That moment isn't far

Eli presses his ear on the door and hears her walking away. He lets out a chuckle. She was showing off how she had more experience, but she gets flustered at the sight of a boner. His wife is so cute.

He looks down and sighs. This was a surprise.

He turns on the cold shower and lets the cold water calm down the heat rushing through his veins, thanks to his wife's warnings.

When will she take him and become possessive of him? He wonders why she's holding back so hard. Is she scared that he might not be able to handle her possessive and jealous sides? Has she seen his? He loves her too much. He is envious of Baek Joon-Woo who got to be her first love. That's her past. It can't be helped. But he's hoping that he could be her last love.

His clothes are soaked, but his member is not going down. Eli runs his fingers through his hair, frustrated for the obvious reason. This is going to be hard. How long does he need to take a cold shower before it goes down? He is tempted to touch it for real while screaming her name. He slumps his shoulder and raises his head, feeling the cold water on his face. He's going to be late for work.

After fifteen minutes, he gets out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. His eyes search for her. Where did she go? He walks toward her room. He finds her sitting on the bed with headphones on with her eyes closed.

He smirks. He's late for work anyway. He stands in front of her and crosses his arms. She doesn't open her eyes, too engrossed in the music. He bends down his waist and blows air on her face. She snaps open her eyes in surprise. He straightens his back and grins. Her eyes become big and round, scrutinizing him from his head to feet. She takes off her headphones. "Why are you in a towel?"

"I had a long cold shower." Her reaction is too calm. Is she not affected by his nearly naked body? "I am cold."

"Of course, you are." She scoffs at him. "You are not wearing clothes. Your hair is still dripping water."

Eli scrutinizes her face. Is she not a bit affected? Should he drop the towel?

"Aren't you late for work?" She frowns. "Why are you staring at me?"

"I don't want to go." He looks back at her. "I will tell them that I am sick."

There's no surgery today or any other appointment with patients. Days like these are rare. He has to give one lecture, but he would rather spend the day with his wife.

"You have an important job." She creases her forehead. "How many people will get disappointed if you don't go?"

"Some junior doctors." He scratches his chin. "You don't want me to take the day off?"

"You will drive me insane if you stay at home," She replies with a deadpanned voice. "Get dressed anyway. How long are you going to stand like this? You will get sick for real."

She's not affected by his near-nakedness. She doesn't even want to stay at home alone with him. Eli lets out a heavy sigh and walks toward his room quietly. This is the first time he showed his body to a woman and she didn't get affected at all. He looks down at his abs. Is he not her type or what?

I take a water bottle out of the refrigerator and drink the cold water to cool down my burning throat. I am not sure about him, but I am going to get sick after drinking cold water in winter. There's little I can do. I don't have the energy to curse that guy. But I did a good job. I am sure that I didn't show it. Even winter can't stop him from walking around half-naked in the house. He was totally trying to tempt me. Thank goodness! He didn't take off his towel. He has that much shame.

I am stuck with this mad person for a lifetime. I shake my head. I thought that I was crazy. But this man crosses all the limits of sanity.

"Wifey~" I hear him cooing. "I am ready."

I turn around and look at him. He's wearing a formal sky blue shirt and dark trousers. His wavy dark hair is combed back. With or without clothes, this guy looks heavenly. But I liked more him without clothes.

The first two buttons of his shirt are free. He always keeps those buttons free. But this guy probably can't guess what's goes inside a woman's mind when she's ogling a delicious man like him.

I don't know whether I should tell him to button up or not. I am also not sure if I should unbutton his shirt and appreciate his beauty or not.

Why I am doing this to myself? Can't I sleep with him without love in my heart? He seems pretty eager. We are already husband and wife. It's not wrong. Why should I worry about what's right or wrong in the first place? He cries about salivating for the meat, but I am no better than him right now.

But if I do it, I would be taking advantage of this man's love.

"Honey, why are you drinking cold water in winter?" He takes away the water bottle from me. "You will get sick."

"Then, you won't try to hug me." and leave hickeys on my ears or throats. I have noticed what he's been trying to do. Idiot! If I ever leave a hickey on him, I am going to do it to his face where everyone can see it.

"Wife, I am a doctor." He rubs my head and smiles. "You will stay sick for long in my care."

"What if I had an incurable disease?" I narrow my eyes.

"You don't have an incurable disease. I have done a full body check when you were in the hospital." He holds my hand. "Still, if you get an incurable disease in the future, I will go at any length to find the cure. You don't have my permission to die."

I blink my eyes. I know. It's impossible to choose who we love. Love is blind because it doesn't care about the differences. It doesn't take forever to love someone back. It takes only a moment for someone to realize if he or she is in love. That moment hasn't arrived in my heart yet.

Love is also an incurable disease.

"That moment isn't far," I mumble to myself and walk ahead of him. Clearly, he has no mood for work. I am not going to stay at the house all day with this mad man. For god's sake, I saw his boner a while ago.

"What moment?" He asks me curiously.

"When you get kicked out by your boss for breaking rules," I mutter under my breath. "You keep taking me to your workplace and causing scenes. Now, you are getting late too."

He chuckles and says, "Then, it will work out for the best. I can stay with you all the time."

"It will only work out for the best for you. I don't think that I can handle you 24 hours a day," The Devil yells at him. "Why did I think that he was a marshmallow? You already cancelled your suicide plans. How will I endure this person's madness?"

Both of us had been scammed by this person. It's too late. I don't think that anything can scare this person away.

[Somewhere in another world]

Behind the piles of books, Julienne is sitting on the floor with a book in her lap. She furrows her brows. She can't any creature named 'Homo Sapiens' at all in any book.

"Belinda, are you sure it's homo sapiens?" She looks at her sister. "Maybe you are pronouncing it wrong."

"You might be right." Belinda turns on her phone and checks the word in chat history. Her sister-in-law hasn't replied to her messages since that day. She wonders if her sister-in-law is angry about something. She reads the word again. "Twelfth Sister, what do you think it could be?"

"I don't know." Julienne closes the book. Seventh Sister returned from the human world, but she hadn't said anything yet. Did Seventh Sister meet him or not? Her brother might have hidden the homo sapiens from her.

Maybe she should ask Seventh Sister if she met him or not. But Seventh Sister never stays at one place for too long. "Belinda, have you seen Seventh Sister?"

Belinda shakes her head. "I haven't seen her, but Carmine might know."

"Yeah, she would know." Julienne exhales. Carmine is the daughter of the prime minister. She is Seventh Sister's closest friend. There's one more thing. Carmine Highmore is obsessed about Fourth Brother. Because of her, Fourth Brother left home around three hundred years ago. Nobody knew where he was until he suddenly appeared in the human world a few years ago.

Then, there's that second prince. What would happen if they find out that Fourth Brother is married? What would Father do?

She massages her forehead. It's better if they never find out.

"Sister, maybe I should ask the internet." Belinda says to her sister, "Maybe she used a human world's word for her species."

"Do you think that humans would have knowledge about something that is not present in these books?" Julienne huffs at her. "According to humans, ghouls hang out in the graveyard and eat rotting corpses."

"Ew!" Belinda makes a face. She turns off her phone. "Then, how do we find out?"

"I will go to the great library and look into the lists of rare species." Julienne stares at her. It's strange that Fourth Brother didn't deny her when she asked him whether he married a human. Was he trying to make her nervous or homo sapiens are something worse than humans?

"Brother had been in many worlds. Maybe he picked her up from some world." Belinda scratches her chin. "But we will still have inter-species nephews and nieces. Twelfth Sister, isn't that exciting?"

What's exciting about that? Julienne rolls her eyes, not bothering to answer her. She has to find out what homo sapien is. Hopefully, it's not something worse than a human.
