Who Are You?

Blake rolled his eyes in annoyance. He had been avoiding Larisa for a while now. He had heard about her getting back to the country from his grandmother. Never expecting to meet her here, he just walked past her table.

"Wait…" Larisa held his arm. "Meet my boyfriend, Daniel." She suddenly introduced the man who was sitting in front of him.

Daniel, who was clueless about being introduced as someone's boyfriend, widened his eyes.

"I didn't find the need for you to introduce your boyfriend to me." Blake half turned his head.

"Well...fiancé…" Larisa pointed to him and then pointed to Daniel, "boyfriend…"

"Congratulations." Blake crossed his arms, "That's great to hear. Then grandma won't be having a hard time telling your family about our broken engagement." He smiled, quite a cynical one.

She stood up right away, but thanks to the private location, their action didn't get much attention from others. "Since when?"

Blake smirked looking at her reaction, "I guess…since today?"

"Do you hate me that much?" She sighed in frustration.

"Woah woah woah…" Blake raised both of his hands asking Larisa to calm down, "This is not about who hates whom more…" He paused and leaned his head to her ear, "It's just you are definitely not made for me." He took a step back and glanced at Daniel with a smile, "Have a great breakfast Larisa's boyfriend."

Larisa drooped down on her seat after Blake walked away. A broken engagement was not the news she wanted to hear when she decided to come back for good. Her parents also assure her that Blake's family seemed to want to expedite their marriage. "What is this?" She blurted out unconsciously.

"Are you okay?" Daniel asked out of concern.

"No, I am not." She grabbed her handbag and walked away, leaving Daniel dazed for a while before running to catch her.

Blake felt so satisfied seeing her stunned face. He despised this arranged marriage so much. Larisa's parents took advantage of her being his childhood friend and proposed to his grandmother for a marriage. They must have heard the news about his grandmother looking for a potential wife for him and grabbed the opportunity right away two years ago.

Since then, their relationship, which was supposed to be good, grew distant. At first, he thought Larisa would protest to her parents' suggestion but it was wrong, she went along with their plan and they got engaged.

"Here you go sir…" The manager put a packaging of food on the table. "I'm sorry for being slightly late. The kitchen is quite busy and we tried our best to make it as fast as we can." He kept explaining, hoping Blake understood.

But Blake, he didn't answer or respond because his mind was elsewhere.

"Sir…?" The manager called him once again.

"Oh!" He was really shocked seeing the manager in front of him that his chair dragged a little to the back. "Ah I'm sorry…" He stood up right away as he felt like he was being rude.

"No sir, it is okay. Here is your order." He slightly pushed the food that was neatly packed towards Blake.

"Thank you so much. The payment…at the counter?" He pulled out his card, "Or you could swipe it here…" He rarely came to the restaurant, usually he would order it online and eat them at the office. He ate their food from time to time to make sure their food taste and quality remained the same.

The manager quickly waved his hands as a refusal. "No need to pay sir."

"Why?" His face suddenly lost the friendly vibe.

"It is on me sir." He smiled, awkwardly.

Blake bobbed his head and understood, "I appreciate your kind gesture but Mister…" He looked at his name tag once again, "Mr. Charles…I think it would be better for me to pay this time." He pursed a straight line smile. "Maybe next time?"

Charles nodded his head immediately, "Sure sir.." He took the card that Blake handed and headed to the counter.

After giving back Blake's card, Charles looked at the sturdy back of their company CEO. 'It is like what they've been told, his charisma is different.'

Micky was stunned. The moment they entered the hospital room for his mother, their eyes couldn't stop being amazed. That room was supposed to be a hospital room, but it looked like a room for a five star hotel.

"See sis, I told you…" He turned looking at Marissa who was fixing her mother's blanket. "He is no way an ordinary person…"

Marissa remained silent. There were a lot of things on her mind. She and Blake had been friends for ten years and no, they were not just friends but best friends. Not knowing much about Blake made her question herself, were they really friends?

"How's the room?" Blake's appearance made them turn their heads to the door.

Both of them didn't answer but at least Micky nodded with a feeble smile.

"Let's eat first." Blake walked in and put the packed food he bought earlier. "I bought you porridge…" He glanced at Marissa still waiting for her reaction, "From the restaurant you like…"

Silence. Marissa sat down at the chair near the bed and kept her eyes on her mother who was still unconscious.

Micky kept silent as he read the air in the room. He knew his sister must have felt like a fool or perhaps felt betrayed.

"Are you okay?" Blake headed towards Marissa and once again put his palm on her forehead.

To his surprise, his concern gesture was not welcome. Marissa straight away slapped his hand from her forehead. She lifted her eyes glaring at her.

"Did something happen?" Blake was clueless. He couldn't understand what was happening at that moment.

"Bro…" Micky held Blake's arm. Slowly pulled him away. "Let's talk outside."

"Wait wait wait." Blake politely removed Micky's hand from his. "Did I do something wrong?" He was seriously curious. He came back and the atmosphere became so gloomy that he didn't know what was happening. "Did the doctor mention anything about your mom?" He came up with that conclusion when everything seemed awkward.

Marissa stood up and her eyes showed how angry she was by looking at him. "Who are you seriously?"
