Making a big change

Holding his hand out in front of him Alexander closed his eyes to concentrate. He was aware such an action was unnecessary, but it helped him picture what he wanted to do.

What he was about to do would validate his findings and act as a sort of stress test for his power.

Eventually, Alex nodded to himself and activated his power which, to him, felt like turning on a generator.

The world, no, the universe suddenly shifted. Fundamental properties of existence that had remained unchanged since the dawn of time changed in a drastic, but not catastrophic way.

As it finished Alex opened his eyes and gazed upon his handy work, and it was beautiful.

The clouds, the sky, even the sun itself held such beauty it would make the greatest of artists cry in envy knowing they could never capture such splendor on a canvas.

The universe was already amazing but with Alex's changes, it was even more so. The largest example being  Blackholes becoming seeable massive singularity points in the universe that visibly warped time and space. You could literally see space cry out in pain as Blackholes ravaged it.

Unlike before where they were colossal invisible points in space-time.

The world below was in a similar state. With the earth looking as if it held untold wonders and beauties instead of being a heap of dirt, water, and pollution.

What Alex did was actually quite simple. He had exchanged the aesthetics of his universe with a custom one of his own.

Or in Minecraft terms, he had simply changed the texture pack to something else.

....

"I wonder how freaked out everyone is down there?" Alex said with a chuckle as he glanced down to the earth.

It looked relatively peaceful from up here. But he knew that wasn't the case at all.

With a thought, Alex's eyes and ears were enhanced to a ludicrous degree allowing him to gain insight into the reactions of his fellow humans.

What he found didn't surprise Alex.

Confusion.

" T-this doesn't make any sense! The fundamental laws of physics have been flipped on their head!  I Can't even call it physics anymore!"

Denial.

" This can't be real! I must be seeing things! This just doesn't happen."

Anger.

" What now!? Haven't I suffered enough, you sick sadistic God? Do you wish to punish me despite my confessions, my faith in you!"

Whatever this is.

" Shiiiiit I must have smoked the good stuff."

And looking towards religion for answers.

" This is an act of God! Now, pray so that we the faithful do not suffer from his wrath."

Similar reactions were widespread across the globe. All of them coming to their own conclusions. All of them wrong.

Well almost all of them.

Casting all his focus on a singular house in Indiana, Alex smiled as he watched a family of three talking with each other as if nothing had happened.

Though it was the conversation they were having that made Alex cackle with laughter.

" So it's pretty obvious that Alex is responsible for this right?" Asked a tall white male with brownish-blond hair who looked to be in his late forties.

This was Chase Harper, ex-world champion boxer, owner of the Gamer's Guild, and Alex's father.

Beside him, a mixed young boy with a rather large afro who looked to be of nearly sixteen years, despite only being thirteen, smirked as he answered Chase's question.

" Yep. This was at the top of his list of things he would do if he got powers. Well that and create himself, and I quote, "Some Anime waifus". "

That was Lee Harper, a genius with an IQ of 182, leader of a group he calls "The Lords", entrepreneur of the...Cultured arts, and part-time brother, and full-time annoyance to Alex.

" Still what if it wasn't him? He hasn't called us in hours, it's gonna be dark in a few minutes." Asked a Worried black woman with purple-dyed hair, who looked to be around the same age as Chase.

Finally, this was Shay Harper, a Loving mother, professional singer, and ethics teacher.

This was Alex's family, some of the few people in this world he could one hundred percent trust.

Alex continued to watch his family from afar while internally deciding whether or not to appear before them.

Here's a chapter for today.

I'll try to get at least three chapters a week out since this story isn't really hard to make.
