Future Plans

"My Lord, it was my thought that using the token to buy time was a last ditch effort to buy time. I think we still have other cards to play." Hab answered. While I didn't disagree with much of Hab's thinking I was however insistent on ensuring that Arthur lives a life equal to other heirs of the great houses.

All other plans would mean that we are temporarily weaken to ensure future success but I couldn't accept that especially now since my last remaining son was killed. I promised William that I will protect and ensure safety for Arthur and Jasmine.

"House Grey should be strong in front of our enemies even if it means selling part of our future" I replied to Hab.

"I…I understand my Lord" I could feel Hab's hesitation from his voice. However I knew that this move was absolutely necessary even if it was going to come back at me in the future.

I had to ensure that a future exists for this house to begin with. Making my resolve about the decision I handed the letter to Hab to be sent immediately.

"As you command my Lord." Hab replied as he received the letter.

As Hab moved away the throne room I couldn't help but wonder what the future would hold for the house after this decision I can only hope that Arthur is strong enough at that point to minimize the damage.

POV Jasmine

It been a month since we arrived at house Grey's Capital city of Frostside. The castle was just outside of the city and the manor which we stayed was couple miles off the castle near the famous Moonlight lake. While the Manor was not beautiful in the standards of the seven great houses it however had a unique charm to it and more than anything was cozy in the inside.

I looked at Arthur in his peaceful sleep. He had his father's jet black hair with crimson strands. It looked like William won the bet as his hair looked like his than mine. But I took pride in the fact that he had crimson strands although I hope it was fully crimson like mine but it could have been worse.

"You will be as handsome as your father." I mumbled to him as I stroke his cheeks and hair.

"My lady, the food is ready, please you need to eat. The young master will be fine." Said the maid as she knocked the door on Arthur's room.

"I will be out in a minute." I replied as I took a last glance at Arthur who for the first time since his birth looked peaceful in his sleep.

I can only hope that this peace lasts for my son to grow up strong and healthy.
