The-Fun-They-Had (III)

Harry looked around at the people walking around him while chatting among themselves with a grimace on his face. "Now that I am finally here, I have realized that I might have made a mistake…" Harry pointed out slowly while looking around, making Jacklyn chuckle in amusement.

"There is no need to worry… Even I don't know how to speak Spanish, but almost all the shopkeepers can speak English and even if someone can't speak Spanish, they can understand English without any issues" Jacklyn explained as she led Harry down the street.

"That's good" Harry admitted while nodding his head. It would have been a huge pain if none of the shopkeepers could understand him.

"Yeah, I was also worried about that when I came here, but this is probably the busiest Magical marketplace in the world. Wizards and Witches from all over the World come here to buy stuff… So, most of the shopkeepers can speak in more than twenty languages" Jacklyn explained with a chuckle.

Harry couldn't help but gape at the number… "That is quite impressive" Harry admitted with a hint of respect in his voice. He could only speak English and the shopkeepers here could speak more than twenty… If that wasn't impressive, then he didn't know what was… "You said people come here from all over the World to buy stuff, why?" Harry asked curiously.

"There are a lot of stuff which are completely legal in Spain but are illegal in other parts of the World. For example, here you can buy Nundu's Breath or even Dragon Eggs without any kind of restrictions and you already know that the Unforgivables are completely legal in Spain, so you can acquire a book on the said subject from any of the bookshops here" Jacklyn explained as she pointed at the bookshops dismissively.

"Not only that but a lot of other branches of Magic which are illegal in other parts of the World are completely legal in Spain" Jacklyn added as the two of them continued to walk down the streets. Harry nodded his head absentmindedly as he started to wonder what else he could buy from here…

"Well… Here we are" All of a sudden Jacklyn called out as she stopped in front of a shop with a wooden front. Harry inspected the shop and turned toward Jacklyn with a questioning look on his face. "This is an apothecary, right?" Harry asked only for Jacklyn to snort in amusement.

"Yes, but it is much more than that… Let's go inside!" Jacklyn declared before she grabbed him by his arm and started to tug him inside the shop. Harry wanted to protest, but before he could say anything, he was already inside the shop. After entering the shop, Jacklyn quickly made her way toward the counter, which was being manned by a middle-aged man.

"How can I help the two of you?" The middle-aged man asked with a pleasant smile on his face.

"I want to buy some flesh-eating slugs along with some man-eating venus flytraps and two full sets of werewolf organs" Jacklyn recited her shopping list. Harry who was checking out the wares in the shop whipped his head around to stare at Jacklyn in complete surprise.

The man manning the counter didn't show any outward reaction and simply continued to smile. "How many?" The man asked as pulled out a notebook and a quill from his leather apron.

"Fifty man-eating slugs and the same for man-eating venus flytraps" Jacklyn answered after thinking for a bit.

The man quickly wrote down something on his notepad and started to leave, but all of a sudden he stopped and turned around. "Typical man-eating venus flytraps or the bear traps one?" The man asked with raised brows.

"The bear trap ones please" Jacklyn answered the man with a gentle smile on her face.

"Alright. Wait here!" The man said as he walked away from the counter. The man disappeared into the back of the shop.

"Werewolf organs, what the hell, Jacky?" Harry hissed furiously, his words barely understandable. Jacklyn started to scratch her cheek with a sheepish look on her face.

"Well, you already know that I was planning to move out from the manor for quite some time and I was finally able to convince my dad. He bought me a house only a few days ago, but I wanted to surprise you so I didn't tell you…" Jacklyn chuckled sheepishly.

"Now that I think about it, I ruined my own surprise" Jacklyn added sullenly as she remembered that she was the one who dragged Harry inside the shop and she was also the one who invited him to tag along with her… She should have planned this trip better.

Harry simply stared at the older girl in front of him in complete bewilderment… She blabbed some random stuff, but she clearly didn't answer his question. Daniel Harper buying her a house was definitely a surprise, but he still didn't know why she was buying werewolf organs.

Harry finally regained his bearings after a few moments of silence… "That's a surprise… I mean… Whoo! I wasn't expecting him to buy you a house" Harry shook his head in surprise. "But that isn't what I was asking" Harry pointed out and Jacklyn finally realized what Harry was trying to say…

"...Oh" Jacklyn mumbled as a look of realization dawned on her face. "I am going to use them as fertilizers for the man-eating venus flytraps. I am going to use the man-eating slugs and venus flytraps as additional security" Jacklyn explained and Harry finally nodded his head in understanding.

To be honest, he didn't care much for the Werewolves… Harry has heard everything about Remus Lupin from his mom, but neither of them cared much for the man since the man disappeared after the War and Lily was still angry at him for never trying to look for Harry.

"You won't be placing Wards around your house?" Harry asked curiously.

"Of course, I will be placing Wards around my house, but Wards can be brought down… Grindelwald did that more than enough times during the Wizarding World War to get the point across. The man-eating slugs and the man-eating venus flytraps are going to be additional security" Jacklyn explained and after some pondering, Harry nodded his head in understanding.

"So, is there anything in this shop that might be useful for me?" Harry asked curiously as he once again started to inspect the wares, but most of the stuff inside the shop were Cursed artifacts. He didn't have any use for Cursed artifacts…

"Hmm… Let me think" Jacklyn muttered thoughtfully as she started to rub her chin. Then all of a sudden she snapped her fingers and an excited look appeared on her face. "I know the perfect item for you" Jacklyn admitted smugly.

"Really?" Harry asked unsurely as he inclined his head.

"Yes!" Jacklyn beamed proudly. "Tell me, kiddo, do you want to fix your eyes?" Jacklyn asked in a smug tone though she already knew the answer. She knew that Harry was blind as a bat without his glasses. To be honest, she kind of forgot about the Potion or she would have gifted him the Potion long ago.

"Really? I haven't heard about anything like that and believe me, I have looked" Harry asked skeptically. He was quite aware of his weakness, so he has been looking for a solution for quite some time, but he was yet to find any… Now, Jacklyn was saying that there was a way to fix his eyes, obviously, he was skeptical even though he knew that she would never lie to him about something like this…

"You haven't heard about it before because the Potion is very illegal…" Jacklyn emphasized on the 'very illegal' part. "I don't know much about the Potion, but one of my friends had used it back in my fifth year, and believe me, she was also as blind as you without her glasses… She had told me that the Potion was made after harvesting optic nerves from human eyes" Jacklyn explained with a shrug.

Meanwhile, Harry who was raptly listening to her words, turned a bit green when he heard that the Potion was made from the optic nerves harvested from actual human eyes. He started to wonder if he should go for it or not, but thankfully, before he could get lost in his mental dilemma, his mom came to his rescue…

|Hadrian, you must use this Potion. Your eyes are a weakness and your enemies won't hesitate to exploit any of your weaknesses| Lily explained firmly. Harry still seemed to hesitate a bit, so Lily decided to press on… |So what if they are made from harvested human eyes? Fixing your eyesight might save your life someday, so the Potion is worth it…| Lily added seriously.

Harry knew that his mom would have probably Sacrificed a human if it meant fixing his eyes… After pondering for a few seconds more, Harry finally agreed to use this Potion to fix his eyes… He realized that he was looking at the situation from a completely wrong angle. He wasn't the one who was doing the actual harvesting and if this was enough to scare him off from his chosen path, then he simply wasn't determined enough…

"Okay… I will buy one" Harry admitted while nodding his head and Jacklyn beamed at him proudly and started to pat his back… He could already guess that the Potion wasn't going to be cheap and the way he was spending his gold, it seemed that he needed to plan another diamond hunting trip pretty soon…
