weird happened. As you know that girl can't keep her mouth shut and she told your wife... she decided to help you and see if she could find something... to calm you both down."

"Both?" I asked and he nodded. "Lara never talked about what she feels regarding your accident since I've known her, but the nightmares say it all," he said and I straightened up a little, because maybe he knew something Eli didn't know. "Did she tell you about the nightmares she has?" I asked and he denied "Lara has no idea she has them, she just wakes up startled and your mother talks to her until she calms down, but she doesn't know. I guess she suspects she has nightmares, but she hasn't figured it out."

"But if that were so, she should have had them before she left," I said, just as I did with Eli. "No, because before she left, she had you by her is side and from what she told me, she always had her head on your chest" he said, and I nodded because that was true, what's more, Lara tended to put her hand on my chest at the slightest chance she has "Lara is subconsciously making sure you're alive, which is why she leaves her head on your chest"

"She also leaves her hand there much more than she did before," I reported. "Same reason as she does it while asleep. Unconsciously, Lara is reassuring and comforting herself you're alive" she said and that made more sense "Eli told me she screams sometimes" I pointed out after a few minutes in silence "Sometimes. I don't really know the reason, but I guess it has to do with you not being with her when she wakes up."

"She also screams when she has nightmares about her accident with her father," I pointed out and he frowned. "Maybe the nightmare is a fusion of the two events and replaces her father with you in that accident. It would explain the confusion with which she wakes up and the scream" he responded thinking "Because in her nightmare I ended up dead just like her father" I mumbled, and he nodded "Normally it's when she screams that she calls your mother"

We both stared at nothing and trying to understand what was going through my wife's mind when she had the nightmare. Although it wasn't a pleasant moment for me when she left, since she was having nightmares, probably related to the accident, and I didn't want her to have them, so at least I can help her sleep better.

"I let you rest. See you in the morning," he said, stepping away from the doorframe. "Why did you come home?" I asked, remembering we hadn't needed to call him. "I assumed she was going to have a hard time sleeping tonight, and when I texted her to ask how she was doing, she replied she couldn't sleep... I assumed she was at home, so I stopped by to keep her company and calm her down enough for her to go to sleep."

"Didn't she tell you she wasn't home?" I asked curiously and she denied "No, she didn't tell me, but I guess she was still at home at that time" Sam answered and even though it was a possibility, I also think Lara didn't want him to go after her and bring her home again. "I appreciate you worrying about my wife, but it's not necessary for you to come at night," I replied, and he shrugged. "It's customary now. It comes naturally to me. I swear, if my wife didn't know I was coming to see Lara, she would think I was cheating on her again," he responded, laughing, even though I didn't find it funny.

"Anyway, I'm leaving. Trie to rest. It's very likely that Lara will take a while to get up tomorrow considering the time it is," he said, walking out the door and without giving me time to say goodbye to him. At least this man had been with her when she needed and that was something I appreciated more than anything. I lay down on the bed and Lara soon puts her head on my chest, which makes a small smile appear on my face and I end up falling asleep in a few seconds.

BIANCA'S POV

Luckily for everyone, Lara had fallen asleep in the car and showed no signs of waking up soon, which is good because she had to rest, but now the one who couldn't sleep is me. I don't understand when and how Lara got them to let her examine her husband's car, much less what we had found. What I want most at this moment is to examine that car and find more things, because if there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that we'll find something else, and if there's one thing I don't want, it's for my sister to have to look at the car herself. For me, she wouldn't even be looking at it unless I knew there's no way she wouldn't look at it for herself, even if I offered to do that job myself.

"Bi, honey, why don't you go to bed?" My wife asked, looking at me from the bed. "I can't, Eli," I said honestly, because I had thousands of things running through my brain. "I know you have adrenaline running through your body right now, but it would you do well to rest," she responded, and I took a deep breath to calm down a little, but it wasn't easy "Darling, what's on your mind right now?" She asked and I sighed again "I don't want Lara looking at the car her husband had the accident in. She can't even see the accident. I don't know how she was so calm looking at the car. I want to make sure my sister is okay, nothing more, and I'm not sure that will happen if she's constantly looking at that car."

"But you also know no one will be able to get her out of that investigation," my wife pointed out and I nodded, because I already knew that. "I know, and that's what bothers me. I know what my sister is like, and I know at this moment she will only focus on that, it will be difficult for her to sleep more until she gets to the end of the matter... I want my sister to be good" I said, and it didn't take long for me to notice some arms hug me and Eli ends up resting her chin on my shoulder. "I know all this is worrying you, but I can assure you that all of us will make sure she's okay."

"I'm not so sure we'll achieve it... The only people who can do it are at home, and Cam's mother can't set foot on here because of what happened," I pointed out and Eli nodded. "I know, but your mother and your grandma can do it," she answered, and I nodded. "I know they would, but I don't think they want to leave Isabelle alone, I'm not sure if they'll come."

"Isabelle will be fine on her own. She has been living there for years and her neighbors will be watching out for her. Your mother and your grandmother will come, I assure you," my wife said, completely convinced of what she's saying and just at that moment my phone started ringing, which made me pick it up without looking to see who was calling at this hour of the morning.

"Hasta que alguén me contesta. Pódesme decir porque nadie contesta o puñetero teléfono? (Until someone replies. Can you tell me why no one answered the damn phone?)" Grandma asked in an angry tone, and I looked at the notification bar, seeing the four missed calls from her "I'm sorry Grandma, but we were a little busy, really," I answered. "So busy that no one can answer the phone until six-thirty in the morning?" she asked, and I denied "It's half past five here, but grandma, I assure you we were working."

"Bianca, sabes que túa irmán non debe forzar. Máis che vale collernos dentro dunhas horas. (Bianca, you know that your sister shouldn't be forcing herself. You can already be picking us up in a few hours) she said in an angry tone, and I frowned. "Piking you up?" I asked, confused. "Yeah, piking us up, because your mother and I are at the airport waiting for the plane to leave," she informed and now I'm even more confused. "Are you going to come here?" I asked surprised "Of course we're going to do it. Lara promised she was going to call us every day and the first day she didn't, so we go to make sure she's okay."

Although it's something I would expect, the truth is I didn't expect it so soon, but at least I no longer had to call them to come. "Okay, send me the information so I can come pick you up at the time," I responded while Eli is running her hand on my back to calm me down. "Perfect, see you in a few hours" she said, hanging up without saying anything else. "So, are they coming?" Eli asked, probably with a small smile on her face. "It seems that way, and she's angry."

"I suppose. If you want, I'll go get them," she said and I nodded, because it was likely when they arrive, Lara would already be in that car. "I think it would be the best. I don't think we're going to be home" I pointed out and she nodded "Possibly. Now go rest for a while, it will be good for you" she said and I nodded, getting up and lying on my side of the bed "At least I'll try" I answered and she laughed "I could help you with that if I'm wasn't dead tired" she answered and I couldn't help but laugh "Then rest, tomorrow will be a long day" I said knowing Lara wouldn't leave until she found something else and what exactly had happened in her husband's accident.
