"Whaaat??? Zane is here already!" "He's here! Alpha Zane is here!!"
They all giggled and ran out of the room.
Kaylan stood up weakly and also went out, knowing she'd be in trouble if she doesn't attend.
Hopefully, Zane wouldn't notice her since all the ladies were all looking hot and crazy over him.
Getting out to the door, she found some of them still scampering towards the hall and she just joined the cue.
Her head was bent the whole time, her hair looking a little messy.
She kept walking idily behind them until finally, they got to the hall.
Wow!! All the ladies could be seen standing on a vertical line, like there was actually an auction or something.
Gosh! How much Kaylan hated the feeling!
"Please ladies, stay still. He's on his way here already" the Matron said with a wave of her hand and the ladies tried to still their excitement.
All the officials were there, about 4 securities. And Kaylan noticed how cute and natty all the ladies were. They were really out to impress this guy, huh?
Everywhere became still, everyone feeling so suspenseful. And finally, he walked in.
Alpha Zane.
"My God! He's here!" The lady beside her exclaimed.
Kaylan lifted her head slowly to have a look and her heart skipped three beats when she saw a young, elegant man marching in with about three boys behind him.
Her lips parted slightly as she gasped, her eyes beaming at the sight in front of her. Was he... for real?
He had this dark eyes, the lines around it were dark, but the balls were kind of grey color.
His hair was dark and curly, he had a gold chain around his neck with the pendant bearing the letter *Z*
And goodness! Kaylan never thought a man could be so handsome.
He hadn't say a word but everything about him screamed power and superiority. For goodness sake!!
"Welcome to Babylon Hall, Alpha Zane" the Matron said with a slight bow of the head, a courteous smile.
No doubt, they all wanted to put up a good impression for him.
"Thank you, Matron" he answered. "Now, I wouldn't want to waste any much time. Are these all the ladies?"
He asked as he took some steps forward, his eyes on the long pretty line of ladies before him.
Kaylan had already lowered her gaze to the floor again.
"Yes Alpha. They're all we've got" The Matron replied and followed him as he marched towards the line.
He walked pass the first girl, pass the second and stopped at the third.
"Who's she?" He asked icily, his eyes on the young nervous-looking lady who seemed like a child being scolded by her parent.
"Uh...her name is Sarah. She's a human girl whom we found along the road, sleeping close to the gutters" the Matron replied and Zane only smirked before walking away.
He continued walking and stopped in front of the fifth lady.
"And who's she?"
"T...That is Tasha. Her parents were killed and she ran to us for help" The Matron replied and Zane moved onto the next person.
Hold on, why does she keep stuttering? Kaylan thought.
Was Zane that feared among people?
He got to the sixth person and stopped.
That was Crystal.
"And she?" Zane asked, staring into her eyes which were pinned to the floor.
"That's Crystal. Her parents are dead as well and we'd found her when she tried to steal from one of us" answered the Matron as usual.
Even without looking, Kaylan could tell Crystal was very nervous. Her prince charming was standing in front of her - the Alpha of her dreams.
Her hands shook lightly as she stared at the floor and she had to turn them into fists to prevent them from being noticed.
Zane stared at her for a long time - longer than he stared at the others - and The Matron was beginning to think he'd chosen her already.
But suddenly, he smiled wryly and walked pass her.
He walked pass the other ladies and finally stopped in front of one that caught his attention. That was Kaylan.
She wasn't looking as attractive as the others, but he couldn't tell why he stopped walking.
"And she...?" He asked tenderly.
Kaylan's bladder suddenly became full and she feared she might pee on her pants at any moment.
God! No! No! Please!!
He can't be in front of her. The Matron can't reveal her identity. Goodness! No!
"Um... That's Kaylan - the Hunter's Daughter" the woman replied and a brow arched from Zane's face.
He looked at the Matron, then back at Kaylan who was almost shivering.
"You mean... Sapphire's daughter?" He scoffed.
"Yes, Alpha. We'd found her in the woods after their camp was ambushed. She's been here for just two days now".
"Are you kidding me?" Zane suddenly laughed. It wasn't even upto a second tho.
"The Hunter's daughter is in front of me?"
He chuckled and touched her face, lifting her chin up a little and scared eyes met with his.
"Well then, I guess I've found my bride already" he stated with a cold smile.
