Last of the Time Lords

Beach…

A man signals to a rowing boat offshore with an oil lamp as two women are standing behind him. It comes in and Martha gets out with Mami and Kyoko. The boat and its crew leave.

"Tsubasa." Mami said, looking at the Symphogear wielder. "Hi."

"Hey, Mami." Tsubasa said. "It's been a whole year since we fought alongside each other at the Fall of Beacon."

"It was a pain in our ass defeating monsters we haven't fought before." Kyoko said, eating an apple. "Hello Maria. I'm sorry about Kirika and Shirabe."

"Thanks. It's okay." Maria said. "We've run out of LiNKER anyway."

"It's a bit unfortunate how we don't have a group of twelve to take on the Master." Mami said. "But only a group of four. Hibiki Tachibana would have been our wildcard against him."

"And Yukine Chris saved you guys too. But she died in the process while Maria and I were stuck in London. Is this the TARDIS translating?" Tsubasa asked.

"Yes, it is." Kyoko said, eating her apple still. "It gets inside our head."

"There's a lot of people depending on you three. You're all a bit of a legend." Tom said, smiling.

"What does the legend say?" Martha asked.

"That you sailed the Atlantic with those two, walked across America. That you were the only people to get out of Japan alive. When some of the Symphogear users have failed. Martha Jones, Mami Tomoe, and Kyoko Sakura, they say, they're going to save the world. Bit late for that." Tom said.

They walk up to a flat bed van.

"How come you can drive? Don't you get stopped?" Martha asked.

"Medical staff. Used to be in paediatrics back in the old days. But that gives me a licence to travel so I can help out other the labour camps." Tom said.

"Great. We're travelling with a doctor." Martha said, annoyed.

Van cab…

"Story goes that you're the only people on Earth who can kill him. That you, and you three alone, can kill the Master stone dead." Tom said.

"Let's just drive." Kyoko said.

Flight deck…

"Citizens rejoice. Your lord and master stands on high, playing track three." The Master said, entering the flight deck and starts dancing to I Can't Decide by Scissor Sisters.

"Man, I hate you so much." Jared said, while the Master goes up to Lucy, kisses her and they dance together. "Incubator. I do."

"You hating me is completely illogical. When we basically have the same goal in the end." Kyubey said, walking towards Jared.

"We don't have the same goal!"

"You know, if I wanted to. I could tell the Master what your biggest fears are. With you out of the way, we can have access to the Law of Cycles."

"Get your paws off of her! No wonder you failed last time." Jared said, sitting down in a chair. "Homura was a couple steps ahead of you."

"And now I'm a couple steps ahead of you. You basically told me where the Symphogear users were."

"I never did."

"Oh, you will. But aren't you happy that you're keeping your magical girls safe?" Kyubey asked.

"In what world would I be happy with you around?" Jared asked, as Francine the maid serves tea.

"Your meddling with time brought me here." Kyubey said, and the Master rings a ships bell and the Doctor crawls out of his straw-strewn tent.

"It was only a little bit." Jared said, while the Master forces the Doctor into a wheelchair and takes him for a push around the deck.

"If you didn't want me here. Then magical girls wouldn't exist."

"I would only have the Symphogear users. And Teams RWBY and JNR."

"In another version of reality, the Law of Cycles wouldn't exist. And we would still be able to use witches as a power source."

"I still don't like you ever." Jared said, arms on the table. "If I could shoot you now, I could. But you're immortal.���

"It's ready to rise, Doctor. The new Time Lord Empire. It's good, isn't it? Isn't it good? Anything? No? Anything? Oh, but they broke your hearts, didn't they, those Toclafane, ever since you worked out what they really are. They say Martha Jones has come back home with Kyoko Sakura and Mami Tomoe. Now why would they do that?" The Master asked.

"Leave them alone." Jared said, leaning back on the chair. "Please."

"But the Doctor said something to Martha, didn't he? And Jared, you said something to Mami and Kyoko. On the day I took control. What did the both of you tell them?" The Master asked.

"I have one thing to say to you. You know what it is." The Doctor said.

"Oh no, you don't!" The Master said, pushing the Doctor's wheelchair away. "And you can shut up, fanboy."

"Valiant now entering Zone One airspace. Citizens rejoice." Someone on the speaker said.

"Come on, people! What are we doing? Launch Day in twenty four hours.�� The Master said.

The Doctor and Jared holds three fingers against their thighs. Francine repeats the signal to Clive and Nagisa, who are mopping the deck in a corridor. They pass the signal on to Tish, who is also a maid, as she takes a meal to the prisoners.

Brig…

"Man, it's been a long year." Sayaka said, on lower deck 2 with Jack.

Sayaka is grubby and tattered like the immortal Time Agent, but she is in her schoolgirl outfit. The two are being forced to stand all the time, wrists chained to stout posts on either side.

"Morning, Tish. Ah, smell that sea air. Makes me long for good old British fish and chips." Jack said, happily.

"I could go for some cake and tea made by Mami." Sayaka said, smiling. "They're good. I want some more of it."

"Yeah. Some more British cuisine would be good. Or some Japanese snacks. What do we get? Cold mashed swede. Some hotel. Last time I book over the Internet." Jack said, when Tish spoons him his food and puts three fingers against the container.

Jack winks.

"So, three o clock, huh." Sayaka said, smiling. "Thank you. I was able to still have a bit of hope, because of Jack."

Quarry...

A giant statue of the Master stands above the rocks.

"There are statues of the Master all around the world." Mami said.

"That idiot even carved himself into Mount Rushmore." Kyoko said, biting into another apple. "How are you two doing?"

"We're coping." Maria said, looking at the fleet of space rockets "As best as we could."

"If only we were able to save them." Tsubasa said, talking out something old.

It was Jared's nanotechnology armor and Tsubasa tossed it to Maria. Maria placed it on her chest and the armor wrapped around her.

"Wait, if this is Jared's super suit…" Maria said. "It would have the others' abilities on it."

"Yup." Mami said. "You see, your friends dying wasn't in vain. You have to know how to use it."

"Problem with that?" Martha asked.

"No. No, just er, wow. Anything else I should know?" Tom asked.

"I've met Shakespeare." Martha said, sadly.

Two spheres fly in from behind the statue.

"Identify, little man." A sphere said.

"I've got a licence. Thomas Milligan, Peripatetic Medical Squad. I'm allowed to travel. I was just checking for…" Tom said.

"Soon the rockets will fly, and everyone will need medicine. You'll be so busy."

The spheres fly off to the shipyard, laughing.

"But they didn't see you, Kyoko, and Mami." Tom said.

"How do you think we travelled the world?" Martha asked, wearing her TARDIS key.

"Tsubasa, Maria." Mami said, handing Tsubasa and Maria the TARDIS keys that was owned to Nagisa and Sayaka. "Wear these."

"How come?" Maria asked, placing the key around her neck.

They go back to the van.

"Because the Master set up Archangel, that mobile network, fifteen satellites around the planet, but really it's transmitting this low level psychic field. That's how everyone got hypnotised into thinking he was Harold Saxon." Martha said.

"Saxon. Feels like years ago." Tsubasa said, sadly.

"But the key's tuned in to the same frequency. Makes us sort of not invisible, just unnoticeable."

"Well, I can see all of you." Tom said.

"That's because you wanted to." Kyoko said, taking out a skewer of chocolate balls to eat them. "You wanted to see us."

"Yeah, I suppose I did."

"Is there a Mrs Milligan?" Martha asked.

"No. No. What about you three?" Tom asked.

"There used to be someone." Kyoko said, thinking of the times Sayaka and her got along, and the rest of the Holy Quintet that's up in the Valiant. "For the both of us."

"And for us." Tsubasa said, thinking of her fallen comrades. "We had a lot of friends that we liked."

���A long time ago. Come on, we've got to find this Docherty woman." Martha said.

"We'll have to wait until the next work shift. What time is it now?" Tom asked.

"It's nearly three o'clock."

Flight deck...

14:58 according to the chronometer up on the bridge. The Doctor, Jared, Francine and Tish are there, whilst Clive and Nagisa are still cleaning below decks. Jack and Sayaka can see a clock from their cage, too, and the immortal starts to pull on his chains, as Sayaka transformed into her magical girl form.

The Master enters the flight deck, "Time for my massage. Who shall I have today? Tanya. Come on, sweetheart. Lucy, have you met Tanya? She's gorgeous. Tanya, when we go to the stars, I'm going to take you to the Catriga Nova. Whirlpools of gold."

With seconds to go to 3 o'clock, Jack's chains are coming free of the wall, and Sayaka took out her swords

"You two should get to know each other. That might be fun." The Master said.

Tanya massages the Master's shoulders.

On the stroke of 3, Jack and Sayaka are free. Jack grabs a steam hose and points it at the guard. Nagisa throws water on an electrical circuit and starts a fire.

"Condition red." Someone on the speaker said.

"What the hell?" The Master asked.

"Repeat, condition red." Someone on the speaker said.

Francine throws the Master's jacket to Tish. She gives it to the Doctor who takes the laser screwdriver from the pocket and points it at the Master.

"Oh, I see." The Master said.

"I told you. I have one thing to say." The Doctor said, as the Master laughs.

Passageways...

Clive and Nagisa gets caught. Jack and Sayaka are confronted by a squad of armed men, so they surrender.

"Oh, here we go again." Jack said, while the squad shoot him.

"Yeah, I'm not gonna fight you." Sayaka said, looking at the soldiers. "There's no point, really."

Flight deck…

"Crap." Jared said, when the Doctor can't get the laser screwdriver to work. "I forgot about that."

"Isomorphic controls." The Master said, taking his screwdriver from the Doctor and punches him. "Which means they only work for me. Like this." A laser beam just misses Francine. "Say sorry!"

"Sorry. Sorry. Sorry." Francine said, angrily.

"Mum!" Tish said, running to Francine.

"Didn't you learn anything from the blessed Saints Martha, Kyoko, and Mami? Siding with the Doctor and Jared is a very dangerous thing to do. Take them away." The Master said.

"Move. Come on." A guard said.

"Okay. Gotcha." The Master said, helping the Doctor into a chair as Tish and Francine are taken away. "Oh boy. There you go, Gramps. Oh, do you know, I remember the days when the Doctor, oh, that famous Doctor, was waging a Time War, battling Sea Devils and Axons. He sealed the rift at the Medusa Cascade single handed." He then walked towards Jared who is sitting in a chair. "And I remember the times Jared took down the likes of creatures of Grimm, Noise, and saving magical girls along the way. He loved being around super powered girls, getting to know them. And look at them now. Stealing screwdrivers. How did they ever come to this? Oh yeah, me."

"I just need you to listen." The Doctor said.

"No, it's my turn. Revenge! Best served hot. And this time, it's a message for Miss Jones, Miss Tomoe, Miss Sakura, Miss Kazanari, and Miss Cadenzavna Eve." The Master said.

Workshop…

Tom cuts a gap in the shipyard's chain link fence, and they run to a building where an older woman is thumping a cathode ray tube in frustration, "Professor Docherty?"

"Busy." Docherty said.

"They, er, they sent word ahead. I'm Tom Milligan. This is Martha Jones, Mami Tomoe, Kyoko Sakura, Tsubasa Kazanari, and Maria Cadenzavna Eve." Tom said, looking at the five other girls in the room.

"They could be Roselia for all I care. I'm still busy." Docherty said.

"Televisions don't work anymore." Mami said.

"Oh God, I miss Countdown. Never been the same since Des took over. Both Deses. What's the plural for Des? Desi? Deseen? But we've been told there's going to be a transmission from the man himself." Do cherry said, when a static-ridden black and white image appears. "There!"

"My people. Salutations on this, the eve of war. Lovely woman. But I know there's all sorts of whispers down there. Stories of children, some with super powered abilities, walking the Earth, giving you hope." The Master said, on TV.

Flight deck…

Francine, Clive, Tish, and Nagisa are locked up, and Jack and Sayaka are back in their chains.

"But I ask you…" The Master said.

Workshop...

"How much hope has this man got? Say hello, Gandalf. Except he's not that old, but he's an alien with a much greater lifespan than you stunted little apes. But what if it showed?" The Master asked, on TV.

Flight deck...

"What if I suspend your capacity to regenerate? All nine hundred years of your life, Doctor. What if we could see them?" The Master asked, retuning his screwdriver and zaps the Doctor again. "Older and older and older. Down you go, Doctor. Down, down, down the years."

Finally the convulsions end. The Doctor is no longer sitting in the wheelchair.

"Doctor." The Master said.

A tiny creature with big eyes, rather Gollum-like, peers out from the otherwise empty clothes.

Workshop...

"Received and understood, girls?" The Master asked, on TV.

The broadcast ends.

"I'm sorry." Tom said, sadly.

"The Doctor's still alive." Martha said, happily.

"The Archangel Network is The Master's weakness." Maria said.

"It has to be. The fifteen satellites all around the world, transmitting to this day." Tsubasa said.

"That's why there's so little resistance. It's broadcasting a telepathic signal that keeps people scared." Docherty said.

"We could just take them out." Tom said.

"We could. Fifteen ground to air missiles. You got any on you? Besides, any military action, the Toclafane descend."

"Which is why Hibiki and the other Symphogear users died." Tsubasa said. "They got too reckless. And they couldn't get in contact with us."

"Anyway, they're not called Toclafane. That's a name the Master made up." Mami said. "It's a fairy tale made up by the Master's race."

"Then what are they, then?" Docherty asked.

"That's why we came to find you. Know your enemy. We've got this." Martha said, taking out a computer disc. "No one's been able to look at a sphere close up. They can't even be damaged, except once. The lightning strike in South Africa brought one of them down, just by chance. I've got the readings on this."

Docherty puts the disc into her computer, and thumps it as it struggles to read the data, "Oh, whoever thought we'd miss Bill Gates."

"So is that why you lot travelled the world? To find a disc?" Tom asked.

"No." Kyoko said, a Pocky in her mouth. "We just got lucky."

"I heard stories that you three walked the Earth to find a way to build a weapon. There! A current of fifty eight point five kiloamperes transferred charge of five hundred and ten megajoules precisely." Docherty said, looking at the screen.

"Can you recreate that?" Tom asked.

"I think so. Easily. Yes."

"Right then, Doctor Milligan, we're going to get us a sphere." Martha said.

"I'll do this." Mami said, transforming into her magical girl form and once she fully transformed, she took out her gun. "It's the least I could do."

Outside Mami fires her gun three times. A sphere chases her.

"She's coming. You ready?" Martha asked.

"You do your job, I'll do mine!" Docherty said, when Mami runs in.

"Now is a better time than any!" Tsubasa said.

The sphere gets caught in an electrical field set up across a narrow passageway. After a few moments, it drops to the ground.

"That's only half the job. Let's find out what's inside." Docherty said.

Flight deck…

The tiny Doctor is imprisoned in a bird cage.

"God, I hate them so much." Jared said, looking at Nagisa and Sayaka. "I really do. The Incubator and the Master. I want to kill both of them, even if I have to wait forever."

Brig…

Jack has a gun pointed at him all the time now.

"So, you're basically waiting until he lets his guard down." Sayaka said, frowning.

Cell…

"Yup." Jared said, placing his hands on top of Sayaka's and Nagisa's. "I am. I have the power of a god on me."

"Why do you want to kill him so badly?" Nagisa asked.

"Because he's an asshole."

"It looks like the Joneses are on the same page as you." Sayaka said, sadly. "They're pissed as hell."

"I mean it. That man made us stand on deck and watch the islands of Japan burning. Millions of people. And he killed Hibiki Tachibana, Miku Kohinata, Yukine Chris, Shirabe Tsukuyomi, and Kirika Akatsuki. I swear to you, he's dead." Tish said.

Flight deck…

"Your wife doesn't care as much about this." Kyubey said, sitting on the table. "Why does she look so sad? When she got everything she ever wanted with you. If she wanted to be with you, she should be happy."

Lucy is still in the glamorous red dress, but she's not a happy little wife any more.

"Tomorrow, they launch. We're opening up a rift in the Braccatolian space. They won't see us coming. It kind of scary." The Master said.

"Then stop." The Doctor said.

"Once the Empire is established, and there's a new Gallifrey in the heavens, maybe then it stops. The drumming. The never ending drumbeat. Ever since I was a child. I looked into the vortex. That's when it chose me. The drumming, the call to war. Can't you hear it? Listen, it's there now. Right now. Tell me you can hear it, Doctor. Tell me."

"It's only you."

"Good."

A sphere enters.

"Tomorrow, the war. Tomorrow we rise, never to fall." A female sphere said.

"You see? I'm doing it for them. You should be grateful. After all, you, the fanboy, and the Law of Cycles love them so very, very much." The Master said.

Workshop…

Docherty is trying to open the sphere, "There's some sort of magnetic clamp. Hold on, I'll just trip the…"

The opens the four quarters of the top of the sphere.

"Oh my God!" Kyoko said, while the sphere contains a tiny wizened head.

The head opens its eyes and makes them jump back.

"It's alive." Docherty said.

"Martha. Martha Jones." The sphere said.

"It knows you." Tom said, looking over at Martha.

"Sweet, kind Martha Jones. You and Kyoko Sakura helped us to fly.���

"What the hell are you talking about?" Kyoko asked. "What do you mean we helped you fly?"

"You two led us to salvation."

"Who are you?" Martha asked.

"The skies are made of diamonds." The sphere said.

"No. You can't be him."

"Creet? What happened to you?" Kyoko asked.

"We share each other's memories. The both of you sent him to Utopia." The sphere said.

"Oh, my God." Mami said, her eyes widening. "That is one of the saddest things I've ever seen."

"What's it talking about? What's it mean?" Tom asked.

"What are they?" Tsubasa asked.

"Martha. Kyoko. Martha, Kyoko, tell us. What are they?"

"They're us. They're humans. The human race from the future." Martha said, sadly.

Flight deck…

"I took Lucy to Utopia. A Time Lord and his human companion. I took her to see the stars. Isn't that right, sweetheart?" The Master asked.

"Trillions of years into the future, to the end of the universe." Lucy said.

"Tell him what you saw." Kyubey said, with Lucy holding him. "It's not like he cares really. A Time Lord's emotions is just as complicated as a human's."

"Dying. Everything dying. The whole of creation was falling apart, and I thought, there's no point. No point to anything. Not ever."

"And it's all your fault." The Master said, looking at the Doctor.

Workshop…

"We'd sort of worked it out with the paradox machine, because the Doctor said, on the day before the Master came to power, he said…" Martha said.

"When he was stealing the Tardis, the only thing I could do was fuse the coordinates. I locked them permanently. He can only travel between the year one hundred trillion and the last place the Tardis landed, Which is right here, right now." Mami said, recalling what the Doctor said.

"The Master had the Tardis, this time machine, but the only other place he could go was the end of the universe, so he found Utopia."

Flight deck…

"You and Jared should have seen it, Doctor. Furnaces burning. The last of humanity screaming at the dark." The Master said.

Workshop…

"The Utopia Project was the last hope. Trying to find a way to escape the end of everything." Martha said.

"And by that point in time, magical girls weren't really needed." Mami said, drinking a cup of tea. "Or they weren't around."

"The last beacon of hope to take away prepubescent girls after they become magical girls and before they become witches. Something must have happened to the Law of Cycles." Kyoko said, a Pocky in her mouth. "Like, what the hell happened? Where was the plan if there wasn't any?"

"There was no solution, no diamonds. Just the dark and the cold." The sphere said.

Flight deck...

"All that human invention that had sustained them across the eons. It all turned inwards. They cannibalised themselves." The Master said.

"We made ourselves so pretty." A female sphere said.

"Regressing into children. But it didn't work. The universe was collapsing around them."

Workshop...

"But then the Master came with his wonderful time machine to bring us back home." The sphere said.

"But that's a paradox." Maria said.

"If you're the future of humanity." Tsubasa said, walking towards the sphere. "And you came back in time to murder us, your ancestors…"

"You guys shouldn't be here. And you shouldn't exist."

"And that's the paradox machine." Martha said, frowning.

Flight deck...

"My masterpiece, Doctor. A living Tardis, and the Law of Cycles with her polar opposite, Homucifer, the three of them strong enough to hold the paradox in place, allowing the past and the future to collide in infinite majesty." The Master said, walking towards the Doctor.

"But you're changing history. Not just Earth, the entire universe. Madoka Kaname and Homura Akemi changing history of the entire universe twice was wrong. But neither one of them caused a paradox." The Doctor said.

"I'm a Time Lord. I have that right. Magical girls don't."

"But even then, why come all this way just to destroy?"

"We come backwards in time all to build a brand new empire lasting one hundred trillion years." The female sphere said.

"With me as their master. Time Lord and humans combined. Haven't you always dreamt of that, Doctor?" The Master asked.

Workshop….

"But what about us? We're the same species. Why do you kill so many of us?" Tom asked.

"Because it's fun!" The sphere said, laughing.

Mami shoots the head.

Flight deck...

"Human race, greatest monsters of them all. No wonder human girls said yes to Incubators to become magical girls. Night, then." The Master said.

The Master, Lucy, and Kyubey leave, and the sphere follows.

Docherty's room...

"I think it's time we had the truth, ladies. The legend says the three of you have travelled the world to find a way of killing the Master. Tell us, is it true?" Docherty asked.

"Just before we escaped, the Doctor told me. The Doctor and the Master, they've been coming to Earth for years. And they've been watched. There's UNIT, Torchwood, and SHIELD, all studying Time Lords in secret. And they made this, the ultimate defence." Martha said, opening the case to reveal a gun-like device, with a squeeze trigger and four small cylinders along the top.

"That's a lot of tubing." Maria said, looking at the three vials of coloured liquid. "Just to take down the Master."

"She's right, it's a lot for one man. All you need to do is get close. I can shoot the Master dead with this." Tom said.

"Actually, you can put that down now, thank you very much." Docherty said.

"Point is, it's not so easy to kill a Time Lord. They can regenerate. Literally bring themselves back to life." Martha said.

"Ah, the Master's immortal. Wonderful."

"Except for this. Four chemicals, slotted into the gun. Inject him. Kills a Time Lord permanently."

"And it's harder to kill a Time Lord than a magical girl." Mami said. "The only way to kill a magical girl is if they go from having loads of hope to falling into despair."

"Then all we have to do is kill them." Kyoko said, a Pocky in her mouth. "Once they become witches of course. At least with this, all we need is the four chemicals to kill the Master."

"Four chemicals? You lot have only got three." Tom said, looking down at the gun.

"Still need the last one, because the components of this gun were kept safe, scattered across the world, and we found them. San Diego, Beijing, Budapest and London." Martha said.

"Then where is it?"

"There's an old UNIT base, north London. Mami found the access codes. Tom, you've got to get us there."

Workshop…

"We can't get across London in the dark." Tom said.

"But isn't London full of wild dogs?" Tsubasa asked. "We can't go out there."

"Yeah." Maria said. "We'll get eaten alive."

"We can wait till the morning, then go with the medical convoy." Tom said.

"You can spend the night here, if you like." Docherty said.

"No, we can get halfway, stay at the slave quarters in Bexley. Professor, thank you."

"And you. Good luck."

"Thanks." Martha said.

"We really appreciate it." Mami said.

"We do." Kyoko said, taking out another Pocky from its box.

"Girls, could you do it? Could you actually kill him?" Docherty asked.

"We've got no choice." Martha said.

"Martha, you and those girls might be many things, but you don't look like a killer to me. At most, only Kyoko and Mami look like killers that have changed."

Outside the slave quarters...

Tom, Martha, Mami, Kyoko, Maria, and Tsubasa, dodge a patrol, and knock on a door.

"Let me in. It's Milligan." Tom said.

Slave quarters...

The place is full to bursting.

"This place is packed." Kyoko said, looking around.

"So, Mami, what are we going to do now?" Tsubasa asked.

"We're going to fix this." Mami said. "I don't know how yet. But we will."

"How will you bring back the other Symphogear users?" Maria asked.

"We'll figure something out." Kyoko said, smirking. "We always do."

"Are you Martha Jones, Mami Tomoe, and Kyoko Sakura?" A boy asked.

"Yeah, that's us." Martha said, sadly.

"Can the three of you do it? Can you kill him? They said you lot can kill the Master, can you? Tell us you can do it. Please, tell us you can do it."

"Who is the Master?" A woman asked.

A babble of voices.

"Come on, just leave them alone. They're exhausted. Especially Kyoko and Mami, since they are magical girls." Tom said, looking back at Mami and Kyoko.

"No, it's all right. They want us to talk, and we will." Martha said.

Cell…

"Tomorrow." Jared said, looking at Sayaka and Nagisa. "Tomorrow is the day we'll be free."

"Really?" Sayaka asked. "How will we break free of this place?"

"We just will."

"Okay, that really isn't helping much." Nagisa said. "If only you could explain how."

"Let me explain. First off, the Master found them. Or will find them."

"How did he find Mami and the others?"

Flight deck...

The Master enters in a silk dressing gown and wakes up the Doctor, "Guess what."

Slave quarters…

"The three of us travelled across the world, from the ruins of New York to the fusion mills of China, right across the radiation pits of Europe. And everywhere we went, we saw people just like you, living as slaves. But if Martha Jones, Mami Tomoe, and Kyoko Sakura became legends, then that's wrong, because our names aren't important. There's someone else. The man who sent us out there. The man who told us to walk the Earth." Martha said.

"Well, his name is the Doctor." Mami said.

"He has saved your lives so many times, and you never even knew he was there. He never stops. He never stays. He never asks to be thanked. But we've seen him. We know him. I love him. And we know what he can do."

"It's him! It's him! Oh my God, it's him! It's the Master. He's here." A woman said, entering the room.

"But he never comes to Earth. He never walks upon the ground." A boy said, terrified.

"Hide them!"

"Use this." Tom said, as they cover Martha with an old sack.

Mami, Kyoko, Tsubasa, and Maria are standing there, a bit scared of what is to come.

Outside, the Master is accompanied by armed guards and spheres. Tom readies his gun by the letter box.

"He walks among us, our lord and master." The boy said.

Outside the slave quarters...

"Martha. Martha Jones. I can see you and your friends! Yes, I'm referring to you, Mami, Kyoko, Tsubasa, and Maria. Out you come, little girls. Come and meet your master. Anybody? Nobody? No? Nothing? Positions. I'll give the order unless you lot surrender. Ask yourself. What would the Doctor, Madoka, and Hibiki do?" The Master asked.

Martha, Mami, Kyoko, Tsubasa, and Maria takes off the Tardis keys and goes outside.

"Oh, yes. Oh, very well done. Good girls. They trained you all well. Bag. Give me the bag. No, stay there. Just throw it." The Master said.

Martha throws her backpack towards the Master, who fires his laser screwdriver at it.

"And now, good companion, Symphogear users, and magical girls your work is done." The Master said, pointing his laser at Martha, Mami, Kyoko, Maria, and Tsubasa.

Tom runs out of the house, "No!"

The Master kills Tom, and laughs.

"But you, when you die, the Doctor and Jared should be witness, hmm? Almost dawn, Martha, Mami, and Kyoko, and planet Earth marches to war." The Master said. "There's no point in bringing you two along, Maria and Tsubasa. You both already lost everything thanks to me. So see ya!"

Flight deck…

"Citizens of Earth, rejoice and observe." The Master said.

Guards bring Martha, Mami, and Kyoko in. Clive, Francine and Tish are already there on one side. And Jack, Jared, Sayaka, and Nagisa on the other.

"Your teleport device, in case you thought I'd forgotten." The Master said.

Martha throws the vortex manipulator to the Master.

"And now, kneel. Down below, the fleet is ready to launch. Two hundred thousand ships set to burn across the universe. Are we ready?" The Master asked.

"The fleet awaits your signal. Rejoice!" A man said, over the speaker.

"Three minutes to align the black hole converters. Counting down. I never could resist a ticking clock. My children, are you ready?" The Master asked.

"We will fly and blaze and slice. We will fly and blaze and slice." The spheres said, in order.

"At zero, to mark this day, the children Martha Jones, Mami Tomoe, and Kyoko Sakura will die. My first blood. Any last words? No? Such a disappointment, this one. Days of old, Doctor, you had companions who could absorb the time vortex. And there's another race from the days of old, Jared, you've met someone who used a Gungnir against its antithesis. This one's useless. Bow your head. And so it falls to me, as Master of all, to establish from this day, a new order of Time Lords. From this day forward…" The Master said, as Jared laughs quietly at the same time as Martha. "What. What's so funny? Why are you both laughing?"

"A gun." Martha said.

"What about it?"

"That gun in four parts." Jared said, still laughing.

"Yes, and I destroyed it."

"You know that gun in four parts. Why would there be one scattered around the world?" Kyoko asked.

"That's like scattering the Infinity Stones across the entire universe. Did you really believe that?" Mami asked. "Jared's right, you did fall for it."

"What do you mean?" The Master asked.

"As if I would ask them to kill." The Doctor said.

"Oh well, it doesn't matter. I've got them exactly where I want them."

"But we knew what Professor Docherty would do. The Resistance knew about her son." Martha said. "We told her about the gun, so she'd get us here at the right time."

"Oh, but you're still going to die. Along with Mami and Kyoko." The Master said.

"Don't you want to know what we were doing, travelling the world?" Kyoko asked, a Pocky in her mouth.

"Tell me."

"We told a story, that's all. No weapons, just words. We did just what the Doctor and Jared said. We went across the continents together, the three of us. And everywhere we went, we found the people, and we told them our story." Martha said. "We told them about the Doctor and the Law of Cycles. And we told them to pass it on, to spread the word so that everyone would know about the Doctor and Madoka Kaname."

"Faith and hope? Is that all?"

"Well, we gave them an instruction." Mami said, standing up with Martha and Kyoko.

"Like the Doctor and Jared wanted." Kyoko said, smirking.

"We told them that if everyone thinks of three words, at one specific time…" Martha said.

"Nothing will happen. Is that your weapon? Prayer?" The Master asked.

"Right across the world, in three words, just one thought at one moment but with fifteen satellites."

"What?"

"The Archangel Network." Nagisa said, happily.

"A telepathic field binding the whole human race together, with all of them, every single person on Earth, thinking the same thing at the same time. And those words are Doctor and Madoka." Martha said, when the timer hits zero.

The Doctor and his cage starts to glow. While down in the TARDIS, Madoka started to get all of her energy back. While Homura is still drained of all life.

"Stop it. No, no, no, no, you don't." The Master said.

"Doctor. Madoka." Sayaka said.

"Doctor. Madoka." Jack said.

"Doctor. Madoka." Francine said.

"Doctor. Madoka." Nagisa said.

"Don't." The Master said.

"Doctor. Madoka. Doctor. Madoka. Doctor. Madoka." A crowd said, on the monitor.

"Stop this right now. Stop it!" The Master said, angrily.

"Doctor. Madoka." Mami said.

"Doctor. Madoka." Jared said.

"Doctor. Madoka." Kyoko said.

"Doctor. Madoka." Jack said.

"Doctor. Madoka." Martha said.

"Doctor. Madoka." The crowd said, on monitor.

The Doctor is back to his previous centegenarian form. While Madoka Kaname is getting all of her life back.

"Madoka Kaname and I have had a whole year to tune ourselves into the psychic network and integrate with its matrices." The Doctor said.

"I order you to stop!" The Master said, angrily.

"Doctor. Madoka. Doctor. Madoka. Doctor. Madoka. Doctor. Madoka." The crowds said.

"Doctor. Madoka." Lucy said.

"The one thing you can't do. Stop them thinking." The Doctor said, back in his normal appearance.

While Madoka managed to get all of her life back, and she is back in her goddess form. She managed to wake up Homura and the two are aware as to what happened.

"Tell me the human race is degenerate now, when they can do this." The Doctor said.

Martha runs to Francine and Tish for a group hug. Jared runs over to Sayaka, Nagisa, Mami, and Kyoko for a group hug as well. Madoka and Homura then joined the group hug involving their best friends.

"Thank god, this year will be reversed." Jared said, happily. "μ's and Aqours will be happening in the right place and time, that being in the 2010s. And Seasons 3-4 of Symphogear will happen too."

"No!" The Master said, firing his laser screwdriver at the Doctor, but the energy field is still around him and it doesn't get through.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." The Doctor said.

"Then I'll kill them." The Master said.

The Doctor stretches out his hand and the screwdriver flies from the Master's hand.

"You can't do this. You can't do it. It's not fair!" The Master said, terrified.

"And you know what happens now." The Doctor said.

"No! No! No! No!"

The Doctor floats towards the Master.

"You wouldn't listen." The Doctor said.

"No!"

"Because you know what I'm going to say."

"No." The Master said, curling into a ball in the corner.

The Doctor puts his arms around him, "I forgive you."

"My children."

"Protect the paradox. Protect the paradox. Protect the paradox." The spheres said, in orbit.

Jared looked over at Madoka and Homura to see that they're phasing in and out of existence, meaning that they're there but also not there.

"Captain, Mami, the paradox machine!" The Doctor said. "I don't know how much longer Madoka and Homura can last! They're barely here!"

"You men, with me! Mami, let's go! Jared, Sayaka, Nagisa, Kyoko. You stay here, protect Martha and her family at all costs." Jack said.

The Doctor and Jared spots the Master activating the manipulator, and grabs it, "No!"

Quarry...

"Now it ends, Doctor, Jared. Now it ends." The Master said, hearing a roll of thunder.

"Son of a…" Jared said, hearing sirens sound in the shipyard. "Be safe girls."

Flight deck...

"We've all six billion spheres heading right for us." Martha said.

Quarry…

"We have control of the Valiant!" Jared said, looking at the Master. "You can't launch the missiles into the space. We've won, Master."

"Oh, but I've got this. Black hole converter inside every ship. If I can't have this world, Doctor, Jared, then neither can the both of you. We shall stand upon this Earth together, as it burns." The Master said.

Valiant…

Jack, Mami, and the guards find three spheres are guarding the Tardis, so they start shooting at them. The rest are hurtling back down towards the Valiant.

"Can't get in. We'd get slaughtered." A guard said.

"Yeah. Happens to us a lot." Jack said, going into the TARDIS with Mami.

Quarry...

"Weapon after weapon after weapon. All you do is talk and talk and talk. But over all these years and all these disasters, I've always had the greatest secret of them all. I know you. Explode those ships, you kill yourself. That's the one thing you can never do. Give that to me." The Doctor said, while the Master hands over the black hole converter trigger.

Jack and Mami gets inside the Tardis. The immortal former Time Agent empties his machine gun clip at the paradox machine with Mami emptying her pistol at the paradox machine too. It goes Bang.

At the quarry, the ground shakes as the Doctor, Jared, and the Master struggle for the vortex manipulator. They disappear together.

(Jared's POV)

Flight deck…

The spheres disappear and the ship shakes. Papers are flying everywhere. Martha gets thrown into the Doctor's arms. I grabbed onto a railing, holding onto the hands of each of the Holy Quintet, with Nagisa on the end, making a barrel of monkeys.

"Everyone get down! Time is reversing!" The Doctor said, angrily.

"Don't let go, girls!" I said, happily. "This is it!"

The Master is hanging onto some railings like me and the magical girls. Francine sees a pistol on the floor. Meanwhile, the winds of time are creating havoc and panic on the ground, until finally the people, the rockets and the statues disappear. Calm returns and a red bus drives around Piccadilly Circus.

"The paradox is broken. We've reverted back, one year and one day. Two minutes past eight in the morning." The Doctor said.

"This is UNIT Central. What's happened up there? We just saw the President assassinated." A man said, over the speaker.

"Just after the President was killed, but just before the spheres arrived. And μ's and Aqours are now gonna be formed in the right decade, that being the 2010s." The Doctor said.

"Everything's back to normal." I said, jumping down onto the floor, looking over at Madoka and Homura. "Planet Earth's restored to the way it was."

"And I have all of my power back as the Law of Cycles." Madoka said, smiling. "Thank you. None of it ever happened."

"They're right. The rockets, the terror. It never was." The Doctor said.

"What about the spheres?" Kyoko asked.

"Oh, they're trapped at the end of the universe." I said, giving Homura the red ribbon that belonged to Madoka Kaname. "I believe that this belongs to you."

"But I can remember it." Francine said.

"We're at the eye of the storm. The only ones who'll ever know. Oh, hello. You must be Mister Jones. We haven't actually met." The Doctor said

"You did it." Sayaka said, laughing as the Master runs for the door. "More like we did it. All of us did it."

Jack and Mami are coming in.

"Whoa, big fella! You don't want to miss the party. Cuffs. So, what do we do with this one?" Jack asked.

"This has been a long year." Nagisa said, as she looked down at Kyubey. "What will we do with the Incubator?"

"That thing has caused us all pain and suffering." Kyoko said, using her ring to transform into her magical girl look. "I say we end it here and now."

"Why can't we talk things through with it?" I asked, as I walked away for a moment.

"Do you know what each of us went through?" Sayaka asked.

"So what? Let's hear what it had to say."

"What's going on here is not what I had in mind." Kyubey said. "Each of you turned into witches one way or another. A food supply or an energy source."

"That does not give you a right to exist in this world." I said, grabbing a gun from Homura. "I've spent years avoiding you. And what you made these girls go through…"

"You want to end it here and now. But I'm not the one you want to kill."

"Yes, you are. Thanos won't come into play for like ten years."

"I can do this." Homura said, walking over to me and grabbing her gun back. "With everyone in red alert. I'll be locked up."

"I know. Homura, do it."

"Actually, um, how about we settle things in another time and place?" Madoka asked. "Maybe when there's less people around."

"If that's what you want." Kyubey said, jumping off of the table.

The Incubator walked out of the room. And the Madoka Kaname disappeared, along with Sayaka Miki and Nagisa Momoe.

"There you go. I've got you. I've got you." The Doctor said, holding the Master.

"Always the women." The Master said.

"I didn't see her."

"Dying in your arms. Happy now?"

"You're not dying. Don't be stupid. It's only a bullet. Just regenerate."

"No."

"One little bullet. Come on."

"I guess you don't know me so well. I refuse." The Master said.

"Regenerate. Just regenerate. Please. Please! Just regenerate. Come on." The Doctor said.

"And spend the rest of my life imprisoned with you?"

"You've got to. Come on. It can't end like this. You and me, all the things we've done. Axons. Remember the Axons? And the Daleks. We're the only two left. There's no one else. Regenerate!"

"How about that. I win. Will it stop, Doctor? The drumming. Will it stop?" The Master asked, dying.

"No!"

Somewhere, later, the Doctor lights the Master's funeral pyre then walks away.

Mami's house…

"That year was interesting." Nagisa said, sipping a cup of tea.

"I'm sorry I put you all through that." I said, looking between the Holy Quintet and Nagisa. "I wish I could have stopped it sooner."

"It's okay." Kyoko said. "If you told us ahead of time…"

"Things would have ended up a lot worse." Sayaka said.

"I walked around earlier." Homura said. "It looks like everyone forgot Madoka."

"This is you. When you're still happy." I said, smiling. "I'm glad."

"Of what?" Madoka asked. "Is it due to you putting everything right?"

"No. It's because time reversed."

"I have a responsibility to get back to. Why don't you come?"

"Me?"

"Yeah." Sayaka said. "Even if you're not a magical girl, you keep things in the balance."

"I do."

"What will you do with yourself?" Mami asked.

"I'm going to spend a couple days with you guys. And then full dive into virtual worlds."

Roald Dahl Plass...

"Time was, every single one of these people knew your name. Now they've all forgotten you and the Law of Cycles." Martha said.

"Good." The Doctor said.

"Back to work." Jack said, smiling.

"I really don't mind, though. Come with me."

"I had plenty of time to think that past year, the year that never was, and I kept thinking about that team of mine. Like you said, Doctor, responsibility."

"Defending the Earth. Can't argue with that." The Doctor said, taking Jack's hand and exposes the vortex manipulator on his wrist.

"Hey, I need that."

"I can't have you walking around with a time travelling teleport. You could go anywhere, twice. The second time to apologise. The only person I could trust with a time traveling teleport is Jared." The Doctor said, sonicking the manipulator.

"Thanks." I said, happily. "I do things less recklessly nowadays."

"Less recklessly? Don't you mean, more recklessly? Ever since meeting Hibiki, Kirito, Ruby, and Homura."

"Touché."

"And what about me? Can you fix that? Will I ever be able to die?" Jack asked.

"Nothing I can do. You're an impossible thing, Jack." The Doctor said.

"Been called that before. Sir. Ma'am. Buddy. But I keep wondering. What about aging? Because I can't die but I keep getting older. The odd little grey hair, you know? What happens if I live for a million years?"

"I really don't know."

"Okay, vanity. Sorry. Yeah, can't help it. Used to be a poster boy when I was a kid living on the Boeshane Peninsula. Tiny little place. I was the first one ever to be signed up for the Time Agency. They were so proud of me. The Face of Boe, they called me. Hmm. I'll see you." Jack said, heading towards Torchwood's secret entrance.

"No." The Doctor said, shocked.

"It can't be." Martha said, her eyes widening.

"No. Definitely not. No. No."

"You knew?!" The Doctor exclaimed, looking back at me.

"When don't I know?" I asked. "I know what will happen until 2018."

Outside Francine's home…

The Doctor and I watch Francine, Martha, Clive and Tish inside the house from across the street where the Tardis is parked, then we go inside it.

TARDIS…

"Doctor, I'm leaving." I said, leaning against the TARDIS console.

"How come? Didn't you like traveling with me? Alongside doing monster hunting." The Doctor said, while his spare hand is now attached to the base of the console.

"I do. But I need some time on Earth to recover. I can't leave the Holy Quintet. After all that."

"I get it. I do. How about Team RWBY?"

"They're disbanded. After the Fall of Beacon. I miss them."

"Why can't you see them?"

"Timelines and all that."

"So, you're actually staying on Earth. Is this for the Law of Cycles?"

"Mostly for Homura. I don't want to see her suffer for Madoka's sake." I said, letting out a sigh.

"Okay. I get it." The Doctor said, when Martha entered the TARDIS. "Right then, off we go. The open road. There is a burst of starfire right now over the coast of Meta Sigmafolio. Oh, the sky is like oil on water. Fancy a look? Or back in time. We could, I don't know, Charles the Second? Henry the Eighth. I know. What about Agatha Christie? I'd love to meet Agatha Christie. I bet she's brilliant. Okay."

"I just can't." Martha said, sadly.

"Yeah."

"Spent all these years training to be a doctor. Now I've got people to look after. They saw half the planet slaughtered and they're devastated. I can't leave them."

"Of course not. Thank you. Martha Jones, you, Mami, and Kyoko saved the world."

"Yes, we did. I spent a lot of time with you and Jared thinking I was second best, but you know what? I am good."

"Yes, you are, Doctor Jones." I said, walking towards Martha. "Doctor, will you be okay without us?"

"Always. Yeah." The Doctor said.

"Right then. Bye." Martha said, leaving the TARDIS, then she goes back inside. "Because the thing is, it's like my friend Vicky. She lived with this bloke, student housing, there were five of them all packed in, and this bloke was called Sean. And she loved him. She did. She completely adored him. Spent all day long talking about him."

"Is this going anywhere?"

"Yes. Because he never looked at her twice. I mean, he liked her, but that was it. And she wasted years pining after him. Years of her life. Because while he was around, she never looked at anyone else. And I told her, I always said to her, time and time again, I said, get out. So this is me, getting out." Martha said, as she throws her mobile phone to the Doctor. "Keep that, because I'm not having you disappear. If that rings, when that rings, you'd better come running. Got it?"

"Got it."

"I'll see you again, mister." Martha said, looking back at me. "Are you staying here?"

"No, let's go together, Martha." I said, exiting the TARDIS with Martha. "Doctor, I'll see you again. Someday."

I turned my back to see the Tardis dematerialise.

The Master's pyre has burnt out. A hand with red fingernails takes his signet ring from the ashes.
