"But anyway, let's not get distracted too much. I was about to apologize. It seems recent events have awakened a paranoid side of me, I am truly sorry. I suspected you based on a lack of knowledge and a lot of bad faith. For me you guys suddenly spawning inside the forest was reason enough to suspect you. As an excuse I will overlook you protocoling what happened here in your strange language, as long as you don't speak of it to anyone on this plane", Farheia said through Ophelia.
"Deal!"
The woman put her hand to her mouth and giggled at my instantaneous answer, while the dragon licked its lips like she had just closed a very advantageous deal. I didn't care, protocoling my and if possible Skarras adventure, seeing as it was the only interesting thing I had stumbled upon this far, was my top priority. Sadly one problem still remained.
"Do I still have to accompany Skarra and the rest? I mean I would love to, but as you can see, my body isn't quite in shape at the moment."
Despite the pain I hold up my bandaged arm to illustrate my point. The dragon's nostrils twitched again, as she sunk into her thoughts again. As she spoke again her tone was calm and collected, her voice had long since lost all hostility.
"As I gave the order I expected you to be faking at least the most part of your injuries. But considering you weren't forcing you to take part in this mission would most likely be a death sentence for not only you."
My shoulders sank as disappointment grasped my heart.
"Well, I guess next time then…"
"T-There might be a way", Ophelia said, the light in her eyes dimming again. Farheia and I looked at her. The dragon shook his head and the woman's eyes began to glow again.
"Using Kammarabas gift for such a thing would be unreasonable."
"But he seems to really want it, mother. Besides we have no idea of the magic that might lurk inside him..."
The conversation went on for a while. Watching them talk with each other was like witnessing someone with a split personality argue with herself. In the end, Farheia conceded. Her head retreated, her long neck wrapping around her body.
"Hallow's Pond is a home for many great mages. Kammaraba is one of them. He is what we call 'gifted', meaning he created a certain strand of magic that others can not replicate, at least not yet. He is a timesmith that can delay the consequences of certain things to a later date."
Ophelia pointed towards my bandaged arm and leg.
"For example he could make it so the wounds you have sustained will be moved to a later time, allowing you to take part in the mission, come back and then be injured for a while. If you would be willing to go to such extremes just to join your friend in her mission, then talk to Kammaraba. He is currently studying the 'transfer-effect' in his house at the southern market."
"That sounds great. Thank you very much."
I attempt a bow, but quickly stop, as the pain stuns my body again. A groan comes from Farheia accompanied by Ophelias giggle. She seemed to like being thanked.
"But don't let Xepec hear of this. He despises time magic, when it comes to healing wounds. He says it drains the tissue too much, or something. And keep in mind not to tell anybody but Venosa, Lopus and Skarra, what you have heard today."
"I will keep that in mind. No secret ever leaves my lips!"
Now it was her turn to bow. The movement caused her long blonde hair to flow down her shoulders like liquid gold.
"We thank you for your patience and hope to see you and your friend again when you retrieved our artifact."
