“What is it?” he asked. “Did I say something?”

Tas smiled. “You sure did.” His voice was barely a whisper. “How did I get so lucky?”

Tas kissed Dane on the mouth, a long, slow kiss that lingered long after he had removed his lips.

“Hey, let’s skip the coffee and go home,” said Dane. “I feel like I want to be alone with you.”

“Do you want to sleep over?”

They recommenced walking, hand in hand.

“You inviting me to stay the night?”

Tas was smirking. “It had to happen sooner or later, didn’t it?”

“It was inevitable.”
