New World

A blinding light flashed through the alleyway home of Jacob. The young darker skinned bearded homeless man covered his eyes with his hands to protect his vision. The darkness was instantly flushed away by the light.

Had Jacob not covered his eyes and was able to see through the light he would see what looked like a sea of stars in the darkness. And within that sea was a burning figure of dark black fur hurling toward a puddle of filthy murky water in the alley.

When the burning figure of Atrix splashed into the puddle Jacob instantly shot to his feet. And took several steps away from his resting spot of blankets and cardboard. He knew something large must have fallen and was afraid that some kind of bomb went off near him and caused some rubble to fall.

When the light died down and the sea of stars vanished Jacob opened his eyes and blinked away the lingering white in his vision. When he was finally able to see clearly again he instantly saw the hulking figure that was Atrix in his bipedal wolf form. Atrix was flat on the floor his fur was missing in parts with steam coming off him. His blood was spilling from wounds that covered his whole form as well as from his ears, at least it was before the blood became ash and floated away with his wounds quickly closing.

Jacob could see that he was alive from his moving chest and twitching wolf like ears. And all he could do was stand silent and shake. So great was the fear in him that he nearly pissed his already dirty pants. Just being in the apex predator's company created an instinctual terror beyond anything he had ever felt. Even the beings that killed with a single punch or shoot lasers from their eyes were nothing compared to what was in front of him. He had seen and was once nearly killed by one of those beings and yet he would gladly go back to that moment than be here.

When Atrix sniffed the air Jacob nearly collapsed. And when his eye began to open he did something he swore to never do again, he prayed that he would live. That he would be able to survive this monstrosity and live to change his life.

And the moment that the beasts red eyes glared into his he knew that he wouldn't survive.

Atrix began to pick himself out of the puddle. His fur having long been regrown making him look regal once again. His brown leather pants fit him snug and seemed to clean itself from the filth. His belt with a golden wolf face buckle slightly glowed. The enchantment on the metal working to clean his whole form from the dirt and water.

He continued to glare at the shaking form of Jacob and felt a strong desire to rip his spine out. But he kept his calm and breathed in then out. He could smell everything. The stench that caked Jacob, the garbage dumpster behind him, the people in the buildings on both sides of the alley that he thought strange since they were so large.

There was only one thing that had no scent but he could clearly see on the floor in front of him. It was a strange red gem. It seemed to lose some kind of light from within every millisecond. And before he could even finish reaching down to pick up the gem it became completely dull.

He never forgot about the human in front of him. After he secured the gem in his grasp he began to walk toward the man who fell to his knees.

"Who are you human and where am I."

He could already tell that he wasn't in his city and not his empire either considering the strange mechanical sounds that he could hear and the smell of oil and strange mana surrounding him.

Jacob wanted to answer the beast in front of him but he honestly couldn't think of anything let alone speak.

This disrespect angered Atrix causing him to grab Jacob by the throat and lift him to his eye level. He was careful to keep his dagger like claws from removing his head from his shoulders.

"Speak human before I remove a pest from this world."

Of course this coupled with his legs dangling only increased his terror. Causing his already weakened bladder to finally fail.

"Disgusting."

Atrix began to tighten his grip to end the bug in his grasp. But just as he began to kill Jacob the gem in his other hand began to warm up. So he lifted his hand and saw the gem beginning to crack. He dropped the human in his hand and focused solely on the gem.

He could feel that this small red thing would be his ticket home it was the only thing that gave him the feeling of familiar mana around him. The mana signature of his home. The human on the floor had no mana in him like the people of his home. The dwellings surrounding him didn't have a trace of the environmental mana in the foundation that made strong homes in his world.

But the mana was so thick in the air of this strange place that he thought that it was never used.

The gem split in half and Atrix felt his hope for returning home begin to die within him.

"I'm Jacob and this is LA." He could finally talk because of the loss of pressure coming off Atrix.

Atrix heard him speak and tightened his grip on the gem, careful not to break it any further. And controlling his emotions.

"This isn't Ardele is it?" Atrix said.

"I do... don't kno... know where that is... sir."

"The Werewolf Empire have you heard of that human." He knew that an in educated filthy human, like Jacob seemed to be, might not know the name of his world but surely a human heard of the Werewolf Empire before as they have protected them for centuries before the betrayal.

"No sir theres no Werewolves on earth they are a mmm... they are a myth sir."
