Ayan's POV (Chapter 1: You Could Be A Serial Killer)

"I like to spend time with you. I know you don't. But I don't think you mind it too much."

...

"I hope you found our house easy to locate," Mr Kapoor says, passing me a plate full of biscuits. I smile and politely decline, shaking my head slightly.

Ansh on the other hand reaches across the table, grabs a handful of biscuits and stuffs them in his mouth, chomping.

Interesting fellow!

"Oh no-" I trail off when I look at the person who walked into the room, rubbing her eyes, appearing oblivious to her surroundings.

On her light toned skin is no amount of make up- either she doesn't wear make up or she just woke up. She's dressed in a loose top that has a sunflower printed on it and pyjamas that are torn a little bit and have a huge stain on it. I see her checking me out and smirk, returning the favour.

"Naira," her mother hisses and grabs her arm, taking her out of the room. I look at her amusedly causing her to glare at me. I send her one of my classic winks and her face turns hot red in anger.

We haven't even talked yet and she's already riled up.

Cute.

"Don't take her seriously," Ansh says with a muffled voice, his mouth full of biscuits. "She's a bit... you know?" He makes air quotes indicating a crazy person.

I raise my eyebrow at him when his father glares at him, shutting him up.

My mother asks, "Does she know how to cook?" I look at her weirdly. She has never set foot in the kitchen so why is she asking that?

"Eh, not yet. I have tried to teach her cooking but she just isn't interested," Mrs Kapoor says, rubbing the back of her head nervously.

I grin. Guess, I'll have to do all the cooking. Works with me.

Ansh leans closer to me and whispers, "Run while you still can."

Naira walks back in the room and sits next to Ansh who looks at her worriedly, unsure if she heard his words.

"Hello, Naira. I'm Ayan's mother Preeti and this is my husband Raj," my mother says, introducing both herself as well as dad. She nods at them and greets them both with a smile that reaches her eyes.

She has changed into a crop top and jeans but her face is devoid of makeup. My lips curve into a smile on looking at her.

"Should we let the kids talk alone now?" her father asks my parents.

"Talk about what?" Naira asks.

"Whatever you want to talk about, Naira," my mother replies.

"Umm okay," she says uncertainly.

Her mother asks her to take me to her room.

She looks at her in confusion when I grab her hand and lead her out of the room. She pulls her hand away from mine and wipes it across my jeans.

I shake my head at her. She huffs and grudgingly takes me to her room.

I run my hands in my hair while looking around the room. Her room is as tidy as a room could be without a speck of dust. There's a dreamcatcher on top of her desk that adds colour to the white painted walls. I make myself comfortable and sit on the bed.

"Cute PJs earlier." I smile at her cheekily.

She narrows her eyes at me and asks, "What are we supposed to talk about?"

Her question confuses me. Why won't she want to know anything about me?

"I don't know, what do you want to know about me?"

I sigh when she just stares at me without saying anything. "You don't want to know anything about your future husband?"

Her cheeks flame red and she glares at me. "Who the fuck do you think you are? My future husband, my arse. Are you delusional?"

I roll my eyes at her. It's so easy to affect her. "Shh, sunflower. No need to get so worked up. My family is here for a marriage proposal for you. Our families like each other. All that's left is for us to say yes." I shrug.

"Bro, I don't even know you. For all I know, you could be a serial killer."

Brozoned? Me?

No way. Ayan doesn't get bro zoned!

I chuckle at that and walk up to her. Her eyes widen as she backs away till her back hits the wall. I lean closer to her, making her shiver at the proximity.

Hah! I affect her so much.

"Baby, If I was a killer I would have already killed you," I whisper in her ear, controlling the sudden urge to bite it. God, snap out of it.

She flicks my forehead.

"Ouch."

"Do. Not. Call. Me. That. Do. You. Understand?"

"Okay baby," I say, smirking at her.

"Look dude, we're so not going to work out so let's just go downstairs and tell them that. Cool?"

I just shrug and nod.

Cool.

Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool.

I grab her hand again, smirking when she freezes and lead us downstairs.

"So do you like each other? Is it yes?" her mother asks me when we enter the room. I take a moment to look at the girl beside me and then say, "Yes. She's amazing. I sure have a handful now. She's so funny I'll never get bored." I smile at her and wink at her. I feel a little guilty for ambushing her like that. I just want to be around her. I don't know why. I just wanna be!

After rejecting so many proposals, there is this girl that has piqued my interest. Of course, I'm not going to let you go, sunflower.

She just looks at me dumbfounded and before she can open her mouth, her mother stuffs her mouth with dessert. I bite my lip to stop myself from smiling.

Our parents embrace each other and congratulate each other. When Naira has swallowed the dessert, she turns to me, glaring daggers at me.

If looks could kill, I'd be 12 feet underground by now.

"What the fuck Ayan? Are you crazy?"

I can't help but smile at how cute she looks when she's angry. It's like a child scolding someone for stealing their lollipop.

"I think I'm ready to get married and I like how cute you are. I feel like we will make a cute couple. What do you think, sunflower?"

With a murderous look in her eyes, she advances towards me. I catch her wrist before she can hit me and pull her close to me.

I smirk at her when she doesn't mutter anything else. Aww, I made her speechless.

"Aww, aren't they so cute. Should we set the wedding date for next month?"
