War Plans

While the gangs were trying to figure out who their new enemy was. Rich was already planning to attack them. He knew time was not on his side, and had to act accordingly. He was planning to hit them soon and hard. However he needed to make sure he got them all at once. He did not like loose ends.

Rick had brought everyone in on a meeting to discuss what needed to be done and to see if anyone had any ideas. He had satellite footage from Hermes and the drones had almost surveilled their entire area. From what everyone could tell the raiders outnumbered them about four to one. But Rick and Shane figured most of these people didn't really know how to fight.

"The way I see it, if we can hit them hard and fast they will scatter to the wind. Now we just need a plan of attack." (Shane)

"I have come up with a couple of scenarios that I think may be effective. The first is we use the drones to round up as many walkers as possible and then lead them straight into their camp. They will use up ammunition, and it will thin their numbers. The second also uses the drones but we will attach explosives to them and then rain down hell fire on them. The problem with both of these plans is that there will be casualties of the innocent people inside. From what we can gather is that there is several hundred people who have been captured and are being treated as slaves." (Rick)

"Is there any plan that doesn't involve accidentally killing a lot of innocent people." (Hershel)

"We could go in boots on the ground and fight them toe to toe. The problem with that is we will lose a lot of our own people. And in all honesty I'm not really willing to make that sacrifice for total strangers. I know this sounds harsh, but everyone of you are my responsibility. You guys are also my family. We lost almost 50 people just keeping the armory from them. That is way to many. Everything we know about these people is that most of the people they have captured are probably as good as dead anyways." (Rick)

"I know this sounds harsh but we are not willing to put our own people at risk for total strangers. If we can save people we will. But we wont jeopardize our own safety to do so."(Shane)

"Rick if I may sir, I think there is a more optimal plan."(Hermes)

"Go ahead."(Rick)

"Using the plans already provided and the maps of the surroundings taken from the satellites. I believe the best option would to be to use a four fold plan. The first would be to lure the walkers into their camp from two different directions. Then while the enemies are grouped together attempting to defend their locations. Second we use the drones to drop firebombs and explosives. Third we then leave a area open for them to escape, but set up a series of choke point blockades. When they arrive we use the high caliber machine guns to take them out as quickly as possible. Then fourth and lastly, we send in ground units to overtake their camp to kill any stragglers, and rescue any possible victims that have been captured. We can monitor the whole situation from the satellites and live drone feeds back in the compound." (Hermes)

Rick honestly could not come up with a better plan so he relayed it to everyone in the group. Most believed this would be the best course of action and agreed to begin to implement it. Rick decided which group would be responsible for which part of the plan.

Hermes could control the drones so he would gather the walkers and pilot the drones with explosives. He would also be able to calculate the most effective areas to bomb. Rick decided that Meryl would be in charge of the blockades and was given strict orders to not leave anyone alive. He would also send Daryl out to monitor and track anyone who slipped through. He would be given a team of about 50 people and two of the ripsaws. Rick, Shane, Xiang Fe, Jesus, and Sasha would each lead a ground team in and begin to sweep the gangs base. Glen would handle logistics and coordinate everyone's locations. Maggie as always would stay behind and lead the compound while Rick was away.

Hermes advised Rick it would take him two days to get all the walkers together. He estimated he would round up 10,000 walkers and split them into two groups. Rick was astonished by this number but he knew it would be effective even if was over kill. Hermes then advised him he will keep some explosives to thin out the herd of walkers.

After the meeting was planned and over everyone began executing their part of the plan and prepare. Rick and Shane stayed behind and continued to talk.

"One thing we never talked about is what we are going to do with anyone that surrenders."(Shane)

"That won't be a problem. We are going to kill them all."(Rick)
