Chapter 22: first layer of purgatory land.

When Dongmei heard Kai, she could feel the little excitement in Kai's tone but ignored it, and then she nodded at Kai before she called out to the lady that brought Kai up to her.

She gave the lady the list and told her to get all the resources on the list and also twice what was written on the list.

The lady nodded her head before walking back outside to prepare the resources.

After the lady was gone, Dongmei looked at Kai for her while, "Young master Kai, I hope you don't mind me asking where you are from ?" She asked with a smile on her face.

Kai raised his eye brown upon noticing the change in tone; he quickly connected the situation and realized that Dongmei must have thought he was a hidden young master from a big clan because of the mysterious Caihong beside him.

"Aiya, Miss Dongmei overthinks; we came with our elder sister to enter the purgatory land," Kai replied with a smile.

Immediately after Kai said this, Dongmei's body shook a little, and she stared at Kai for her before turning to look at Caihong, who was ignoring their conversation.

She thought, if Caihong, Kai's elder sister, was this strong since she could feel a vast and dangerous aura from her, then how strong would their oldest elder sister be? With this thought in her mind, she became more careful and respectful to Kai.

Kai saw the change in her expression, and a cunning smile appeared on his face; he already had the plan to make Dongmei his trading partner, so he needed to make her fear and respect him, and since he wasn't strong enough to do that, he made up his mind to use the deterrence of Caihong and Elder Xieling to make Dongmei value him, so she will be able to get him more of the resources needed for his cultivation with the hope of being on his good sides.

"Ohhh, so young master will enter the purgatory land with your sisters ?" Dongmei asked.

"Yes," Kai replied before he started drinking the tea on the table before him.

It didn't take long before the lady that went to prepare Kai's goods returned with a box; she dropped the box on the table in front of Dongmei before she walked out of the room.

"Young master, these are everything you ordered, and your bill is one million low-grade spiritual stones," Dongmei said with a smile while she pushed the box toward Kai.

Kai opened the box to confirm, and with his strong spiritual sense, he could inspect every good, and after that, he kept the box inside his storage ring before giving Dongmei a pouch containing a million low-grade spiritual stones.

"miss Dongmei, I would like to partner with you in business, you see I always need a large amount of different resources, and it can be tough to start searching for them everywhere, but if we both partner together, I'm sure the situation can favor both of us," Kai explained.

Kai and Caihong walked out of the company after they were done and rushed to the other entrance leading to the Purgatory land since Elder Xieling was waiting for them there already.

Upon getting there, they saw Elder Xieling waiting for them with her hands behind her back while her hair flapped on its own.

"Are you done with your business?" Elder Xieling asked while looking at Kai.

Kai's mind shuddered like all his secrets had been seen through with that look, and he realized that Elder Xieling seemed to know about his deal with Miss Dongmei.

"You know about it?" Kai asked.

"Of course, I do since I can cover the whole of this region with my spiritual sense," Elder Xieling replied, which embarrassed Kai because he was riding on a woman's tail.

Upon seeing the embarrassment on Kai's face, Elder Xieling shook her head, "I don't mind you using us that way as long as you don't use us with bad intentions." She said with a smile before she threw a dark-red token to Kai.

Kai bowed at her first before checking the token, his name was written on it, but the aura that came from the token was too otherworldly, it was different from the demonic energy, and Kai couldn't understand what type of energy it was.

"That is the Abyssal energy in the purgatory land, this energy is present in the purgatory land, so you have to be careful because these energies are dangerous to the souls and mind." Elder Xieling warned Kai.

Kai nodded, and they all walked out of the military fortress, heading toward the portal leading inside the purgatory land; however, before Kai stepped inside the portal, he felt another sharp gaze with evil intent behind, and when he looked back, he couldn't find anything suspicious.

Kai shrugged his shoulder but raised his guard before stepping inside the portal; however, Sparrow immediately appeared after Kai stepped inside the portal.

"Hehehe, I have to report, boss" A devilish smile appeared on his face before he disappeared.

On a large training ground of a large courtyard located in the district street of the military fortress, a large group of people sat down on this training ground, and they numbered thirty; there were three figures in front of them.

One was a huge bulky man with a wild aura emanating from him; he was sitting on a throne chair, a male figure with slender stature stood on his left side, and a demonic lady with a lustful aura stood on his right.

These are the wolf gang mercenaries and the leader sitting on the throne chair is Wolf Fang, their leader, while the figures standing on his sides are the vice leaders.

"We will be entering the purgatory land to search for the devil's eye lily core and the immortal abyssal ginseng for the second prince, and he promises us a huge benefit that we can't resist," Wolf Fang said. "However, these two natural resources can only be found in the third layer of the purgatory land, so I hope you all prepared yourself for danger."

"Yes, boss," the group of thirty members sitting on the training ground answered in unison.

Suddenly Sparrow walked in and immediately rushed toward Wolf Fang; he knelt, "boss, that brat has entered the purgatory land with two ladies," he said.

"Ohhh, isn't he too weak to survive there, and how did he get the token to enter the purgatory land?" Wolf Fang asked.

"hmm, boss, I really don't know how he got the token, but I saw them meet up with another lady who had a mysterious energy around her in front of the portal," Sparrow quickly explained.

"I see; it seems things might get more interesting this time, alright, there is nothing to think of; let's set off to the Land also." Wolf Fang stood up after giving it some thought; then he started walking outside the courtyard while the groups of people also started following him.

They started walking toward the portal with a soaring aura and battle intent.

Immediately Kai stepped into the purgatory land, he immediately felt a sense of danger, and before he knew it, large sharp claws arrived above his head; he couldn't react in time to this sudden attack, however before the claws pierced his head a fast beam of fire pierced the creature body and it landed in front of Kai with a loud thud.

Kai looked at Caihong as the one that saved him, he did not bother saying anything or thanking her, but he will remember this in his heart because he could have died from that sudden attack. He was angry because of his carelessness, so he decided never to let his guard down again, no matter what.

Kai turned his gaze to the creature's body before him; he saw a creature with a muscular and sinewy physique covered in sleek, jet-black scales. Its body was a grotesque fusion of human and beast, with arms ending in razor-sharp claws that reflected its insatiable thirst for blood. It has wings with dark veins, pulsating with an eerie glow, as if imbued with the very essence of evil itself.

Its face was a grotesque fusion of human features distorted by malevolence. A pair of glowing, fiery eyes burned with an insatiable hunger, revealing a glimpse of the creature's sadistic nature. Its mouth was filled with jagged teeth, claws, and legs like a bird's.
