Chapter 19! Received with Thanks!

As the cars moved away from the back car park, Aiden had everyone else leave as he stepped into Red Velvet like a regular customer with Calvin in tow. 

The two were checked in at the registration counter as Calvin had an alternative identity made available for them in case of situations like this. 

There are so many fake identities that, Aiden could forget his real identity if he attempted to commit them all into memory.

In the VIP section of a private room, Aiden and his assistant sat for a few glasses of liquor. 

There were very few people that Aiden could trust but Sky remains number one on his list at any point in time. Due to this, he wasn't killed when the drive got missing at Red Velvet but Aiden Rockerfeller stepped in personally to help retrieve the missing device. 

There was a rhythmic knock on the door which the occupants clearly recognized to be Sky. He didn't wait for any response as he knew it wouldn't come. He then reluctantly opened the door and stepped in.

After taking his seat, Aiden asked tauntingly "hope you got the package"

Sky responded in a neutral tone, "received with thanks!" He didn't wish to continue the topic and his childhood friend knew that he could not mock his manager for too long. 

The two discussed everything they couldn't speak about on phone, after which Sky requested permission to take his leave. Aiden only gave him a knowing look and broke his gaze from him.  

Sky knew for a fact that it was a yes to his request. Although Calvin had been quiet all along, he finally spoke when Sky was almost at the door "don't beat yourself too much! Shit happens!" 

Sky left hurriedly after that statement and it was like he was running from something. He was indeed running from something or someone. His two friends seated across from him had seen him become a failure in his very own territory and he couldn't face them right now. 

He was not running to go and be with his girlfriend but rather for some alone time. He had no plans of seeing Kelly anytime soon because he knew he would kill her if he saw her in the current mood he was in. 

Aiden has really done him a very big favor by bringing Kelly to him, knowing very well how much he loves her. He was also not interrogated according to the rules of the Rockefeller clan, thanks to Aiden. Sky is certain that neither he nor Kelly could withstand that.

They would have died within twenty-four hours if that were the case. After taking just three steps, Sky turned to look at the closed door with a complicated expression on his face.

He swore to get to the bottom of this as retribution for bothering his childhood friend this time. He knew the risks involved in Aiden showing up at a place like this, more so at a time when his identity could be revealed at any time. 

Positioning his best two men at the door, Sky left for his office on the last floor. He had no plans of seeing Kelly, the traitor. 

However, when he passed through his bedroom to pick a certain file, his legs moved on their own and took him to the balcony. 

He was scared shitless by the sight that greeted him. Sky immediately called for his men to take Kelly to her room and have her treated. 

He wouldn't blame his security team as everyone was ordered to stay away from the back entrance on this day. Even the CCTV was disabled. 

Sky did everything possible to prevent his friend from being spotted in or around Red Velvet. However, he saw no need to disable the CCTV in the pub or the front entrance. 

He thought he had forgotten everything about the treacherous vixen but when he saw her lying unconscious on the wet floor in the rain, he realized how much influence his former girlfriend had on him. 

Kelly never walks in the rain as she tends to catch cold whenever it happens. It was so severe that she nearly died of very high fever during one of the incidents. 

It was how Sky met an unconscious person behind Red Velvet on a rainy night upon returning from a business trip. 

Apparently, Kelly came to Red Velvet for a job as a waitress but ended up being turned away by Rita, a bartender at the time. 

On her way back home, there was a sudden heavy downpour that compelled her to return to Red Velvet, but this time, she chose the back gate knowing very well she would be thrown out if she happens to walk in through the front door. 

Coiled on the floor while shivering terribly, Sky had her treated and later hired her as his assistant after confirming she wasn't a spy. 

The news came as a heavy blow to Rita but Sky knew nothing about it. He wouldn't even care if he knew. However, when love started brewing between the two, Rita felt like Sky had cheated on her with someone else. 

Rita's crush on the boss had always been one-sided but she always saw other women as a threat to her dreams of being with him all the same. She knew it was impossible between them but when she saw the boss get together with Kayla, she raised her hopes sky-high.

Unknown to Rita, Sky would never look her way. He wouldn't even lay a hand on her if she stripped before him. 

Sky resisted the urge of going to the group to enquire about Kelly's health. He wouldn't stoop so low and present himself a weakling to his own people, in his very own territory.
