3 The edge

Ultimately he decided against it. He still had things to test and a few goals he had in mind to complete. If he greeted them now he'd be stuck conversing with them for hours over what he should and shouldn't do.

Yes, even with powers that made him basically a God, Alex, even if he didn't act on it, would still listen to his parent's advice. He loved his parents quite dearly as they took care of him, supported him, and even fought for him on numerous occasions.  Those actions made it so in his eyes every word they said held some value.

Moving on, Alex returned his gaze onto the greater world.

Despite the chaos caused by his actions, Alex would not reverse it. This, compared to what he would eventually do, was a small change. He needed the people of earth to grow used to strange occurrences in their universe so he could make even larger changes without fear of mass cases of insanity or suicide.

Technically he could just simply change the memories of the inhabitants of his homeworld to fit the world as he changed it. But he wouldn't.  Doing so felt like a violation of a person's free will.

With Alex growing up in a household that valued the freedom of choice as long as it was ethical, he couldn't bring himself to deny others what he had.

Sighing, Alex Finally turned his gaze to the universe and was both surprised and horrified at what he saw.

Nothing was out there. Not a single Alien besides animals that ran on instincts alone. No God or divine being watching over and judging us.

Humans were the only sapient beings in the universe.

" Well, that's depressing." Mumbled Alex as he double, tripled, and quadruple-checked the entirety of the universe for literally anything besides humans and animals.

He found nothing.

" Welp guess I'm gonna have to make some later." Said Alex as he decided to check on one last thing before making any more changes.

Disappearing from his spot in the sky, Alex appeared at a place no man or woman could ever reach in his reality.

The ever-expanding edge of the universe.

...…..

What does one do when faced with infinity? When one watches as their universe is being created seemingly from nothing in front of them?

The majority would not be able to answer such a question for two reasons.

One, the person who witnessed such an amazing display would most likely go mad as their brains try and fail to comprehend the creation of the three dimensions that make up the universe.

Two, the energy and power that the universe releases would straight up put a man ten feet under.

Yet for Alex, neither of these things affected him.

Whether that be because of his power protecting him, or the fact that he had already altered the universe in such a large manner he became immune is unknown to him.

Even still the beauty that he looked upon strook him silent.  Nothing in this universe was more horrifying yet alluring than the sight before him.

And when the guy who scanned the universe not minutes ago says that, he means it.

But, this was not what he came here for.

Enhancing his already powerful senses even further Alex gazed past the edge and beheld the dreaded nothingness that surrounded his universe.

It took him less than a second to find his targets.

Innumerable Impossibly white dots were scattered across the nothingness. Each of them radiating with enough heat and energy to destroy an entire universe if they made contact with one.

These were big bangs that have yet to explode.

Unfortunately, besides these unborn universes, nothing else existed. There was no multiverse. Not yet anyway.

" Damn that sucks. I was hoping I could find some answers as to why I have these powers."  Alex said disappointingly.

Taking another look and finding nothing once more, Alex moved back to earth.

It was time to talk to his parents.
