1 New Beginning

At 8 am, a young woman entered the Beijing University*, the most prestigious University in not only China but the whole of Asia. The young woman is what those would call a cold looking beauty. At 5'8 ft, with a skinnier body but right curves, thin-plump lips, high nose bridge, heart shaped face with phoenix eyes, black natural long silky hair which reach to the waist area. Her face had an unapproachable look, almost cold but not yet. Her outfit consists of a clean white short sleeve t-shirt with black fitted jeans and comfortable white sneakers.

She was walking to the administrator building with a grey-blue backpack. Once she reached the building and went inside, she was ushered into the Dean's office as she was a highly regarded post graduate student by the board's chairman, Liu Liwei. He praised the young woman highly and told the Dean, Tang Boqin, to treat her well and make sure everything goes smoothly for the woman. Although Tang Boqin was confused, he followed Liu Liwei's words.

When the woman entered the office, Tang Boqin stood up from his chair and said

"Welcome Ms. Mo Xing! Please have a seat"

And gestured to the chair opposite him. They both face to face across his desk, while Xing shook the Dean's hand and sat down elegantly. Her demeanor did not surprise Tang Boqin too much since how can an ordinary girl get so much praise from the well known cunning, cold and stubborn old man Liu Liwei?

"Thank you for receiving me so warmly. I hope Uncle Liu did not trouble you too much." Mo Xing stated after sitting down

Tang Boqin was somewhat surprised that the two knew each other so well but did not think much about it afterwards.

"No problem at all Ms. Mo. I will just give you your schedule, brief you about the rules and policies, and lastly give you a campus tour as well." Tang Boqin said with a warm smile.

In his 40s, he is a warm dean that is well known and favored by the students of the university for his warm and kind fatherly personality.

"Thank you Mr. Tang. I hope I do not let you down since Uncle Liu can sometimes exaggerate." Mo Xing courteously and humbly replied.

Tang Boqin just smiled and said, "I am sure you will do well, now let me brief you then hand your schedule."

- after 20 min of discussion between the two -

"Ms. Mo, now that all formalities are done and I have given you your schedule, let me tour you around the university." Tang Boqin said while standing up

Xing also stood up while picking up her schedule and placing it inside her backpack while standing up as well. Both walked out of the administrator building and went to the main campus block.

While touring the campus, Tang Boqin would tell the history about the campus. On their way back, they bumped into three men. Two of the men were Liu Liwei, the board's chairman, and Bai Qiqiang, the President of the university. The third man had black ink like phoenix eyes, standing at 6'1 ft, with a fit lean but strong body, sharp jawline, thin-ish lips, high nose bridge, and black short neatly styled hair.

Tang Boqin slightly bowed before saying, "Hello Mr. Liu, Mr. Bai, and Mr. Xi! I did not expect to see you here."

Mo Xing nodded and barely looked at anyone except her father's best friend Liu Liwei.

She first said hello then turned to Liu Liwei and said, "Hi Uncle Liu, how are you?"

Liu Liwei helplessly shook his head but smiled warmly which shocked not only Bai Qiqiang and Tang Boqin but also the 'Mr. Xi' since all three had known the man as someone who was stern, cold, cunning, and stubborn so they rarely saw him smile, and never saw that expression he had right now.

"My dear Xiao Xing, you should show more emotion. Come here and give this old man a hug, I barely even see you nowadays." Liwei said with warm eyes and opened his arms to receive a hug.

Although Mo Xing was a little reluctant because there were other people, she finally relented seeing the pitiful face of her uncle and hugged him back while saying, "Uncle Liu, I saw you a few days ago though."

"Stinky girl, you only discussed business! You left this old man right after, this poor old man just wants a hug from his lovely niece" Liu Liwei said in a tone of grievance, shocking the other men with his shameless whining.

"Whatever you say Uncle." Xing relented as she did not want to argue with her uncle so she showed a helpless smile.

Although 'Mr. Xi' was shocked, he also sensed a familiarity with Mo Xing, but could not remember exactly where as he never saw her face clearly since she barely even looked at anyone but her uncle, one of the very few people close to her.

After some small talk, everyone parted with Liu Liwei and Mo Xing leaving together since the three men were done with their business and so was Tang Boqin and Mo Xing.

When Liu Liwei and Mo Xing reached Liwei's car, he finally spoke up again and said, "my Star* how has your stay in Beijing been? Want to go with this old man to the new Jade Restaurant**? A friend of mine owns it, it is a new restaurant."

Mo Xing said, "Uncle, you do know that you're only 50? Why do you make yourself sound so old." with a helpless smile hanging on her lips.

"I am half a century old! Give this old man a rest my dear." Liu Liwei shamelessly spoke while being dramatic

Mo Xing slightly giggled before saying, "Uncle, are you sure you are the stern, cunning, cold, and stubborn Liu Liwei that others talk about? You are acting very dramatic and shameless tsk tsk" and shaking her head while clicking her tongue

"I can say the same for you Xiao Xing, you also are known to be what they call a 'cold mysterious beauty' but all I see is the little girl in you" Liwei said while shrugging and smiling.

"I am no longer a little girl uncle" Xing said helplessly

"Yes yes of course, let us go to the Jade Restaurant ok? I am hungry and I am sure you are too" Liwei said while helplessly but happily smiling.

Both had already gotten into Liwei's car and they drove to the restaurant.
