Warp Energy

"What do you want for dinner?" Zeta asked. As a bachelor his past life, he gained a few cooking skills. He wasn't perfect at it, but it was good enough to serve.

Nezuko simply slammed her hands on the table a couple of times, essentially telling him she didn't care. Although she was able to take her gag out, she preferred to keep it in. They acted like glasses, she'd take it out when eating, drinking or sleeping, but she seemed comfortable in it.

"Do you even have ingredients in this place?" Felicia asked. Today, she moved in with Zeta, along with a cute little Nezuko. To be honest, Nezuko looked more like Zeta's little sister rather than his child. The Death Korps of Krieg mostly consisted of teenagers and Zeta was no different. He estimated he was about 18-20 years old.

"Of course I do." He replied as he began chopping up ingredients and cooking the food. Stars filled Nezuko's eyes as she watched.

While he cooked, Zeta scoured the system's store.

(A.N. He had 155 two chapters ago. 250 from the quest reward = 405. 50 per day from the Mars point farming, 20 per day from keeping Nezuko safe. 475.)

Without much hesitation, he chose to buy [Psyker]. It was included in the [Misc] category of the shop. He would love to be able to wait until he could buy the Space Marine, but even Space Marines can't stop a mind attack which this world loves.

Plus, he has a bunch of other forms that can fight pretty well in its absence.

[Are you sure you want to buy [Psyker]? This will remove [Blank Gene] from the store.] The system informed.

'I'll pass for now.' He notified the system and searched for the Blank Gene. Without too much trouble, he found it.

[Blank Gene – 1000 points]

[Psyker – 300 points]

'Tell me the uses of both.' He ordered.

[The Blank Gene will prevent various magics and mind abilities from affecting you. Becoming a Psyker will connect your mind to the warp, blocking any mind attack but you will be vulnerable to physical-types of magic.] The system explained.

It was pretty simple, either separate yourself from the supernatural entirely and not be affected by it, or be able to use it, but also be vulnerable to it. Regardless of what he picked; he would be completely immune to mind attacks.

With his absolute technological advantage, Zeta would most definitely become the strongest in the universe should he not be able to get affected by Magic. However, he'd be able to be even stronger at the peak should he take the risk.

Zeta was greedy, and he needed the soul blocking as early as possible.

[300 points were deducted. Your mind will be connected to the warp once you fall asleep.] The system notified.

Nodding at the air, Zeta finished up with the food and chucked it in the oven. While they waited, Felicia, Nezuko and Zeta sat on the couch and cuddled while they watched various T.V. channels.

Nezuko had warmed up to Felicia in the past day. She didn't trust anyone else, but she could hang around the both of them just fine. Nezuko happily sat on Zeta's lap while Felicia leaned on his shoulder.

This wasn't the image he was expecting when he started dating Felicia. He was expecting to fuck her every chance he got, and he would've if Nezuko didn't come along. Even if the system didn't give him points for it, he would definitely still house Nezuko. Not only was she too cute, the show described the Black Sky as something awfully dangerous.

This was reason enough to deal with abstinence.

Dinner progressed smoothly. Felicia and Nezuko seemed to enjoy their food.

As a side-note, Nezuko wrote her name on a piece of paper and showed it to Zeta, essentially telling him her name. Therefore, he was free to speak of her name without being suspicious of knowing more than he should.

As Zeta's house had more rooms than Felicia's, he was able to put Nezuko to sleep in one room, and brutally fuck Felicia in another.

Thankfully, he made sure his room was made of noise-cancelling material. He didn't expect it to be so useful so early.

The next day soon arrived.

[Balance: 245]

He didn't have too much planned for today. Most plotlines he'd been peering his head into thanks to M'Shen aren't at their next plotline just yet. As much as he'd love to just show up ominously to say something and leave, he didn't want to risk severely altering the chain of events for a few dozen points.

To begin the day, he tried to experiment with his new Psyker abilities.

Zeta set off to the training facility. Nezuko didn't like crowds, or people in general, so she stayed home with Felicia. Gwen wasn't set to arrive until 2 hours later, so he didn't need to worry about spectators just yet.

He didn't even know where to begin with his training. He tried to manifest his new abilities through what he remembered regarding 'spells' in Warhammer.

"Smite!" He shouted... nothing happened.

'It's probably a better idea to figure out where my new energy is even stored before I go spewing out bio-electricity.' He thought to himself.

To begin with, he tried to sit down and meditate. He was truly lost so he began with what most fictional mages and such started with. He tried to empty his mind while he searched his body.

Unfortunately, he found nothing. It wasn't really a surprise; he was basing it off of fictional happenings after all.

Instead, he sat down and tried to concentrate, he wanted to force the energy out of his body, or at least get it to move. He sat down and tensed his body, making it look like he was constipated. He held his breath and he tried to encourage his body to do something.

Once again, nothing happened.

Zeta then sat there for a while, simply thinking on how he could access his new abilities. That's when he was reminded by the system's message as well as a few strands of lore about Psykers. His mind was now connected to the warp, and most of the warp was governed by the various gods in Warhammer.

Instead of looking within himself, maybe he has to look to the gods?

Almost immediately, he saw an instant improvement. A blue-ish, purple-ish energy radiated off of his body after thinking of the gods.

Energy filled his bones like never before and he felt euphoric. However, even with this, he wasn't able to use any spells. The energy now coursed through his body, but it wasn't listening.

He tried to subtly guide it out of his palms as if he was shooting a ki bast, but the energy didn't follow the channels he was trying to set up, in fact, they seemed to avoid it. No matter how much he tried to control it, the warp energy had a mind of its own.

He tried praying to Khorne which resulted in more dense energy, but not making it any easier to control.

Praying to Tzeentch resulted in the energy moving even less predictably.

Praying to Nurgle made it slow down to a crawl.

And finally, praying to Slaanesh made it go much faster than it normally did.

None of which made the energy any easier to control.

Praying to the Emperor of Man-Kind made every aspect of it stronger, but still wouldn't subdue it.

There was no way the energy would listen to him if praying to the gods didn't subdue it any. He was getting more and more frustrated.

"Just FUCKING MOVE!" He yelled in anger. To his surprise, the energy instantly flowed out of his arm and exited his pores. It congealed in a sphere that shot at the wall.

Thankfully, the wall wasn't damaged. It was pure warp energy that had no properties, not even kinetic energy, so it did absolutely no damage to the wall.

'Succeeding after failing for so long? How cliché' Zeta complained.
