94 Feast of Shoa

To be honest, they didn't expect them to treat them well.. Especially since they were not Kuro's biological daughter. They had seen how the previous world had works. Once, they had a friend. Her name was Shirley. her parents divorced and soon long after that her mother remarried with another guy. She kept crying whenever they see her. It took a lot of counseling from their side for her to open up to them. It seems that though her new father was good to her, but the father's family didn't really like her. They kept telling her that she was not the same blood as them and not one of them. She was bullied whenever both of her parents not there, sometimes... they wont even feed her. In the end, although Ailee and Miya lived frugally themselves, they never failed to bring some snacks or food to give to Shirley whenever she come with bruises and tears. Their mom did always told them, 'To give is not only when we live in abundant, but also when we just have enough.' Which is why they had braced themselves when they were sent here. But then again, they know their mom would not allow them to go here if they don't trust these people to look after them.

But seeing how they had treated Kuro when they came to their house.. You would expect that they would treat them even worse. But what is this?

the moment they enter the main hall, a lot of people already sat down. Beautiful paper cranes of all different colors flying around with iridescent color of bubbles. It was completely look like a fairytale setting.

"Welcome to Shoa Tribe, the daughters of Kuro Shoa. We welcome, Ailee and Miya to our humble tribes. May the Gods look favorable upon all of us for this fateful meeting." They all stood up and bow altogether. Ailee and Miya once again dumbfounded. Grandpa Sei brush his long beards while laughing heartily.

"We are not one to not return favorable family members who had host us magnificently before this."

"Let's the feast begin!" Jars floating around here and there. Food were brought in, laughter filled the place. It was quite magical feast. There were even multicolored carps flying around, sparkling beautifully. Even the bad tempered aunt was laughing merrily as if they weren't facing impending war ahead of them.

And old lady walking drunkenly, smiling at Ailee.

"It's been a long time since we had such a feast like this. Is it true that you guys hosted the 'Legendary Tea ceremony, food and drinks?' Ailee slowly nodded.

"Gosh! I wish I could try even a drop of that Sake! They been talking about it but i never tried it myself. If only i could taste one... I would gladly die"

Miya tilted her head to sideway, clueless as to why they are making it as a big deal. It is just a yucky drink that gives you headache.

She took something out of her inventory.

"I have some, if you want." The whole hall become eerily silent. You could even hear the sound of pin drop with the sudden silence. The whole main hall erupt into chaos in a second latter. They were more than ready to jump toward Miya. Ailee erect barrier around her, as she saw them looking like a wolf going to devour a lamb, that said lamb is her sister.

The bad tempered aunt and Grandpa Sei coughs.

"Uhm.. Miya..." Miya blinks her eyes couple of time. Ailee bite her lips. She knew when her sister do that, she was acting all innocent. She must've planned for this.

"Miya dear.." The bad tempered aunt step forward with elegance and tried to show her 'its-okay-to-entrust-her-with-this' look. it was funny and she bet Miya is having a kick with this too.

"How many do you have that sake with you?"

"Depends....." Ailee rolled her eyes. Knowing her mother, she must have given her a lot of it. Not for her to consume but to use it for a bargain. Miya being a smart girl she is, she knew to use it to her advantages as best as she can.

"I'll give you guys these for accepting us here." She pushed fifty jar of sealed sake out of the barrier. The bad tempered aunt smile sweetly and quickly grab the large tray. distribute it each to everyone within the hall.

"I knew I like these two kids." the bad tempered aunt laugh before popping off the sealed sake. she raised it.

"I believe this will be our future, when we conquer those imbecile who dare to threaten our tribe! We will come victorious!" Everyone hoots and yell out loud before following her and drink. They all had this dreamy eyes on them. It was as if they could die in that moment.

Ailee deactivate the barrier. Seeing none of the bamboo straw hat people inside the main hall, she walk next to Grandpa Sei.

"I didn't see those people with bamboo hat."

"Ahh.. they won't come here.."

"Why?"

"Because of their own circumstances.."

"grandpa, why did they wear bamboo hat? is it some kind of trend or tradition?" Miya came near them. She was equally curious and wanted some answer.

"They were actually mourning."

"Did they lose someone?" And to think they had the cheek to play a prank on them.. they already feeling bad about it.

"Mourning can be for losing someone... or losing oneself.."

Miya eyebrows scrunch up. "What do you mean by that grandpa?"

"Some of them had lost their arts. Some couldn't harness their energy anymore... for those who had lived their whole life harnessing such power... it would feel like they had lost their limbs..."

"Oh.." Ailee and Miya shoulders droop low. Feeling even more depressed.

"Sorry..."

"You didn't know. Which is why i stopped it. So, no need to feel bad about it. I trust that both of you won't do it again."

Both of them raised their hands and nodded really fast.

"We promise, we promise! we never break our promises" Grandpa Sei laughed. He find these little kids adorable and full of potential. They would be someone great in the future. A future where he hoped that he could witness with his own eyes.
