It was a beautiful autumn season at the wedding day of Danni's friends. She got up from her table to refill her glass of champagne, and as she walked past the head table, she saw Scott sitting there. They exchanged polite smiles, but didn't talk much. Danni had seen Scott before, but had never really talked to him. She knew he was an actor, but chose to keep quiet about it, because she wanted to get to know the real person behind the fame. Over the weeks, they started to enjoy each other's company, and seem to still seeing each other at weddings. Scott never knew that Danni was a writer in the movie industry, and Danni never told him. She enjoyed the anonymity of being able to observe him without him knowing who she really was. One day, while in their hiding place, Danni opened up to Scott about how she was feeling. She told him that she had developed feelings for him over the passed months and wanted to explore a relationship with him. Scott was hesitant at first, because of his past heartbreak, and wasn't sure if he was ready for another relationship. But with Danni's persistence and patience, they started seeing each other and fell in love. They had a whirlwind romance filled with laughter, passion, and adventure. Danni was happy, and she felt like she had finally found her soulmate. She loved him so much that she decided to write a book about their love story. It became a bestseller and the spotlight was on them. But then something happened that she never saw coming. Scott was disappointed about the book, and his father was filled with anger towards her. Scott felt like his privacy had been invaded, and he became distant from Danni. She tried to reach out to him, but he wouldn't respond. She felt like she had lost him forever. But doon reconciled but it was too late. Years went by, and they were both at a mutual friend's wedding again, with their own partners. They locked eyes from across the room and smiled with the idea of their past. They didn't exchange words, but they both knew that they were happy in their own lives. Danni looked over to her companion and felt thankful for everything she had. She still loved Scott, but she knew that they were just characters in each other's stories now. She realized that sometimes, life doesn't go as planned, and the person you thought was your happily ever after, wasn't meant to be. But she was grateful for the memories they shared, and for the love that had filled her heart for a time. As the night went on, Danni realized that sometimes, the best love stories don't have endings that make sense. And sometimes, the best love stories are the ones that you hold in your heart forever.
As Scott and I met again at our secret hideaway, I was still perplexed by what David had told me. It had unexpectedly consumed my thoughts and I was absent-mindedly staring at the wide sea overlooking our spot. "Do you have something on your mind? You seem distant," Scott asked, his brow furrowed with concern.
I sighed, feeling the weight of my secret grow heavier. "Last week, some paparazzi took pictures of us. My friend saw it, and he's upset about it," I admitted, my cheeks burning with embarrassment. But Scott's eyes only widened in surprise. "Oh, is he just a protective friend, or could it be that you have a secret admirer?" he teased, trying to lift my spirit. I hesitated for a moment, contemplating whether or not the truth shall be brought to light. Eventually, I gathered my courage and decided to open up. "No, he's not just a friend. He's been my best friend for almost six years, and we're partners in everything, especially at work. And the thing is, he's married to my other best friend. So we kind of not having that relationship you're referring to." I confided, my voice barely above a whisper.
Scott's playful expression faded, replaced by a mix of confusion and concern. "Does he have something against actors? Maybe he's not a fan of the entertainment industry. Or possibly he's just feeling unfulfilled in his own life," he implied with mockery.
"Maybe," I responded with dismay. But deep down, I knew that it wasn't about his dissatisfaction with our career. It was about my betrayal and my failure to remain faithful to both him and Scott. Understanding this, Scott and I continued to talk about lighter topics, desperately trying to cling to the exhilaration and bliss we found in each other's company. But the guilt weighed heavily on my conscience, a constant reminder that time was running out and a difficult decision awaited me in the near future.
Not thinking about the problem as much, It's amusing how we likely share some common interests, like our love for the countryside, horses, and action movies based on real events. Growing up away from the city, I've always preferred the serene atmosphere of a farm, like how I used to admire Don and Vanessa's ranch, where I can simply observe the graceful horses galloping freely on the grass.
As I pondered the potential fun that could unfold in my life alongside Scott, my conscience became increasingly burdened by a pressing issue concerning our close relationship. "They're questioning me about our connection, Scott, and I find myself at a loss for words," I confessed, my gaze fixed on him.
"Why not tell them that we're in a relationship? Perhaps it's time for us to embrace being a couple in the public eye. What do you think?" To my amazement, Scott suggested. "But do you truly want that?" I responded, my worry evident.
"Absolutely. There's nothing wrong with openly dating, as long as we know that our happiness remains the priority," Scott comforted me. "I am so overwhelmed with joy, Scott, but I cannot shake the thought that my existence can put you in harm's way," I said as I put on a smile. "That's just the way life is, Danni. If my father's name wasn't involved in some of my activities, problems wouldn't arise often," Scott differed laughing about his notoriety and status, pulling me into his embrace.
Instead of hiding our relationship and keeping it a secret, we decided to become more open about it, letting everyone see us together. But then came the day when Scott had to leave the country again, and he wanted me to go with him. Unfortunately, I couldn't just abandon my obligations at work just because he needed me. I had to chaperone my boss for the casting of our next film, "a huge project for our company" he said.
