Lucas Hei

Violet wasn't able to hear what he said since she was so immersed in trying to wipe his shirt clean. She didn't even notice his hand on her back, gently escorting her with the back of his hand. With the stance she had now with her heels, he was worried that she might lose her balance again.

"Thank you. You're very thoughtful. I'm fine though," said the man who was still looking at her anxious figure. Although he couldn't help but notice her neck and perfectly angled shoulders. It looked enticing enough, especially with her creamy skin, making one want to touch or even kiss it.

"I ruined your shirt... I'm really sorry! I'll buy you a new one..." She trailed off the moment she raised her head and got a closer look at him.

His messy black hair was as dark as ebony but this time, something else caught her attention and those were his eyes. Her brown eyes shone brightly, reflecting the warmth of the sun. They were such a unique color, a mix of light and dark. His light brown color was soft, the exact shade of a latte. A ring of gold hung inside his iris, adding another layer of depth to his already beautiful eyes.

Violet never felt so captivated by someone's eyes but for some reason, the more she looked into his eyes, the more she was drowned in it, making it hard for her to look away. It was as if his eyes were looking into her soul. Aside from that, she was easily attracted to his eyes since it resembled that of a cat's. She couldn't help but suddenly remember the black cat she saw during her vacation.

"Marry me." She ended up blurting out.

The man's eyes widened, obviously startled with what she suddenly said. He blinked a lot before making a soft 'pfft'. He looked away and out of nowhere, a hyena laugh was heard.

The people nearby looked at the direction to which the laugh was coming from. They were wondering what's the commotion was about.

Violet snapped out and realized what she said which made her face instantly turn red. She didn't know what entered her mind that made her say something so embarrassing!

'Marry me?! Marry me?! The hell?! Are you crazy, Violet?!'

She wanted to dig a hole right there and then just to hide away from the man who was still laughing because of what she said.

A few seconds after he finally calmed down, the man looked at her once again, this time, he helped her stand up properly. He slipped his hand in his pockets after and chuckled, "Do you have a ring prepared? Shouldn't you have a ring prepared when you're trying to propose?"

Violet tried to calm herself despite how much she wanted to hide. She gulped a bit, raising her head to look back at him, her cheeks were still red. There was no going back now. She has to go on with the flow. "W-well... If you say yes, I'll give you one?" She tilted her head to the side in an adorable manner.

His eyes narrowed, scrutinizing her. The side of lips curled up into a smirk, smirking quite mischievously. He somehow reminded her of the black cat again. "You'll be debuting as the first person to cut my bachelor's life... but you see, I quite like my bachelor's life. You need to be more convincing if you want me to marry you."

She couldn't tell if he was being serious or if he was just playing along with her but judging by how he was going along, she thought that he might just be kidding around.

But Violet was an honest type. Flirting, fooling, and playing around was something she couldn't do. She decided to be honest with him. It may be a stupid move, he might think that she was crazy but she had already taken the first step in it by asking him to marry her.

"I like being single too." She sighed. "But I want a cute baby so it can't be helped, I am only allowed to have one if I marry."

"So you want my sperm?" He asked, crossing his arms with a slight smirk on his lips. She was able to grab his full attention now since he seemed distracted from the reason why he came in that place.

It was all going too fast. The pace of how things were going was giving her a headache. She really was going crazy. Aside from that, she was only embarrassing herself further as the topic went on but she has to keep it going. If she ended up scaring him away, then so be it. Raven did say that if it didn't work with this man, then he would just find someone else.

"Kind of?" She placed her hand on her elbow. "And a handsome husband as a freebie?" She was trying to work on her flirting skills.

"So my sperm, plus my looks." He chuckled in amusement. He raked his hair with his fingers and gave her a charming smile. "Ah, quite true though. Even I would want to marry me."

Violet wanted to roll her eyes at his narcissistic remark but she fought the urge not to.

"Anyway, do you want a drink?" He asked. "You've spilled yours."

Her eyes automatically landed on his shirt and her face flushed hard out of embarrassment again. "I-I'm really sorry about your shirt." She stuttered as she apologized again.

"It's fine. You made quite a neat pattern." He looked at his shirt, chuckling a bit. "Any drink preferences? Let me guess, vanilla milkshake?"

She blinked a few times, surprised that he got one of her favorites correct. "Well... yes. I'm impressed, you got it correct."

"You look like a person who hasn't been here yet." He snickered. "You do know that there are no vanilla milkshakes here, right?" He looked at her as if she was a kid lost in a place for adults.

"Of course I know." She huffed. "I was hoping that you'll actually take me somewhere else to get one for me." Since they were just near the counter, she went and sat on one of the vacant chairs. She looked at the bartender and ordered, "One Negroni." She was just intentionally showing him that she knew her drinks well.

She ended up looking adorable in his eyes when she did that. He smiled and went to sit at the chair beside her. He ordered a drink as well, the strongest one in the menu. After he ordered, he asked while looking at the snack menu, "What's your name, future wife?"

Violet couldn't believe what was happening at that moment. He was actually there, sitting beside her, and was still continuing in playing along with her. Did he think that she was still joking? If he did, then she was going to show him that she was being serious!

"Is that a yes to my proposal?" She rested her chin on her palm, looking at him with an unreadable smile. She was actually looking more into his eyes by doing that. For some reason, she didn't feel nervous with him, it was more like she was looking at a cat, a big black cat in front of her so she was quite calm this time.

The smile on her lips disappeared, "I'm being serious."

"I know. I can clearly see that you're being serious, young miss." He replied. "But you managed to catch my attention so here I am, willing to listen to what you have to say."

Was this a lucky spin? Did Raven saw this coming that's why he recommended him for her?

"I at least need to know who I'm going to marry." He stared back at her, staring at her long lashes that flutter like wings when she blinked.

She ended up looking away with a faint blush on her cheeks when he looked at her. She liked looking at his eyes if he wasn't looking at her but whenever he did, she would always suddenly feel shy to make eye contact.

"Isn't that the same thing for me? I also need to know who my future husband is." She smiled a bit. "My name is Vivian Lee." Violet was just being careful when she lied about her name. Although... it was not truly a lie since she used her mother's maiden name. She may have ended up being attracted to him but her guards were still up. She can't just give him her full trust even if he was Raven's friend. "How about you, future husband?"

Unlike her, the man gave her an honest reply, "My name is Lucas Hei. You can call me Luke."
